New iPhone X - friends telling me they send me texts that I’m not receiving Posted: 10 Jan 2018 09:29 PM PST Help! I just moved over to an iPhone X from a 5s and my friend that I met up with today told me he was worried about me because he hasn't gotten a text back in response to his messages yesterday. I never received them. Once I texted him today, I got his responses back only from the ones he had sent me in response to my immediate texts. Similarly, my roommate asked if I got his texts. I had not. Both people I mentioned also have iPhones. This is disconcerning, especially since I may have received texts from a boss or coworkers that are important. I have tried restarting my phone with none of those previous texts received. What else can I do? [link] [comments] |

Apple Symbol Startup - Iphone 6S Posted: 10 Jan 2018 08:28 PM PST I try to boot my phone and all I get is the Apple logo. It's not going anywhere. Won't reboot. I've tried to restart it. Anything I can do here? [link] [comments] |
Does iPhone need an iTunes account on an associated computer? Posted: 10 Jan 2018 07:51 PM PST My dad is currently trying to locate and transfer some old files on his iPhone 6, specifically some voice memo files that were lost at some point, I believe in the process of updating his phone to a new OS. He has a Lenovo computer on which his iTunes app bugs out continuously, and doesn't ever let his phone connect to. I'm wondering if there's a way that he can transfer files from his old phone (iPhone 6) which has the voice memo files and more that he is trying to transfer onto his new phone (iPhone 8). His backups don't have the files on them for some reason... If anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated especially since I'm not an iPhone user myself. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
How to stop group texts from sending as iMessages? Posted: 10 Jan 2018 07:43 PM PST So I'm in a group message containing 12 people, 4 of whom do not have iPhones. As of a few weeks ago, my phone has started sending the group texts as iMessages. How can I remedy this? I have tried everything including working with Apple support to no avail. I found an AT&T support article saying you can only text message 10 people at a time, but I had been doing it for months leading up to this.. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jan 2018 07:06 PM PST Hi everyone, So I've had my iPhone 6 (128GB) for over 2 years now. Dropped it a few times and have destroyed the screen with some LCD issues. It's still usable. I can get it fixed for roughly $60. I was just wondering if its worth it to fix or if I should move on and upgrade (with a secondhand phone I guess.. to save some money). Do you think its worth it to fix it? Or should I look to upgrade? And if so, how much should I look to pay for an iPhone 7 (128GB) or should I look for an iPhone 8/X? [link] [comments] |

Phone locked to a company (Sycamore), but the phone company doesn't exist? Posted: 10 Jan 2018 08:05 AM PST Hey guys, it's been a long week with talking to carriers, apple, and on being on hold, but I am all out of options and hoping somebody on the internet can help. I have an iphone 6s which used to work perfectly fine before I reset it and tried a new SIM card on it, but now, when I put my old SIM back inside of it, it doesn't work because it's "locked". I called apple and they told me it was locked to a company called Sycamore Cellular, which doesn't exist anymore (the apple support guy and I called them). Things i've tried: Factory resetting (through the phone and also through iTunes) Calling my carrier (phone wasn't bought through them) Calling apple (they couldn't help) Trying 4 different SIM cards (all didn't work) I'm all out of options and looking for help to see what else I can do. Thanks in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jan 2018 11:05 AM PST I'm stuck with a phone with parental controls switched on, and a 4-digit passcode blocking the ability to turn them off. Unfortunately the person with the passcode is no longer around. Trying to not have to wipe the entire phone and start from scratch as there is sentimental value attached. Anyone know a way for me to get around the passcode? [link] [comments] |

What software to use to retrieve corrupted data from a itunes backup? Posted: 10 Jan 2018 09:25 AM PST When I tried to install a backup to my new phone awhile ago it says the data was corrupt and could not be used. When I use EaseUS mobile I could pull my data up and see it, but haven't bought the software yet. Just spoke to a sales rep from them and told me none of their programs would work... Any other suggestions to retrieve data? I have a lot of work files and contacts that I need to retrieve. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jan 2018 09:11 AM PST I dropped my beat up iPhone 5 the other day and the screen went completely black. I got the screen replaced, and 30 minutes later it was acting wonky, and by the next morning it was barely usable. I went back and got another screen put on, and it started acting up a couple hours later. Phantom touches, my touch reading wrong, you name it. Could this be a problem beyond fixing with a screen replacement? Sometimes the screen works fine, and other times it is completely unusable [link] [comments] |
Password works on icloud.com, but not on my iPhone Posted: 10 Jan 2018 09:06 AM PST I just recently reset my password on the iforgot site. I'm able to use the new password on the website icloud.com. However, when trying to sign into features on the phone, like the app store, the new password is not working. This is an IPhone 5. Yes, I'm using the same username (email) for both the icloud site and the phone. [link] [comments] |

Please help. I heard a iPhone 4 can be iCloud bypassed but can the 4S be bypassed? [link] [comments] |
Forwarding texts from work iPhone to personal phone Posted: 10 Jan 2018 07:35 AM PST We have iPhones that we carry for our on-call support rotations. Rather than having to physically pick up a phone for each on-call rotation, is there any way to remotely or programatically forward texts to a personal phone. On Android I can use Tasker to do something like this and on pagers I've used in the past I've been able to do this through a web site. Does any functionality like this exist for iPhones? AR Apps and Overheating? New iPhone owner, concerned Posted: 10 Jan 2018 06:35 AM PST So I just got a shiny, new iPhone 8 a week ago, been using it a lot. I received Jedi Challenges as a gift in conjunction with the new phone. After playing the game for, oh...a half hour or so, the phone was pretty damn warm - hot even, though not painful to hold. Feels about the same as other devices of mine that run at around 35-Celsius max (which is the maximum listed for an iPhone, though I assume there is a buffer between 35-Celsius and an overheat shutdown). I'm wondering, should I really be concerned about using this app? I know augmented reality apps make a phone run hot, but this seems...excessive. I know the phone will tell me if it gets dangerously hot and shut down, and this hasn't happened yet. Still, is this basic function creating enough heat for concern? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 Jan 2018 12:46 AM PST Hello everyone, I'm looking for a phone (any company) that has a big screen but is not that expensive. (Under 200$) any suggestions?? [link] [comments] |
