Request for a pure strategy game

    Posted: 31 Dec 2017 03:19 AM PST

Hello, iOS gaming. I'm new here, as it's been a month since I bought my first iPad. What I'm looking for is a pure, single player, strategy game (I don't mind if it's not free, it probably shouldn't be), with no, or at least just cosmetic-not necessary, in app purchases. A game that I can buy, build my armies, make my game plan and defeat my bot opponents, with no need of gems to unlock units or speed up my way to victory. A game that I'm buying just once and get what I paid for. I know Civilization VI is a thing and I've already tried it, not sure if I'm going to buy it though.

It's funny and sad that I need to post a request for something that used to be the rule and not the exception, when it comes to marketing games.

    XCOM - Good or bad?

    Posted: 31 Dec 2017 06:44 AM PST

What do you guys love / hate about the game?

I see a lot of people recommend it here, but i feel like its extremely slow game? The camera looks clunky and too much zoomed in too (im judging this by gameplay videos I've seen on yt)

Didn't play it yet but i am very interested. Thanks for any input!

What are some great old games that are still in the App Store and will run on the original iPad ?

    Posted: 31 Dec 2017 06:27 AM PST

I've recently acquired an original iPad from work and as I'm sure you know the thing hardly runs anything.

I've Jailbroken it but at the end of the day I'd really like to bring the old memories of iOS Gaming back and get some of the great original games released to the App Store.

What great older games (original games from the early days of the App Store) still remain and will work on this brick of a tablet ?

P.S - When I say old games I mean games that were released early on in the App Store days, not ports of old games. Thanks!

Looking for a specific shooter game

    Posted: 31 Dec 2017 06:02 AM PST

I'm looking for a fun game (can be paid) without ads/ energy refill bullshit that focusses on killing stuff while moving forward on your screen (preferably vertical gameplay). Something which relates to this type of gameplay is fine too, please post your ideas. Thank you and have a wonderful 2018!

Please list your favourite Three Kingdom games that have full English translation.

I enjoy both Dynasty Warriors and Romance of Three Kingdoms 2. But other than that, I haven't played anything else.

Any recommendation would be appreciated. Thank you.

Are there any games like Spacechem for iOS?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2017 07:56 PM PST

I love Zachtronics's machine games like Spacechem, Opus Magnum, and Infinifactory, sadly they are not a fan of iOS

    Good co-op games?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2017 07:09 PM PST

Looking for some good co-op games meant for newer devices, local wireless or Bluetooth would be great. We're not into MMORPGs or FPSes, generally a more laid-back thing that we can play missions together in would be great.

For an example, we both really like playing BTD5 and AC: Pocket Camp.

    Gamevice and iOS gaming appreciation

    Posted: 31 Dec 2017 02:30 AM PST

Just wanted to say that this little controller is super legit lol it has its flaws (the trigger buttons require a slight amount of extra pressure to register sometimes) but overall it's straight turned my iPhone into a legit gaming handheld I love it.

I've also recently discovered what a legit range of high quality games are on iOS! I'm a PC gamer so honestly I'm a bit snobby when it comes to gaming but thoroughly impressed with gaming and the kind of games available on iOS I mean the game selection gives the Switch a run for its money I think!

Between the large amount of high quality games that support controller, and controllers like Gamevice that offer a ton of features (connect through lightning port instead of BT, charge while playing, headphone jack etc) I've decided against buying the Switch and just sticking with my phone for my portable gaming needs, in fact I'm about to upgrade from my 7 to an 8+ for the bigger screen, more powerful chip and more storage for games!

I feel like writing a little article or something explaining why iPhone + Gamevice is a good alternative to the Switch lol

Anyways just really wanted to express that, you guys have a new fellow iOS gamer in the ranks

Oh and I'm sad Cat Quest doesn't support controller considering it does on other ports but definitely fun even with touch controls!

Looking for good 4x Space games

    Posted: 30 Dec 2017 05:19 PM PST

Hey all, looking for a quality 4x space game that is similar to these old computer games I used to really enjoy playing.

    Armada 2525

    Into the Void

Similar to Master of Orion series as well. I've looked at the App Store, but there are a lot of options, and I'm not sure what is good, and also still relevant. Like Starbase Orion seems similar, but it's also been out for a long time, not sure if it is still relevant.

    Thanks in advance!

Why is the premium for the Pixel Art app so expensive?

    Posted: 30 Dec 2017 11:17 AM PST

I took a look at the premium expecting like, $5 to remove ads, right? No, it's $20+ a month. For a year, it's $86 (which, compared to monthly, is great, but still way too expensive). Why in the hell is it so expensive for a simple tap-the-screen-to-paint game? Seriously, going by monthly payments ($20 times 12) a year would be $220, which in Canada is more then the price of two AAA full-priced games! What the hell?

Question for people who've played Banner Saga 1 & 2

    Posted: 30 Dec 2017 01:49 PM PST

Hi, quick question for people who've played those games specifically on ios. I'm aware on pc when you play Banner Saga 2, you can load your save from #1 and continue your story with all decisions intact. Is this possible on ios? Thank you.
