I have tried disliking USA Today but I'm still getting notifications. I turned off all news sources besides Apple Newsroom and The Verge, but I'm still only getting notifications from USA Today. Sometimes it just freezes on a page in any app and I have to force close and restart. Sometimes I try to diuble tap on the top of the browser to have it scroll all the way up but it doesn't. | How do I activate Picture-in-Picture for Vevo.com in Safari 11? Posted: 23 Oct 2017 07:45 PM PDT I just got my first MacBook Pro after using iOS devices since the 3GS. Safari and the trackpad gestures have me hooked. Anyways, I have a 2015 15 inch MacBook Pro with Sierra preinstalled. I tried doing picture-in-picture for a music video on Vevo.com, but even after doing the right clicking trick on the video, there is still no option for it. Next, I updated Safari to Safari 11 and I downloaded the PiPifier extension from the Mac App Store. The extension only makes a black square pop out instead of the actual video. If I recall correctly, picture-in-picture does work for Vevo.com in Safari on iOS. Is there anything else I can do to get picture-in-picture to work? I know Vevo has music videos on YouTube, but I prefer the quality and higher bitrate of the music videos on Vevo.com. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 23 Oct 2017 07:09 PM PDT iTunes lately has been repeatedly popping up with the following message: "iTunes could not connect to the iPad "iPad" because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes". It gives me "Cancel", "Try Again" and "More Info" as options to select from. The thing is the iPad is not connected to the computer, nor is WiFi Connect turned on on the iPad, so it should have no need to continually try to connect to the iPad. It resurfaces every 2 minutes, unless I actually unlock my iPad. Clicking on "More Info" only provides me with details of what to do if I have forgotten my passcode etc... Does anyone know how to prevent iTunes from attempting to wirelessly connect to my iPad, if the WiFi connect settings are already turned off on the iPad? [link] [comments]  |
| New iPhone 7 screen acting weird Posted: 23 Oct 2017 06:53 PM PDT Hi guys, I recently bought a new iPhone 7. The past week or so I've been noticing little problems with my phone. Whenever I hold my finger down, the page kind of jumps up and down like if I were dragging it up and down really fast, even when I'm holding still. Sometimes it'll just not recognize my touch at all and won't respond for a few seconds. Also random things will get clicked. Just while writing this I've had the X, as well as add location even though my hands are at the bottom. Is this an issue with the phone or am I just doing something wrong? However, I still got errors (9 and 14) while in recovery mode and now im stuck in it. iPhone wont restore/update, and it wont restart into regular mode. | TouchID stopped working on MacBook Pro Posted: 23 Oct 2017 06:16 PM PDT Woke it up from a sleep and TouchID wasn't working so I just entered my password. A few days later it shut down for no reason and all of my fingerprints were gone. TouchID still hadn't worked again up to this point. I attempted to set my fingerprints up again but it claimed I had too many fingerprints and asked me to remove some from an account to add more. I only have one account and it was displaying no fingerprints, so I rebooted into recovery mode and cleared what "fingerprints" apparently existed still. Attempting to set up TouchID again is not working properly. I get to the point where it's asking me to rest and lift my finger repeatedly on the screen and on the touch bar, but nothing is detected when I do so. What can I do from this point? Additional info: received it as a refurb a few weeks ago and when first attempting to set up TouchID it would not recognize any fingerprints then. | Menu bar freezes when I click the wifi icon Posted: 23 Oct 2017 04:24 PM PDT When I try to access or change the wifi my menubar freezes (just the built in apps, like wifi, bluetooth, etc.... Not things like dropbox. I get this is linked to the process SystemUIServer. When I kill that they come back but clicking the wifi will cause it to lock up again. In System Preferences > Network, the network name dropdown is empty (I'm in a busy area, in a starbucks, my phone can find dozens of networks). I tried turning the wifi adapter on and off from this menu, restarting my mac. Clicking the other icons in the menu bar (including the built in ones) does not freeze the icons, only when I click the wifi one. Any suggestions? [link] [comments]  |

The glass is still intact and it still responds to touches sometimes but is basically useless to me right now. Just curious if anyone has had the touch bar replaced on their MacBook outside of warranty and if so how much did it cost? | Pictures in Photos app appearing as a grey squares Posted: 23 Oct 2017 02:15 PM PDT This isn't mine, but my dad's iMac so I dont have access to it currently. As the title says, some photos are appearing in the photos app as grey squares, some have a triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle, some have a cloud icon. This seems to have happened after he got a larger SSD installed a few (3-4) months ago. I am aware that there may not be much I can do without access to the mac, but there are quite a few photos with sentimental value on there, and I would like to help if I can. Thanks in advance.
