| Posted: 23 Oct 2017 09:52 PM PDT Why is it that a lot of the time when you call an iPhone it goes to voicemail? It seems to be across networks so it's not that. My neighbor is on Verizon and her phone has done it for years, she said Verizon fixed it once but then it came back. I have Boost (sprint) as do my sister and my partner. Two of my other friends also have iPhones on Verizon. I picked up on this long before I switched to ios a year ago What's the cause of this? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 23 Oct 2017 09:45 PM PDT My son has a 6s that just recently started having charging problems. The screen got broke so I replaced that. Shortly after that he noticed that the home button was getting warm and the battery was dying really quickly. And then when the battery was completely dead, it wouldn't charge at all. So I replaced the battery but still the same problem. Don't know if the battery problem was going on before we had the screen replaced or not because it was his sisters who just got a new phone when she broke this one and it has been sitting in a drawer for about a year. All the connections inside seem good, no water damage. The home button is cracked so Touch ID doesn't work but the button itself still works. Any ideas? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 23 Oct 2017 09:13 PM PDT Every time that I try and download an app (EDIT: on my 8+, 256 gb current iOS 11 update), it let's me purchase the app and then the grey circle spins infinitely. I reset it and immediately after putting in my passcode it says "Unable to Purchase" and if I try again sometimes then it works and sometimes not. I have tried to just kill the app (doesn't do anything, spins infinitely again and doesn't come up that I need to purchase it either) and also resetting all my settings (doesn't do anything). | Passcode not appearing iPhone 7 Posted: 23 Oct 2017 08:09 PM PDT When I close my phone (even all night) and I go to unlock it, the passcode doesn't show up and my phone just opens. This is not secure or safe. Every once in a while I will have to punch my passcode in to open my phone. It should be every time. My screen timeout and auto lock is 30 sec. | Posted: 23 Oct 2017 05:29 PM PDT I also propped it upward vertically, and dried it completely off on the outside after 10 minutes, after managing to get the case off. I heard that iphone se's are kinda waterproof, but since this was saltwater, I don't know how good it'll be against that. I should be able to have the iphone taken apart in 2 hours, but by then, I think that it'll be too late. Is there anything I can do right now? Thanks. I really fucking screwed up. Since then, my phone will occasionally lock mid use (games, twitter, safari, etc.) in the sense that I need to either use my fingerprint or code to unlock (not frozen, just locked). Generally when this happens my phone also re-enables wi-fi, despite me turning it off for my commute. I've done a couple soft resets and a recovery. I'd really like to avoid doing a factory reset. I've contacted apple support about this as well (they recommended the soft resets and recovery but it hasn't stuck yet) If anyone has any other tips or things to try, or similar issues, I'd really appreciate hearing about it! I had to factory reset in ios 10 because it was full and could not upgrade to 11 without space. It was wiped clean and installed the newest one. Now it says all 16gb are full even though it was factory reset. No photos or videos. Checking the iphone storage breakdown it shows besides ios taking 6 gigs. Media is taking up a lot of storage which the phone does not have anything on it. Is there a way to see what is taking up this space or fixing this without resetting it again? | Links in Facebook app keep redirecting to spam sites/unclosable popups. Posted: 23 Oct 2017 03:52 PM PDT I've noticed that in the last few months with increasing frequency, when I click on links in the facebook app and am reading an article, eventually I will get redirected to a spam page usually with a popup that can't be closed and the back buttons within the app are disabled. In order for me to get out of the popup, I have to force close the app. There seems to be no consistency on the source of the redirect since it happens across multiple sites, many of which are credible. | Freezing issue I have on my iPhone 6s after iOS 11 has been released. Posted: 23 Oct 2017 03:09 PM PDT So, ever since I updated my iPhone 6s to iOS 11, I've been noticing that sometimes, I don't know how, the Mail icon becomes dark (like it's being tapped on) and the whole display freezes. I can only bring up Control Center and the Notifications, if I try to tap on any icon, it doesn't work. I can swipe between pages, but can't tap anything. When this happens, I have to use Assistive Touch and reboot my iPhone. So has someone experienced a similar issue? If you have, do you know what is triggering it so I don't repeat it? It's not by pressing the Mail app because I can access it when I tap it, but whenever the freeze happens, the Mail app appears to be pressed and frozen. Thank you. [link] [comments]  |

| iOS 11.0.3 > SIM card no longer recognized Posted: 23 Oct 2017 02:18 PM PDT I let the auto update run and updated from 11.0.2 to 11.0.3 on my 2 week old iPhone 8. The install went just fine, but after rebooting the phone says "No SIM" and refuses to search for network. As a result, I currently can't make calls or take text messages. Here's what I already tried:
I would like to avoid a factory reset, mostly because I doubt that would fix the issue. Additionally, as the update hasn't been out for long, I haven't found any other people with this problem on the internet so far. Any ideas? If all else fails I could go to my carrier to get a new SIM card (as mine is roughly 5 years old now, migrated from my iPhone 5), but I'd obviously like to avoid that. Any and all help welcome! Prior to iOS 11 it used to be possible to select the entire body of a webpage by first selecting a word, then dragging the start handle to the top of the paragraph (thereby changing the selection style to a box with handles at the top and bottom), and then dragging the top handle to the top of the page. It was a pain, but it was doable. In iOS 11 this is no longer possible, as selection is now ALWAYS on a word-by-word basis. I can't get the block selection option no matter what I do. I can manually scroll all the way down to the bottom of a page and highlight every word, but Speak Selection will randomly cut out after a paragraph or two, as if it's only reading my initial selection and not everything else I dragged and scrolled to select. Any ideas? Am I missing some obvious selection mechanic here? [link] [comments]  |

I bought second hand iPhone 4s on eBay. I knew that parts might not be original but I have been told that everything works except mute button. I have realised while making a photo of book cover that I was not able to take clear image of book title...no matter how hard I tried... I took my smashed iPhone 4s and I made a clear photo. My partner started looking on all photos which I made earlier and turned out that all of them are blurry. There is one element of camera dislocated (kind of like moon shaped) which probably causes the problems while making photos. Also camera is sticking out from cover about 1 mm, not like in my old original iPhone. I have checked eBay seller photographs and this "moon shaped" element is on his photos as well. The bottom line is that the seller says that he sold me iPhone which works...I am saying that camera is broken and takes blurry photos. Could you please tell me if I am right? Can this "moon shaped" element in camera be the cause of blurry photos? There is another issue with this phone...when I checked in settings its serial number and put online I have got this message: We're sorry, but this is a serial number for a product that has been replaced. Please check your information and re-enter your serial number. If your information is correct, you may need to contact us. I contacted the seller and requested return but he declines it saying the iPhone is fully working.
