    Why do they still keep mail and calendar for instance inside OS updates? Why isn't those apps in the App Store?

    I just watched the keynote yesterday and are a bit baffled about they brag about how good the new mail app is when its just small updates that should have been done in an app update and not in the main OS update.

    They didn't update calendar at all. Still no weather inside calendar and still no integration with focuses. Do we really need to wait another year for an update to calendar?

    Its just weird that they need a 2 hour show to fill with small mail.app updates and use time for it when it should just be an update whenever its needed and they should just include it in the update notes...

    Trying to delete a user profile but I need their password. How do I remove them?

    I want to update my MacBook but I can't as there isn't enough space. My brother moved out a few months ago but his user profile is still on my MacBook, he has a standard account while I'm the admin. While trying to delete the user account it asked me for his apple ID password. I tried asking him for it but he's not comfortable with sharing that information. How do I bypass this? Personally I think this is pretty stupid, why can't I delete it myself since I'm the admin/owner? The only options it gives me are "Forgot Password?" and "Reset Password...".

    If it matters, it's a 2019 Air running Big Sur. 1.6ghz i5, 8gb memory.

    Can't boot from an External Drive by Startup Disk in System Preferences (Catalina)

    I've upgraded an old Mac Mini (late 2014) to Catalina (10.15).
    It was running pretty slowly, so I decided it would be better to boot the OS from an External SSD Drive instead (over USB so I don't have to open up the MacMini and replace the drive).

    I installed Catalina onto the external SSD and am able to boot from it if I hold down the 'Option' key on startup, but I want to be able to reboot the MacMini remotely, so it won't always be possible to do this.

    If I select the External SSD Drive as the Startup Disk (System Preferences > Startup Disk) it just ignores this and continues to boot from the Internal Macintosh HD Drive.
    This happens regardless of whether I do a normal 'Restart...', A 'Shut Down...' then power on, or if I hit the 'Restart...' button on the Startup Disk System Preferences.

    Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this??
    Advice would be much appreciated!

    macOS Ventura drops support for the first MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. Why?

    Can someone explain to me why Apple decided to drop the support of the new macOS Ventura to the MacBook Pro 2016, the first Mac with Touch Bar? The 2017 version is supported. Is there a big difference between the two? Am I missing something?

    Why is macOS relentlessly badgering me to accept the iCloud terms and conditions when I've never used iCloud before?

    macOS Ventura... - Great name but harsh update

    Honestly, I was a little underwhelmed, but I love the name. It's a catchy name, better than the rumored "Mammoth." I have 3 things to say about it. The wallpaper is MEH, the new settings look is more complex, the compact look from before is classic and super easy to navigate, and the supported Macs.... geez apple was harsh on the 2016 and 2015 MBP models. 6 years of updates vs the usual 7 ain't cool in my taste. I'll use a patcher if I feel like it, but the overall update isn't much ngl. What do you guys think?

    HELP: how to run my AppleScript automatically on macOS startup?

    I put some applications to Users & Groups -> Login Items and they start up each time macOS is launched.

    However, when I put my custom AppleScript which was written in Script Editor and saved in iCloud Drive, the Editor pops up instead of running the code. I have to hit the Play button to make what I desire happen.

    Is there a reason for this? Is this a bug? How can I get it fixed please?

    I'm running on the latest version of macOS Monterey btw.

    For anyone wanting to ditch Photoshop for a flat fee app try Pixelmator

    Take a look at Pixelmator for $40. I tried Affinity Pro, and it was strangely for me as a previous Adobe user very confusing to adapt to. And GIMP is just... great attempt, but those guys need someone to completely redo the UI.

    I am not from the company, but I posed this question to the community about a month ago, and just sharing what worked for me in case someone needs a PS replacement.
