    A minor thing to most, but after 1,5 months of owning the watch I finally did it. As someone recovering from mental health issues such as depression and ptsd, it can be difficult to motivate myself to be active. The watch definitely helps somewhat to be healthier

    Brand new series 7 out of the box. Stuck on “low power connect to charger”. Tried 3 different blocks on the fast charger. Let it sit for hours. Tried hard resetting. Any ideas?

    Since there doesn't seem to be a trial period, before I drop $50 on an app, I'm curious if the watch app will provide "feels like" temperature on your watch. Also, does it provide multiple day forecasts on the watch?

    Apple Music issues

    I have an iPhone XR and Apple Watch SE. I don't understand why some of the Apple Music songs I downloaded on my phone don't always play on my Apple Watch when I'm off my WIFI. I've tried restarting both my watch and my phone, which I felt worked sometimes, but not every time. Is there something else I may be doing wrong?

    Wheelchair user and Apple Watch

    I'm a wheelchair user and due to my disability and how I use my arms, it would be an obstacle to wear my watch on my wrist. I'm wanting to put it on my wheelchair armrest. I don't care about the health tracking. I'm mainly wanting to use it for touch and voice features. Will I be able to do this without it touching my wrist?

    Question about getting an Apple Watch w/ Cricket

    So, currently Cricket doesn't support the cellular side of things with an Apple Watch. Would I still be able to use one, like at all with my phone? What all am I losing if I get one for use with a Cricket phone? Kind of new to the Apple Watch scene and mixing carriers so my apologies if this is some dumb curiosity.

    Are bands interchangeable between models?

    When I bought my SE last week the Apple store guy said they all basically fit all the models. Is that true? To demonstrate he took a band off a 45mm S7 and put it on the 40mm SE. Asking in case I want to buy third party bands. Thanks

    What Is With Midnight and Starlight, and Do You Predict These Patterns of Color To Continue?

    Some people have said that these color choices are to get individuals to purchase a more expensive model, but even the accessories are the same.

    I'm ambivalent between the Green and Midnight Blue colors. I'm a bit tanned so warmer colors like Green look better on my skin tone. But the Green looks a bit dull (I really wish it were more exciting). Midnight Blue is classic and standard, and I think it'll be easier to re-sell in the future. I've also seen Apple Watch cases in different colors, so I don't know if getting the Green makes any difference anyway since I'll use a case most likely.

    I lost my Apple Watch SE a little under a year ago. I thought I had brought it with me home, but after looking for so long, I just assumed I left it where I vacationed. I just checked the find my app and it now says at home 6 minutes ago?!

    What do you do when you don't wear your watch? For example, you have a formal event and want to wear a nicer watch. I understand you lose your streak and tracking for the day, but what do you do with the physical watch itself? Leave it on the charger, leave it at your bedside table, or something else? Might be a dumb a question, but I just feel weird leaving it behind.

    Went for a morning walk but didn’t count it completely

    I took my fully charged SE GPS (40mm) into the ocean very briefly without going under water. It shut down while I was in the water and has not turned back on in 3 days. Any advice?

    Strange text mirror issue

    Hi guys, just got a Series 7 recently, loving it so far!

    Minor issue with text mirroring on iMessage, for some reason at some point today I stopped receiving notifications when ONE person sends me a text. The notification only comes to my phone (even if I'm not using my phone, it won't come to the watch). The watch also displays texts from a few hours previous in the conversation with this one person. However, every other notification (some WhatsApp messages, Twitch notifications) have come through fine.

    Any ideas? Thanks

    Make your own Apple Watch dynamic face

    The shortcut linked below puts a dynamic text based watch face on your watch—like a big complication that takes up most of the face. Before you read further you need the paid version of Toolbox Pro to do this. The first part of the shortcut - where weather symbols are assigned to weather events came from a post (https://www.reddit.com/r/shortcuts/comments/v3vj84/current_weather_as_calendar_event/ ) by u/leifk3 recently where he put a list of weather info into a calendar event. I did something similar and put it on a watch face.

    The shortcut itself was easy to do, what was tedious was having the watch face, and the data update frequently enough to make it useful for a watch owner.

    The shortcut collects together user desired information—in this case weather, but it could be calendar upcoming events, reminders, football scores or any combination of anything that you can access in Shortcuts and put into the Text variable— and makes it an image, which the Photo watch face then displays.

    Two things need to happen to make it work—the data needs to be updated regularly, and the watch face needs to be updated. These are two different things. Each one can happen independently of the other.

    To get the data to refresh I use several different triggers. I use an automation that runs the shortcut each time one of my thirty most-used apps opens, when I connect to bluetooth, CarPlay, etc., you get the idea. I also use a method using a Focus which was a work in progress in this post I made a couple of weeks back -

    The main difference between a focus method and using a series of automations every hour is that this way is tidier and it's event based rather than event driven. An automation does a specific thing—runs a shortcut when it's trigger occurs. The focus method just provides hooks for other automations to use.

    I ran into obstacles I didn't expect when getting the Photo face to Refresh, even with regular photos. I can't find any useful info about when the Photo face changes or what makes it change. The steps I had to do to make this work were as follows:

    On the phone, in the Photos app create an album called Watch backgrounds. In the Watch app on the phone go to Settings/Photos and turn on Photo syncing, Sync Featured Photo, set the sync album to Watch backgrounds and set the photos limit to 25 (the lowest—you only need two). In the Watch app on the phone set up your Photos face: Move the time to the bottom, lose the top complication. You can use the bottom complication for whatever you wish. In the Content section select Album and choose Watch backgrounds.

    It seems the Photos face needs at least two photos in the chosen folder in order to change photos. This seems to be inconsistent; sometime it flakes when the shortcut only saves one picture in the album but it always works with more than one. That is, with just one photo, the trigger to change doesn't always happen even though you might be just changing to the same photo. Also, the images created soon begin to overwhelm the Recents album and the Watch backgrounds album so there is code in the shortcut to delete these surplus images but leaving at least two images in the album.

    What you need to do: Install ToolBox Pro and pay for the full version. I think it's about five bucks. Add my shortcut below. Set up the watch as I described above. Set up some kind of triggering mechanism such as I described above. The simplest way for testing is to just put an icon on the home page that runs the shortcut and switches to the Photos face. On first run it will ask for permissions for various activities, just allow them.

    I'm going to post some screenshots of various settings in a comment below. If anyone has any useful info or links about what triggers the photo face to change please post. This is a work in progress, comments and improvements welcome. Remember - the example I posted is just the Weather, whatever you can get as text in shortcuts can make your face-with substantially more work you can include images as Toolbox Pro allows you to easily overlay photos. You will see the weather face has nine lines of text—this is about the most you can get and stay readable. The font size can be increased but at a cost in content.

    Hiking & trail map apps?

    Sports S3 band vs s7 band (material the same?)

    I tried on my s3 band (soft white sports band) and it's definitely feeling tough/stiff and harder to shape (and harder to flatten) compared to the sports band from the S7

    Just curious to know if it's an aged thing or updated material? The new one is definitely more comfy and better touch feel
