Why can’t we build iOS Home Screens on a Mac? Posted: 13 May 2022 04:36 AM PDT iPhones need the ability to create and reorganise your Home Screen from a Mac. Just like you can build your watch face using the Watch app on your iPhone. I think it would be so much easier to drag and drop apps and folders using a mouse instead of having to slide them around the touch screen while accidentally ruining your existing set up. Why hasn’t apple fixed the ridiculous post processing AI for photos yet? Posted: 12 May 2022 03:41 PM PDT I have an iPhone 13 Pro and I hate how oily and blended my photos look when I zoom in and take photos at night. The only choice I have of having good ProRAW photos is to pay a subscription for a camera app. How can you advertise amazing quality photos and still have this issue? [link] [comments]
This is the reason your telephoto shots might look bad, explaining the watercolour effect Posted: 13 May 2022 01:33 AM PDT Just in response to the other thread, I'm realizing maybe not a lot of people understand why their telephoto shots turn out like a watercolour mess. If you use the camera app and tap to 3x zoom in, it will default back to the main camera if the lighting is too low. You can test this by putting a finger over the main camera and then tap to the telephoto. If the lighting is good, you should be able to see the subject. If it's bad, you'll see your finger. The reason you're getting the watercolour is because you're actually getting a cropped image that is then sharpened. The algorithm is doing its next to make a very zoomed in portion of the main sensor's image look presentable, and unfortunately it struggles. What you want to do if you want full telephoto access all the time is is to tap over to Portrait mode. For me it will always use the actual telephoto lens no matter the lighting condition and as long as there's no "subject" it'll just act as a regular camera, albeit with no Live Photo. What you'll need to expect though is the telephoto lens really is kinda slow in low light and you'll either get a blurry shot, or something rather dark because Night Mode isn't a part of Portrait. Unfortunately if you want direct access to the Telephoto you need to either keep using the portrait trick, or buy a separate app. [link] [comments]

People who own magesafe chargers, what’s the benefit? Posted: 12 May 2022 03:14 PM PDT I just bought a third party MagSafe charger for €20,-. While I started using it, i thought, what is even the benefit, seeing the cable is thesame and the charging time is slightly lower. I was wondering, what are the benefits even for me of using MagSafe while I can use the normal charger at thesame distance. I do have AirPods so having earphones at thesame time is not really a thing that is a benefit for me. (Btw, it's for the 13 pro max, I don't know if that makes a difference) [link] [comments]
Does Anybody Know Any Trusted iPhone Sellers On Ebay? Posted: 13 May 2022 08:55 AM PDT I'm trying to buy an iPhone 12 on ebay and was wondering if anyone knew any trusted sellers (Or any scammers). I am looking for an iPhone 12 Pacific Blue with 256gb of storage that I can get for $750 or less (£612 ). [link] [comments]
Is it true that Apple has said that the last small iPhone would be the 13 mini? Posted: 13 May 2022 07:25 AM PDT A few friends told me that. The iPhones I've owned are the 5c, 7, se 2 and now the 13 mini. If this is really the last small one, then more reason to not use it without the case as I have in the past. [link] [comments]
Switching from iPhone XS to iPhone 13 Pro, or, wait for iPhone 14 Pro Posted: 13 May 2022 09:08 AM PDT Pretty much title… I've had my phone (an iPhone XS) a little over 2.5 years and it's kinda crapping out. Battery is 78% (got the new message that my battery is "significant degraded", storage is minimal, and overall it feels old. Im not sure if it's worth upgrading or just clearing my phone out + replacing battery. Or, if I should just wait until September when the iPhone 14 comes out? [link] [comments]
Buttons should make better sense Posted: 13 May 2022 04:34 AM PDT Now, I'm speaking from only having had the 6s and, now, the 2020 SE, but the phone will prioritize the volume buttons over the power button. Seems like a silly thing, but this poses a security risk as many accidentally hit volume buttons when pressing the power button, which leaves the screen on when the user intended to lock it. I keep my active screen time low, so it locks pretty quickly after setting it down, but many leave it set to blank the screen at 1m plus, which is plenty of time to snatch a phone and keep it open. Why doesn’t Apple make it clear when an iPhone has an Activation lock? Posted: 11 May 2022 01:54 PM PDT I always buy my phones from Apple or Carrier but I've seen so many posts about people getting iPhones that still have an activation lock from being stolen or people not realizing it's there. After the reset, the iPhone should do a check (the check it does when verifying the iPhone causing the activation lock to pop up) and display a little lock in the top right of the "Hello" screen. It seems like a simple solution but perhaps it's not that simple. Buyers in a third party market can easily see if the iPhone has the activation lock just buy checking in the top right for that lock icon. [link] [comments]
What’s the point of MagSafe charger? Posted: 11 May 2022 08:11 AM PDT Extremely curious about this. Users of MagSafe chargers - what's different than using a normal C type? How's it beneficial? Considering it's technically not wireless at all [link] [comments]

Received two used iPhones and found something interesting Posted: 11 May 2022 07:51 PM PDT Long story short I was able to save two iPhones from being fully recycled and found they're in perfectly good working order. No damage, no cracks and here's the kicker: good battery health for the age of these devices! Original batteries too as I found out from the owner. The iPhone X has 87% and the iPhone 7 has 91%. To put in in perspective my current iPhone 12 was purchased last fall and is at 93% battery health. The iPhone X was purchased new in 2017 and the 7 in 2016. Owner was elderly and not hard on his devices but he had these devices laying in his drawer for at least 6 months to a year; possibly longer. Bottom line: what does this tell us about battery health overall? I feel it was clearly better in the older iPhones! Edit: I kid you not: as I finished this post and checked my battery health on my 12 it hit 92% 🤦♂️ Edit 2: edited iPhone X battery health as I doubled checked and it's at 87% [link] [comments]
