    Paramount Plus Local Channel Issues

    I have a first gen 4k AppleTV connected via Wifi. For the first 4 months I had Paramount+, I was able to select the local CBS affiliate from the "Live TV" portion of the app. Now when I attempt to do that, I can watch some of the other live options Paramount offers (CBS News, CBS Sports, a channel that plays nothing but Survivor all day), but I cannot select my local CBS - it does not even appear at as an option.

    When I go into the settings in the app - it says that it doesn't know my location, and I'm assuming this is what is keeping me from viewing my local channel as the app doesn't know where where "local" is.

    I, to my knowledge, have enabled all Location Services on the device and the app doesn't seem to have a separate area in the AppleTV Settings for permissions.

    Other devices on my network (iPhone and MBA) can stream local channels fine on Paramount+, so I'm doubtful there is some sort of setting in my network blocking it (although I'm open to suggestions!)

    Anyone know why my AppleTV seems to be blocking my location for this app? I've done a hard reset and reinstalled all the apps and nothing seems to work.

    Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction - I'm all out of ideas and Paramount Plus's IT desk has had an open ticket on this for a month.

    Is there an Apple TV remote that is a little easier for seniors to navigate with?

    My parents have had an Apple TV for quite a bit now, but my dad recently let me know that my mom seems to have trouble getting the remote to do what she wants.

    For instance, she has trouble fast forwarding and rewinding to specific spots, so to avoid the frustration they have started just sitting through commercials like peasants! I hate the idea of my parents spending precious time during their golden years hearing about medications for erectile dysfunction.

    Are there any remotes that are laid out a little more like traditional cable TV remotes? I just don't know if she is ever going to adjust.

    Primary User and HomeKit

    It seems that the primary user has to be the "owner" of the home for an Apple TV to become part of HomeKit. Which is a big pain as that means photos, etc. are linked to the primary user instead of the "resident".

    Any way around this?

    Mushy buttons on new Siri remote normal?

    I received my Apple TV 4K 2021 today and I noticed that on the new remote there is a slight play in the buttons (especially the volume button). Coming from an Apple TV HD 2015 with the old black remote this is actually quite shocking because the old one had absolutely no play at all. Is this normal or did I receive a bad unit?

    Infuse 7 asks me to go Pro

    Hi AppleTV users

    I have a free version of Infuse video player installed, connected to webdav.put.io

    For most videos it works fine. Most mkv will play fine, but some will not play, and the app will ask me to upgrade to Infuse PRO.

    Have you encountered this issue? Do you know what causes it?

    I replaced my 2015 Apple TV HD remote.

    The remote control for my 2015 Apple TV HD died. Never did like it much anyway LOL!! After spending a lot of time searching I finally found an inexpensive basic replacement that I like. It has a power button for your TV and volume control buttons as well, but it is small in size. Apparently it is compatible with most all Apple TV's as well. To sum it up I am very happy to find this and just wanted to share. Only $19 on Amazon.

    Still a problem for me in May 2022. Any resolutions you guys could figure out to “start over” something or replay? Rather than rewinding over and over. What a pain in the ass. Come on, Disney! I’m spoiled with Netflix, I guess.

    TV turns on when streaming music

    Hey lads,

    Here's the issue:

    I have a Denon receiver, LG TV and Apple TV. All of these are connected to my TV via ARC which is amazing because it allows for synchronous functioning. BUT, whenever I stream music to either my Apple TV or just my Denon receiver, the TV turns on right away. Of course, this has to do with ARC (one device goes on and all other devices follow) but isn't there a way to stream music without everything else turning on?

    All help is appreciated!

    I have a fairly large library (over 370 purchased movies) and I am now going through the process of replacing those previously purchased films in SD (HD not available at the time). But it seems impossible (so far) and multiple searches on the net don't seem to answer the question of how to rebuy movies I have already purchased. Which may sound silly, but that's what I want to do.

    If I remove the movie from my library, I can redownload in SD. I can also stream the movie (I think in HD) but I want to physically own it in HD and store in my library. But while iTunes/TV recognises I have bought it before, there is no way to buy it again in HD.

    How do I do this? Surely this is not a unique situation?

    Wireless Audio Sync between two AppleTVs?

    Doing AV Squad duties for my own birthday party this weekend. Here's the setup:

    • BenQ projector in backyard for slideshow and video after dark. My old AppleTV HD will be hooked up directly to it.
    • AppleTV HD will play music from playlist on iTunes library on my Mac Mini server via wifi.
    • Speakers are two big DJ/PA speakers with Bluetooth; I think I can connect the ATV to both simultaneously, yes? If not I will stream to one then hard wire the other.
    • There is an AppleTV 4K in the house hooked up to my home theater. I'd love for it to be able to play the same music as what's playing outside, more or less in sync. So can one ATV see another ATV as a speaker source via Airplay? Or is Wireless Audio Sync only available from one ATV to other devices?

    Purchased TV shows not showing up

    I can see all purchased shows on iTunes through mobile phone but not on Apple TV. Apple TV will not show most recent purchases. Has been this way for almost a year now.

    In-app subtitles (specifically netflix) on 4k - can’t find a solution anywhere

    I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn on subtitles on Netflix anymore. I used to just swipe down from the top on the remote but that menu is seemingly gone?

    And when I pause I see both a speaker and a subtitle icon on the right side of the bar, but no matter how I swipe there's seemingly no way to navigate to it?

    Desperate for a solution if anyone has an article, vid, comment, etc - I've googled several times and most articles just say to swipe down like it used to work.

    Not Able To Sign Into DirecTV Stream

    [Edit: Issue Solved] My DirecTV Stream credentials work fine on my Mac & iPhone but not Apple TV (or iPad). Tried a full reset of Apple TV and a few restarts. DirecTV customer service has determined that my issue is device related so could it be iCloud related? Odd that 2 of my Apple devices are having the same issue. Anybody have any wisdom to share on this? Thanks.

    Since it is like a preorder, I'm not entirely sure if I actually purchased it, or if I purchased a subscription to it and it will at some point go away. I certainly hope it isn't the latter, as it cost what you would expect a DVD set to have cost when DVD sets were a thing.

    Video doesn’t stay zoomed in?

    Every time I zoom in a letterboxed show on Disney plus, hbo, etc, it zooms back out after a few seconds.

    Anyone know how to get zoom to stick? This never used to be an issue before …

    Regarding Region Lock

    Hi everyone, I hope all of you having a wonderful day.

    I have a quick question as I recently purchased Macbook Air and was going through the contents in iTunes store-

    It seems a lot of the movies I want to watch or buy are region locked as I'm currently in India.

    I really want to grow my collection of moves but the region Lock is not letting me a lot of amazing movies.

    Can any of you please tell how if there are any resolve related to this that can actually work ?

    Is apple tv 4k powerful enough to process 4k streaming?

    I have problem with 4k streaming from my iphone 12 to my apple tv 4k. I have 1000mb internet and the apple tv could receive over 400mb with wifi, the video always has to buffer after 10 seconds. I did a lot of different things trying to fix the problem, finally it has improvement after I reboot the apple tv.

    Same video play on computer no problem ( via ethernet ) so it has nothing to do with source website.

    Tried using ethernet with the apple tv, got no improvement so likely it was not a network issue.

    Just want to ask whether it is really strong enough to process 4k video? Because it looks like performance issue to me.

    Control Sony Bravia volume over HDMI Control with Apple Remote?

    Anyone able to control the volume of a Sony Bravia TV using HDMI-CEC with the Apple Remote?

    I own a 4K Bravia and Apple TV 4K. Power works over HDMI Control with the Apple Remote but not the volume.

    I have the Apple TV set to "Auto" which is required to use HDMI Control for the volume but it will only allow for IR control.

    I hope to get it working because then will also be able to control the volume with my iPhone. Maybe Apple has just dropped the ball here?
