What is your biggest software want from this year's WWDC?

    Posted: 31 May 2022 06:13 AM PDT

We are a week out from WWDC and one of the biggest things I love about it, is how we get new features for absolutely free...and we often have no idea what they are until Craig and "The Boys" get on-stage and show us.

Personally I would love to see some sort of x86 emulator or compatibility for M1 chips...so like a new bootcamp or something that enables the occasional Windows app.

Apple Music glitch in iOS 15.5, beware.

    Posted: 30 May 2022 02:18 PM PDT

EDIT: some users have pointed out that this isn't just happening with apple music, but other services too.

Some context: If you listen to music on an iPhone, the music will typically pause itself when you play a video or open an app that forbids music from being listened to when using it.

Ever since I updated to iOS 15.5, my Apple Music has literally been pausing for so many random apps for no reason that it never did before. Some examples are Reddit, Instagram, and Twitter, which might I add are some of my most used apps so this makes it more frustrating.

Twitter is the worst because it'll keep pausing even after I hit play, and it has nothing to do with twitter's autoplay feature because ive listened to music while that's been on millions of times before. Instagram does it a bunch to when I'm on my explore page, and Reddit does it when I open the app.

It has nothing to do with my headphones either because it's happened while I use both airpods and sony headphones. Really hoping this isn't just me.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro if it matters, and just to reiterate I use Apple Music and have iOS 15.5.

2022 Apple Design Award Finalists Announced

What design style would you consider the current apple hardware

    Posted: 30 May 2022 03:50 PM PDT

    Hello everyone.

Lately I've been learning about art movements and how they affect many aspects of design (architecture, furniture, sculpture, interior design, appliances etc), normal every day things like door lamps, doors, even door knobs and water faucets each follow a design style, generic products have design principles. Since consumer products are follow design principles, and Apple seems to be a luxury company, I wonder what art style their products use. Modern style? International? The latest Mac pro seems to fall under the Modern Style for it's simple box shape, but what about the iPhone or Apple Watch?

iPad Air 3: Very solid, works with daily tasks

    Posted: 30 May 2022 09:19 AM PDT

If anyone's on a budget here, the iPad Air 3 is a very good and viable option for stuff you plan to do on an iPad. So, yeah, in a short amount of time: it's a solid device, and clearly, is updated with iPadOS 15.5. Feel free to buy a refurbished one or a new one; it's a good iPad!

What do you think Apples new HMD big selling point will be?

    Posted: 30 May 2022 07:47 AM PDT

Curious to see what you all think will be the big feature's of this headset. How will Apple position themselves, it would also be interesting to hear what you all want from such a device?

Personally I'm thinking a new work from home Mac, that can basically produce any screen in your space thats visually as good as a real world screen. Then ontop of that, new NeRf based 3d Media. This will focus on static stage media to start, such as sports like basketball, football, or even theatre and festival performances.

When did apple become so cumbersome?

    Posted: 31 May 2022 10:39 AM PDT

Just went to get an Apple watch and Airpods pro for my dad.
He uses iPhone X. Was purchased when it launched.
Due to travelling etc, and from previous iPhone 5S he already had 3-4 charging sets (adapter+cable).
When he got the latest MacBook Air, he got a usb C adaptor and USB c Cable with it. The laptop wasn't even usable immediately because every pendrive and hardisk he owns was usb.
Now this adaptor could charge his phone using fast charging but for that we'd have to get another usb c to lightening cable.
Now the Apple watch charger doesn't charge Airpods. Airpods come with usb C to lightening cable. For that we had to buy a usb C adaptor.
So Along with these accesories, still had to buy a new brick.
And for traveling, he'd have to carry 2 bricks, two cables, and that magnetic charger for Apple watch.
Money and profits aside, how is this in line with the Apple philosophy of convenience?
And, why isn't there an exchange program if we are all supposed to move to new type of connectors.
The MacBook without usb was so damn unusable. Why does Apple forget that every accessory people owned works on usb. Now he has to carry a small usb to usb c cable anytime there's a need to use a pendrive etc.
    Just sounds anti-apple.
Like they're doing a prank on us to see how far they can go without losing all customers.
