Round-Up of New iOS Game Releases - Week of April 14th, 2022

    Posted: 13 Apr 2022 07:14 PM PDT

Any “bite sized” and simple turn based strategy games?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2022 11:52 AM PDT

I like a lot of the "takeover" style games where you simulate war between cities by connecting lines representing the movement of troops. I like that they're challenging but also simple that I don't need to memorize a ton of troop stats or work my way up a tech tree. I also like that a level takes about a minute to play. But the "real time" nature of them means that I can't peel my eyes away for a second. I'd like to find something equally simple, short and accessible but also turn based.

Something like Polytopia is still more complex and takes longer to play than what I'm looking for.

Also, I'd prefer premium games, though free to play is also acceptable if I can pay to remove ads.

Why are iOS games such shit?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2022 02:31 PM PDT

I have long been wondering, like these new iPhones are so powerful and stuff. New chips, graphics to the Moon. Why are there only so few games that make use of such amazing graphical capabilities?

Each time I browse the Games section of AppStore it just frustrates me to see 2D games from 90s in top charts. Games like Tetris.

Is it just because of Apple's commission? Why aren't developers motivated to make proper quality games for AppStore?

Does Kombinera support Controllers on iOS?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2022 09:07 PM PDT

I wanted to buy Kombinera as I love Puzzle Platformers but am not sure about the controls. I tried asking the dev but got no response. Just wanted to know if it supports controllers? As On PC it does

I regularly see posts about player count per game, but where is that data from?

    Posted: 14 Apr 2022 04:03 AM PDT

There are often discussion (read disputes) wether a multiplayer game is dead or not, and many of those discussions show data on player count over time, but where exactly is that data gathered? I can't imagine that all the devs would share that information.

Any good or in depth “resource gathering and upgrade” style games?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2022 07:59 PM PDT

As the title suggests, I'm looking for games where you walk around and gather resources, and then use those resources to unlock upgrades and more resources or zones. Games similar to My Little Universe, My Mini Mart, Fish Idle, Cranberry Harvest, Craft Island, etc

Does PlayStation DualSense controllers work with PPSSPP?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2022 08:07 AM PDT

I have an iPad Mini 5 and just got an iPhone 13, and was looking for a good Bluetooth joystick that would work with both devices and my PC. Where I live, those are a lot cheaper than Xbox controllers but I've seen people reporting mixed reviews about them on iOS. As the title says, has anyone ever tried them out, preferably on PPSSPP specifically?

Are there any Gacha games where you only pay for non game impacting things (like cosmetics)?

    Posted: 13 Apr 2022 01:23 PM PDT

I've been having fun playing some Gacha games lately (Call of Antia, Empires and Puzzles etc) without actually paying anything. I don't mind the slow progression and grind-y nature but I don't like that there's a whole bunch of PVP and random content that can only be achieved through spending money.

Are there any Gacha style games where you can't actually pay to get more? Just for things like cosmetics?

Looking for a single player/offline rpg like Eternium for example

    Posted: 13 Apr 2022 05:18 PM PDT

I may just start eternium back up, I just hate games that you literally have to research and study to learn the basic game mechanics like crafting. Right now I'm potty training a 2 year old, a puppy and helping my two older kids with their homework while working also

Easy to pick up/put down in short sessions games? Preferably with simplistic graphics

    Posted: 13 Apr 2022 12:23 AM PDT

I'm looking for a game/games that are easy to pick up, play for a couple minutes, then put back down for an hour or so. Ideally a free game but if it's high enough quality paid is fine.

I ALREADY have Melvor and FarmRPG. Love them but obviously don't need them recommended to me.

    Thanks in advance!

    External storage question

    Posted: 12 Apr 2022 05:58 PM PDT

Hey gamers, noob question here. Is it more economical to get a ipad with 64gb storage and just buy say a 128gb usb c stick and dl your games to that? ( vs +$150 for more internal storage) Are there adaptors that allow bypass charging while using external hardrive?
