Edges of Leather Link Have Become Sticky? Posted: 30 Apr 2022 03:37 PM PDT Anyone else? And how should I remedy this? I tried simply cleaning it, but that didn't do the trick. [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Apr 2022 04:15 PM PDT Currently got a series 6 blue watch with the standard silicone band. But I don't really like how it looks. I'm looking to get another band or even a few. But I have no idea what to get. Do I try match the blue colour, or a contrast- if so what colour? And the material I have no idea. For reference I've been thinking of a smarter option that I can wear out but idk. Also, I'm not really the person who wants to wear a really bright colour. It's just so hard to know what to get when I can't actually see how it looks with the watch [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Apr 2022 05:14 PM PDT I've created a live photo(for a watch face) yet when I load it onto the watch, it does the animation once, then stays on the key photo no matter how many times I lift my wrist up(bring the display on) Are there limitations? Or is it just an issue with my watch? [link] [comments]

Apple Watch for someone who doesn't care about fitness/health tracking Posted: 30 Apr 2022 01:14 PM PDT TL;DR - Do these things offer enough utility outside of fitness and health features to be worth buying? TL - I'll be honest, my main reason for considering an Apple Watch (SE specifically) is so I can really quickly reply to my partner's messages at work without getting my phone out of my pocket. Bosses don't like seeing phones, and windows of communication are really small during the day. But I'm not about to drop upwards of $200 just to do that, so I'm looking for all the ways I could benefit from having something like this on my wrist. So far I've found the following: ~Notes/reminders/voice recording (Being able to jot down writing ideas the moment I have them would be brilliant) ~Camera controls And...that's it for the particularly interesting stuff. It looks like it does other nifty things, but nothing crucial. Calendar viewing, music controls, language translation, Apple Pay - and sure, if I did get one then I'd eventually try out the fitness/health stuff. Maybe it'd lead to a revelation about my health that benefits me. The problem is that websites with lists for useful watch apps tend to focus on the fitness stuff, which isn't the reason I'm considering it. I guess I'm asking two questions here. First - do people here find enough useful about Apple Watch outside of fitness tracking for it to be worth it? And as a similar second - are there any less-talked-about features to it that surprised you in how useful they are? [link] [comments]

Apple Watch Fitness Accuracy Questions Posted: 30 Apr 2022 04:14 PM PDT Hi everyone! I had a few questions about the Fitness app on Apple Watch. I just started using it to track how many calories I burn in a day. Firstly, I'm wondering how accurate it is, and if I should use it as an accurate reference. The other thing I'm wondering is if heart rate monitoring will increase the accuracy of the calorie burn count, or if it has nothing to do with it. Thanks to anyone that is willing to share this info. [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Apr 2022 11:20 AM PDT I work in carpentry so I'm pretty rough on everything clothing and accessory wise. What would be the best watch band for a series 4 44mm? I've tried a couple like the supcase and they all seem to either break on the sliding connector or be uncomfortable. [link] [comments]
Im having issues setting up my apple watch series 3 to my iphone 7 Posted: 30 Apr 2022 03:02 PM PDT Yes, iPhone 7 is compatible with the series 3. When I'm setting up my watch and I'm on my phone on the app, it says "before setting up the watch, update to the latest version in your phone." When clicking the link to the update, it brings me to the software update screen. This would be fine if not for the fact that my phone doesn't have any updates and is already on the latest version, 15.4.1 or something. It won't let me skip this step or anything. Help? Posted: 30 Apr 2022 02:48 PM PDT So there seems to be a glitch in my fitness app, it's showing incorrect data for today. For example, it says I made 15,000 steps which is impossible. My health app is accurate as it shows 8,000 steps. My goals are also messed up. For example my exercise goal for today was 15 min (I was travelling), and the app shows 30 min which was my goal yesterday. Any advice ? It worked an hour ago. [link] [comments]
How accurate is the calorie tracking in workouts and how can I use it in a smarter way? Posted: 30 Apr 2022 08:48 AM PDT Here's my story and maybe others can provide some information or their thoughts. I bought an Apple Watch a week ago to help me lose about 20 lbs. I am a small guy so weight management has always been a challenge since I only need like 1300 calories a day to maintain my current weight. That's like 3 slices of pizza lol I need to eat more than that to not feel hungry all the time. Anyways I like to ride my stationary bike while working from home. I have a whole bike desk setup and spend an average of 350 minutes a day exercising according to my Apple Watch. My bike isn't smart. It's calories always are 30-50% higher than what the Apple Watch credits me with. Because I'm working as I bike I don't go hard since I'm focused on work. I avg 7-9mph and don't break a sweat or even breathe hard. My heart rate sits at about 100-110 during this time compare to 80 when at rest and 60 asleep. I know it's not the most efficient weight loss workout but it's something I can do easily and consistently with my schedule. On a few occasions I have forgotten to pause the indoor cycling workout and find it's added 100 or so calories. This made me think that it's just got a baseline number of calories burned based on height, weight, gender, and then it adds to it based on your heart rate since I can be laying in bed and it will keep counting calories as if I'm on a bike. Is it still accurate in my use case? Is there perhaps a better workout type to select? [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Apr 2022 06:10 AM PDT Just got an SE 3 days ago to replace my Fitbit because the step count was inaccurate (3+ years old). I think I bought a dud. Since around 4pm today (JST) my rings haven't updated. Calories have been stuck at 446, standing at 8, exercise at 22 mins. When I go into the activity app it says 5076 steps. On my phone, the fitness app has 13 bars lit up for standing but above it says "stand 8/12 hours." When I open health on iPhone it says 9141 steps. I have tried: - unpairing/re-pairing x2 (once around 5pm, once about 15 mins ago) - resyncing data (nothing happens when I press it) - jogging/speed walking for 20 mins around my house with an elevated heart rate to try to recalibrate - restarting iPhone and watch, with fitness tracking toggled off then back on on my phone - checking for updates on both - turning Bluetooth, wifi, and airplane modes off and on - force quitting all apps - changing calorie goals to trick watch into syncing - deleting autosleep, the only additional app I've downloaded since purchasing the watch Also my crown button doesn't respond when I press it (hasn't since the day after purchase), but responds to scrolling. The only Apple store is 1.5 hours away in Tokyo and it's Golden Week (Japanese holiday week) so I will NOT be going there with my toddler (solo parenting). Is there something else I should try to fix this myself or is it just a lemon watch? EDIT: after deleting all data and re-pairing, my watch still continued to bring back the old "stuck" data for the rings. In a last ditch effort I manually added 1 step in to the Health app on my iPhone and then the watch miraculously updated. Keeping this post up for anyone who may need to use this to try to fix the same issue. [link] [comments]

Does anyone known if I can disable the activation lock on my Series 5? Posted: 30 Apr 2022 12:34 PM PDT So my cousin gave me his old Apple Watch but has not taken off the activation lock because he does not remember the credentials he used, is their any other way to get past this without buying anything? Contactless bank card not working (Starling) Posted: 30 Apr 2022 11:17 AM PDT I can't get my Starling bank card to work with my Series 7. It works fine on my iPhone and Mac but no matter what I try no luck on my watch. I had to do some strange verification process for it too. Any fixes? Thanks [link] [comments] |
