Eg in case you forget to disable that privacy pop up or something you can quickly go back and fix it without searching endless list of apps. Would be way better. | Is there a way to get a better autocorrect on my iPhone? Posted: 29 Apr 2022 02:54 PM PDT I'm fairly new to iOS and one of my greatest struggles is the autocorrect. It constantly changes correctly spelled words to totally random nonsense and occasionally complete gibberish. For example, a few minutes ago I was trying to type the word "cultural" in a sentence, I spelled it correctly but it decided to change it to "chatter AI". Why? What kind of ridiculous nonsense is that? I can give examples all day but the point is, the default autocorrect on iOS is terrible. | Very unusual annoying tapping glitch on my new iPhone 11 Posted: 29 Apr 2022 02:38 PM PDT So I recently got an iPhone 11 and out of the box, it had this issue where on the home screen with all the app icons and on certain buttons in apps, when I tap on them, the tapping animation occurs but the tap itself doesn't actually register and the button/icon doesn't do anything. Like, the touchscreen is clearly fine because the touch obviously registers since the tapping animation occurs but the button/icon ends up not doing anything, and sometimes it does this 2-3 times in a row and I have to keep tapping on it until it finally does what it's supposed to do. This isn't a performance or storage issue and it's been happening as soon as I first set it up. It's also on the latest version of iOS. I tried messing with the "hold duration" setting of the touchscreen to no avail. I checked whether my iPhone 11 is part of that batch of iPhones that had faulty touchscreens and it's not. I legit can't find a single other person online with this issue and while it isn't that annoying since it only happens in very specific circumstances (such as right after I unlock the phone or when I click on specific buttons in specific apps), it's still kinda annoying and I would really like to fix it if possible. Sadly a return is not really feasible in my case since I live in a crappy country and I bought this phone from a very shady store (but it was 100% new and sealed, I confirmed that by checking the serial number). | Posted: 28 Apr 2022 07:44 PM PDT after I pasted some text I copied from a youtube comment from safari, the notes app crashed and started crashing instantly every time I tried to open it, the comment contained arabic text and emojis, the emojis were copied as images, also I got the crash log, I'm on iOS 14.7.1 you don't have to do this exactly but here's what to do anyways: 1- open Messages 2- open any chat 3- type anything in the text field in my case I typed \b 4- select the text 5- choose Share from the selection options 6- choose the Notes app from the share sheet 7- save the text to the last note you edited before that's how I fixed it. I used to get a prompt asking me to choose either Google or Apple Maps but I accidentally clicked on „remember this choice" and now I'm stuck with it and can't find the option to change it back. | Strange behaviour while calling? Posted: 29 Apr 2022 03:35 AM PDT Before someone starts about it, I used Android for 9 years before getting my 13 Pro roughly 2 months ago, and before Android I used iOS but I don't remember this type of behaviour. Also this is a regular nano sim card, no esim if that could play a role with my issues. So I tend to call a lot (regular calls via the phone app) and when I put my phone to my ear the screen goes off (like it should) (I don't use headsets for calling at all) But there is few things I find very odd, so I wonder if it is just me or if it is normal behaviour. - when on the phone I get a ton of notifications, but even while I have the phone near my ear I can see for like a split second the screen going on and off very quickly FOR EACH notification I get while calling, and that stacks up quickly and is kind of annoying (can this be turned off?) - other thing is the very top right corner on the back is warm after taking calls (not hot) and this while I have full signal, never had such issue with Android phones so I wonder if that is normal too - calls are counted as screen on time is another odd one, I already found the screen off timer strange (when watching youtube or crunchyroll via chromecast it keeps on counting), but why is calling being counted as screen on time? - also, and this a issue I heard from multiple iPhone users being normal on the 13 Pro (I don't think it is) is the drain while calling, I mean when browsing, chatting, watching videos the battery is super solid, but why on a full signal does the phone casually drain 1 to 2% of battery for each 5 minutes I am on the call?Few friends and other people I know with a 13 Pro told me that is normal, but I don't remember any Android phone or iPhone before having this (my old phone would drain roughly 1% each 10 to 15 minutes), and for someone that does call a lot I find 1 to 2% each 5 minutes hefty (on busy days I sometimes do spend 3 hours on the phone calling, and that drains the battery a ton in my opinion) Just wondering if this all is normal (and in case of the first point, if there is a fix for that) Tried restoring the phone without any apps I use (which is a small list) and I got same issues, no backups though because I started fresh when I got the phone, and iCloud is off (I don't need it) so no backups are being downloaded. I also even went as far as putting in the sim of my work phone in the iPhone which is from a different carrier, same issues but not on my other older Android phone. Also again I do not have drain issues overall with any other type of usage, it's just that how much battery the phone does use while calling sounds a lot to me. P.S. I did contact Apple about it and first time they blamed wifi (wifi calling is off, they kept blaming it) and second time they just said everything is normal and that this is because of iCloud backups (which are off and I said that and they just ignored me...) | Posted: 29 Apr 2022 09:12 AM PDT I've talked to an apple employee and had them walk me through a lot of procedures to fix these issues but the problems still persist. I do not feel like driving 2h to my nearest apple store to have them fix it. When I FaceTime someone, it's a hit or miss if the call actually ever reaches them and vice versa. They will receive my mobile call but not a FaceTime call. One of my apple devices, all of which are up to date, will act as if the recipient of my ft call answered by making the sound and putting up their video, which is just the still picture of their initials. They never actually answered the call, but my device thinks they did. The green "join FaceTime" button will always appear in the message, even if I close and quit the FaceTime app from running, the green "join" button call still shows up. If I click on the button it takes me back to the same blank initial call that the recipient was never in the first place. This happens on all of my devices which I listed in the title. I have made sure that EVERY device has my phone number AND Apple ID as ft call contact info check marked. I have disabled FaceTime and redownloaded it on every device. All of my devices are always up to date and currently are up to date now. The only thing that SOMETIMES works is if I delete the "recents" on the FaceTime app. It only works 30% of the time. It's not a sure fire method and I wouldn't want to rely on droning that every time even if it was. Please do not attempt to factor in the age of my devices as a contributor to this issue unless you know apple is doing this purposefully to coerce shoppers to buy the newest gadget. I'm not a tech expert but I'm certain this is an iCloud/iOS issue since it happens on all my apple devices. I would highly appreciate any advice or tips as to what could be going wrong.
