Newest update repairs the app. Adjust framerate and match dynamics now work again. But the app uses its own player now. But everything works. Download newest update in App Store

Web browser on Apple TV 4K?

Is there a version of Safari for the Apple TV 4K? Don't see it in the AppStore.

I’d pay anything for a remote that “pinged”. I’ve bought four additional remotes four our Apple TV… I guess we’ll find them when we move.

Beast TV (VIP) - Hi! Anyone familiar with this service? Will it work on my Apple TV? Searched the sub and hadn’t seen it mentioned before. Trying to reduce the amount of $$$ we spend on sporting ppv’s.

    Please help!! Issue with soundbar

    Posted: 04 Mar 2022 01:39 PM PST

I recently bought a Vizio M series Soundbar, connected it to the Arc HDMI cable on my Hisense 58 inch roku TV, and use a 4K Apple TV. It worked fine for a while. Started testing different setting and experiment with features. And now whenever the sound bar is on, the Apple TV remote becomes very laggy, also the control through my phone has the same input lag.

I've reset everything and the only thing I accomplished is now I have to reset all my setting and passwords. It's gotta be something I did on either the Roku OS, or Apple TV. The soundbar does not have that many settings, and when I turn the soundbar off the issue goes away.

Anyone else run into a weird problem where you suddenly can’t mute?

    Posted: 04 Mar 2022 08:10 AM PST

So a weird thing has been happening recently.

We have a 2021 4K with two HomePod minis as speakers.

Recently I've noticed in the Peacock app that sometimes muting suddenly has no effect. I get to a commercial, hit mute because the volume of those things is so obnoxious. The system acknowledges mute on the screen, but the audio continues playing at full volume. Lowering the volume press by press also has no effect.

This happens whether hitting mute from the remote or the phone app.

Then, just as mysteriously, after a few minutes it works again. Force quitting and restarting the app does not seem to help.

I've tried googling this with no luck yet. But I'm curious if anyone else has run into this.

Which model of Apple TV should I get for casting?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2022 08:23 PM PST

Most of the household owns iPhone and I was looking to buy an older model Apple TV for AirPlay and screen mirroring 1080p video smoothly. I don't plan on using any streaming apps. I have latest Firestick for that and an older chrome cast for casting YouTube.

Future episodes erroneously in the Up Next section?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2022 07:34 PM PST

I manage what I watch by looking at the Up Next section on my Apple TV but I've noticed a few times recently that future episodes are showing up there. I'm seeing episode 8 of Pam & Tommy in my up next section even though it's unplayable since it's release date is 3/9. Is anyone else seeing this with other shows they watch? I'm hoping this is a bug since it's totally counterinitiative to the purpose of that section imho.

    Volume not increasing normally

    Posted: 03 Mar 2022 06:22 PM PST

I recently got the Apple TV and I really like it, it feels like a huge upgrade over the built-in TV apps. For some reason it feels like for all of the apps, except YouTube, I have to absolutely crank the volume to get it to sound normal level. With HBOMAX and Netflix and the TV built in apps my volume level would frequently be at 10 to 15 and that would be more than enough, the same apps running the Apple TV my volume is at 50 to 60. Is there some kind of setting I am missing or some thing I can set up differently? I have a Sony a80j tv reduce loud sounds is off and it's the same if I have Dolby atmos on or off

Quebec, Canada: Episode 5 on the Stock Market is slated to play today and I've been goddamn hounding the app for this episode, and a moment ago (8:00pm EST) the release date was changed to March 17. What the actual fuck? I am watching clips of the episode on YouTube for chrissake.

    Why such a shitty UI

    Posted: 03 Mar 2022 05:03 PM PST

Can anyone at Apple offer the thought process that went into the design decision of not providing a search option? I mean, what is the expectation here of the user? That I scroll through their entire library to find the one show worth watching on their service? Was Steve so against providing a clear path to the user curating their own experience that those who now follow in his wake believe that the search bar is so ugly it mars the "clean" aesthetic of their copied scroll bars? Is it to spite Woz? It is really frustrating and even at $5 a month, not worth the hassle.
