It did exactly what I needed: it didn't wake me up, but I could still tap the screen to see if something was there. Then Focus got involved and blew it all up. Fuck Focus! It's bullshit I'm not going to ever use because I'm a grown up. Now, when I tap my screen, there's no notifications "because we're in Focus mode" so I need to unlock and dig through to see texts and emails. Now, texts don't show up on the Lock Screen sometimes. Now, texts and emails don't ping sometimes, so friends are waiting hours to get a response. My Rx was ready 3 hours ago—too bad the text notice was keeping that a secret. Lord! | does phone need to have Sim in it/connected to wifi for it to Unlock Posted: 03 Feb 2022 07:16 AM PST hello! two days ago I cancelled my service with freedom mobile Canada and asked them to unlock my phone. he said okay they will pass it off to that team and it'll be unlocked in a day or two. since he told me my sim card would immediately be deactivated I removed it from the phone. then I started second guessing myself if the general>about>sim lock setting would automatically update or if the phone needs to still be connected to wifi/have the sim inside etc. I'm waiting until it's unlocked to sell it obviously. thanks guys! Posted: 03 Feb 2022 05:19 AM PST My mother's iPhone 8 suddenly (from yesterday) started to discharge very fast, going from 100% to 0% in a few hours even in idle and is heating a lot. I've checked the battery usage, there's notthing odd, no single app that is draining the battery, the top app changes from on period to another. As far as I know, modern batteries don't go bad all of a sudden, it's a gradual process. Her phone's battery was still able to go a full day on a single charge until yesterday, now it, extrapolating from the results, it may take 3 or 4 with light use. I thought of viruses, but they seem to be very rare, and she didn't open any suspecious file or link recently (only photos and videos from WhatsApp). She installed Instagram on Monday, but it doesn't even show on the list of app that consumed a lot of battery. EDIT: done the update to iOS 15.3 and forced restarted... even after that it's discharging 0.5% per minute on idle [link] [comments] | ||
| Anyone else’s autocorrect turned to garbage? Posted: 02 Feb 2022 11:53 AM PST Maybe it's just because of the language, but when using my native Danish keyboard I feel like autocorrect is shit. I misclick one letter and it doesn't even try to correct. Like if I wrote "jumpauit" instead of jumpsuit it just wouldn't get it. It happens literally every day, and when using the English keyboard I can even accidentally type a space in the middle of a word and it'll still know what I meant. Or if I accidentally tap "n" instead of space it'll still separate the words correctly. In Danish I'll end with something like "seenyounsoon" and my phone is too stupid to figure out what I tried to write. Can I reset autocorrect or would that mess with what it "knows" already? It's driving me insane that my "smart"phone can't fathom a simple misclick, even when the correct letter is right next to the one I accidentally tapped. Maybe English autocorrect is just more developed, but this is terrible. I have to add words to the text replacement setting several times a week. I really shouldn't have to do that. Posted: 03 Feb 2022 07:59 AM PST So I've talked to 7 people with iPhones who tell me when they use Google maps they are able to go off screen and still have the map show them the rout like on Android... I have asked each of them to show me. None of them have, but say they can. I'm not talking about the widget that shows you the destination I mean your actual real time location and turns and everything. I got the 13 pro max and I did like it however I was not able to figure out PiP for any maps and I reverted back to my older android for this reason alone because I use the PiP so much due to not knowing where I am for work a lot of times. I've googled it worded different ways, YouTubed it, can't find 1 source to back up these claims and not 1 person actually showed me, they just said "you have to use Google maps, I'll show you" then they never showed me lol [link] [comments] | ||

My iPhone alerted me that I was low on storage then it kept crashing and getting stuck on the apple logo for 10-15 minutes. I did a hard reset (volume up + down + hold power button) a couple times and eventually my phone booted up. But now there are no notes on my iPhone. No recently deleted, no nothing. None of my notes were backed up to iCloud and none are synced to any emails, they were all locally stored and even my storage says that I have 18 mb of data from notes, so where did they go? Somehow or another the ringtone changed from the default of "Reflection" to the default of "vibration", and it's a very low sounding vibration. Went to sounds and hapticsand the ringtone is set to reflection but it's not activating when someone calls it only vibrates real weak. Please tell me there's a better way to do this. Right now, I'm clicking the gear to go into Bluetooth settings and disconnect in the iPhone, and then doing the same thing to connect in the iPad. | Posted: 03 Feb 2022 08:30 AM PST In the market and considering the 13. I know I would be happy with it, but I just want to reaffirm my decision and not have buyers remorse. What I mean is for example always-on display. If your iPhone is OLED, you can always get a software update to enable it. But without proper hardware, you can't replicate it. Or wireless charging, can't have that if you don't have the hardware. One big thing that comes to mind is in-screen fingerprint sensor. If the Apple could perfect that and have it on the 14, it's an easy decision for me to wait. Unless the 13 secretly has the tech but just isn't enabled. [link] [comments] | ||
