    iOS notifies you when Apple Watch has finished charging.

    Seems like a valid thing to do for AirPods too. Considering how small and prone to degrading AirPods batteries are.

    Noting that Apple News is not compatible with my region. Anyone knows an app that allows you to browse news per topic? Like for example, have tabs of different topics: Local, Business, Health, Entertainment, Sports…etc. and where I can easily add or remove topics according to my personal interest?

    Tried flipped and google news, I didn't like flipped at all, google news was okay but I had a hard time personalizing my feed. I'm asking Reddit for the sake of time.

    Your contribution is highly appreciated.

    Edit: Context: I recently quit social media apps and I'm looking for news apps to keep me informed and updated.

    Issues I'm facing after updating my iPhone 13 Pro to iOS 15.3

    1. Lagging on battery saver mode.
    2. Photos app lags while editing and heavy usage.
    3. Faced some slow speed/animation issues with Whatsapp and Instagram.

    Instagram no volume slider since iOS 15

    Anyone else having this issue too? It's so damn irritating because I can't know if I'm going to be deafened by some random meme.

    It used to work before iOS 15, not it does not, and it doesn't have its own way of showing the volume like on the media apps too.

    Downgrading iOS

    Hi all.

    I'm kinda new to downgrading iOS versions etc as I've never wanted to in the past. I do know you need SHSH blobs etc, but I thought if Apple are still signing certain firmwares, we could downgrade using the ipsw file via iTunes etc. I've tried to downgrade from iOS 15.3 to iOS 15.2 beta 2 as its still being signed but iTunes throws out error 3949 (I think) and 3utools fails on requesting SHSH

    I just switched back to iPhone after a few years on Android. Considering I've been switching 2 times before I've always had my contacts in the google cloud which works well. All contacts sync well but I don't get the all profile images.

    If I set a picture on a contact in Google Contacts it show up my iPhone. But if they have Google profile photo that they set themselves it doesn't show up. I would also be fine with getting the picture from their AppleID but that doesn't seem to happen at all. They do get my AppleID image though.

    Any suggestions to a retuning iOS rookie?

    Why can't we add music from Files app to Music app?

    You can do a lot with Files app, but you still can't add music files from it to Music app.

    Does anyone know the reason behind this policy? I realize many people have moved to streaming but not all music is available via the big services and even if it were there are some people who simple want the ability to easily add music, that already exists on the phone, to the Music app. I'm aware of other music apps that let you do this but I know they also aren't allowed to access the same storage that the Music app uses. This really feels like a typical case of Let Go and Let Apple -which I'm willing to do a lot of the time but this one keeps coming up for me. I once even bought the 2TiB iCloud plan thinking you could import from there to Music. But it was not to be.

    In short: anyone know why we aren't able to do this? What benefit does it affords Apple? Has it ever been discussed in public by anyone masking decisions at Apple

    How do I completely get rid of featured photos??

    I'm a noob to iPhone but random pictures from my camera roll keep popping up on my lock screen, I delete the photos but then more randomly appear! Can i stop them entirely?

    Notification badges when using multiple devices

    Hi, just wanted to ask if I am missing something here.

    Whenever I get a notification on my iPhone, I also get it on my iPad. So far so good. If I now view this notification on my iPhone, the notification badge disappears on my iPhone, but not on my iPad.

    To make the notification badge go away on my iPad as well, I have to open the app with the badge on my iPad as well and view the same notification again.

    This is very annoying, I find myself viewing almost every notification twice because of that.

    I don't want to disable notification badges on either device, I just wonder if there is some option I am missing to get those badges synced correctly.

    Safari AutoFill uses wrong phone number format?

    Hello,

    when AutoFill suggests my phone number in a website form in Safari it suggests it correctly in international format (like it is stored in the contact details) as +43 676 123456.

    But as soon as I click on it, it cuts off the country code and only fills out 676123456. So the leading 0 is missing and the phone number not working.

    Is there any solution for that problem?

    App store bug - solution

    For people having App store issues like stuttering, laggy when scrolling descriptions or doing other things on App store, this is how my issue fixed.

    I went to settings>App store>Turned off Video Autoplay

    The laggy experience fixed for now(iPhone SE 2020)

    Hi! My AppleCare + subscription is going to expire in two days, so I wanted to check my battery. I booked an appointment at a Genius Bar but, honestly, they didn't seem so prepared. I know about the recalibration thing happened in a previous update, but my iPhone 11 Pro shows, after two years, 100% of maximum capacity in the battery status tab. I don't think I used my phone so well it is actually at 100%, with the pandemic and all, it feels like it's stuck there. It's also a bit annoying since AppleCare only changes the battery for free at the 80% mark. Is there something I can do to reset or force the phone to recalibrate it? Thank you!

    How can I best listen to old books on tape that I digitized?

    I have some older books on tape that I have digitized. Each book is several tapes long and I have a separate file for each tape.

    I'm not sure how I can listen to them on my phone. I'm sure I can add them to my Music library but these are very long files and I doubt it will remember my place when I go back to continue listening.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    How to keep a game running?

    We have two kids, 8y and 3y. The both share the same iPad. Our older one, plays Minecraft. So, sometimes, and while he is playing, the younger one, grabs the iPad, presses the home button and tries to open other games or video.

    The older one cries, cause he is losing his progress.

    Ok, we try to stop the little one from doing this, make him understand why he shouldn't and respect others, but until then we are looking for a solution.

    Is there any way to keep Minecraft running in the background, and keep it from disconnecting from the servers? Or maybe an option to automatically save/exit/etc so he doesn't lose his progress?

    Calls and games

    I am having a problem, the sound of anything I play, is canceled when I start a whatsapp, discord or facetime call, the game is not heard or it sounds very low, is there a way to make them both sound the same way without that the call decreases the sound of the game, for example like android that lets you manage sound from the game, call, notificacion etc

    iMessage Attachment Insight

    Looking for some insight in regards to iMessage attachments: ie photos, links, etc…

    Within iTunes, I would always backup, wipe and restore whenever a newer iOS version was released. Because 15.3 is so wonky, I bypassed the restore. I only really want messages and photos to be kept. Both are turned on in iCloud.

    Rather than doing a "restore" after installing iOS 15.3 from iTunes, I setup as new. I do have iMessage turned on and my messages did sync back down. But their attachments did not sync, at least not 90% of them.

    If I compare two different contact threads, one thread is a year long, the other is six years long.

    One year: most attachments can be seen once I click their name at the top of the thread, hundreds of photos appear.

    Six year: five photo attachments can be seen once I click their name. Nothing else in regards to its attachments.

    So, is this a waiting game like when iOS states "more will appear once indexing is complete"?

    Or must I spend a few days scrolling that particular thread and press "tap to download" on every single image in the thread in order for the photos to appear under the thread name?

    If the second scenario is the case, I might as well restore from a backup since the six year thread has thousands of photos attached.

    iPhone 8 Plus help!

    Before I get into the details I will start by saying there were plenty of things I could have done to avoid this, but I am dumb and I didn't.

    The problem: my iPhone 8 Plus 64G is completely out of storage and when I purchased additional iCloud storage to attempt to backup the phone to transfer all of the data to a newly purchased iPhone 13, the 8 plus attempted an IOS update (I think) and it failed and now it is stuck on the black screen with the white Apple. A hard restart (volume up, volume down and power button) will get me to another black screen telling me to connect to a computer and references Apple.com/iPhone/restore but my options from there are very limited. The associate at the Apple store said all he could do is wipe out the phone to clear space and then turn it on without a problem. This defeats the purpose as I would lose all of the data I am trying to save/transfer. I only had the original 5 gigs of iCloud storage that Apple provides and just purchased an additional 50 to attempt this backup, which failed. My google photos also stopped backing up about a year ago. I have hundreds of very important photos and videos of my child's birth just recently and I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for being able to get into the old iPhone 8 Plus without wiping it out. I was hoping there was a way to restore it to a previous date ( a couple days ago for example). Any suggestions would be helpful as I really do not want to lose some of these recent irreplaceable photos and videos (none of which are saved to iCloud or google photos). The Apple associate recommended what he referred to as "an expensive data recovery specialist" which I will certainly do if there aren't any options for me to try myself. I need to send the iPhone 8 back in to my provider soon as I purchased the 13 with a trade in credit, so my time to get this fixed is limited.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
