Do EMTs and doctors actually utilize the medical ID feature? Posted: 18 Feb 2022 07:18 PM PST I have my medical ID set up on ios but it feels like in an actual emergency situation medical professionals wouldn't bother looking at a person's phone. [link] [comments]
Hide my email is the best feature on iPhones right now Posted: 18 Feb 2022 06:51 AM PST I'm planning a wedding and have to go to a lot of websites to view their packages. Obviously they want your information so they make the email field required in the form. I use Hide My Email to get it, and bam, deactivate the random account right after. If I like what I see, I then reach out to them. [link] [comments]
Handwritten tags converted in Notes app Posted: 18 Feb 2022 08:02 PM PST Is anyone having any difficulties having the Notes app auto detect handwritten tags #? I hand write #sometag but it doesn't detect it as a tag. [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Feb 2022 09:54 AM PST I have to say the changes to the Facetime UI for this version has been infuriating to say the least.. The amount of effort to flip the camera is annoying as hell..and ending a call takes another tap to bring the controls back up.. I thought I would get used to it by now but I am still annoyed. What was the purpose of these changes? [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Feb 2022 05:46 PM PST I have dual sim. How does this feature work? I know it uses the "primary" sim first but when would it switch to the data of the other sim? No service at all or poor service? What's the trigger? [link] [comments]

How do you adapt as an Android user? Posted: 18 Feb 2022 07:16 PM PST I have been an Android user for 4+ years and I have used the iPhone 13 pro for 1 month recently. I love the iPhone for its stability, hardware quality, consistent and fluid visual design, and especially face unlock. Unfortunately I am not in the Apple ecosystem so I can't utilize this strength. I mainly use Google apps and it seems so restrictive on iOS. It feels like Google tried to integrate the same interconnectedness from the Android system, between GMail, Google Calendar, and Google Maps together but seems very limited. If I use the entire iOS hierarchy , then it works better. Widgets doesn't seem to update dynamically or work unless I open up the respective app first so that it can sync. I hear lots of stories of people switching over to iPhone and loving it. How do I reframe my expectations to stay committed to the iPhone? [link] [comments]
Anyone else having trouble with Contacts? Posted: 18 Feb 2022 03:54 PM PST Every time I add someone new to my contacts, their name never shows up, and it still displays their phone number. It only displays their initials in the profile pic. Their names only seems to actually show up when I delete the contact and make a new one. Has this been happening to anyone else? ETA: Half the time it still doesn't work when I delete and make a new one. It's also worth clarifying that I've only noticed this in group chats. [link] [comments]
How can I force auto-replies to text messages at all times in iOS 15? Posted: 18 Feb 2022 02:36 PM PST I'm trying to respond to texts that phone calls are the best way to reach me rather than text. I'll turn this off for specific people once the text gets sent to them. I only see this feature in the Driving do not disturb feature, but when I use it, whenever I try to open up my home screen it forces me to turn off driving mode, so I can't keep sending the responses when I'm using the phone. If it isn't possible to do it within Apple's iOS 15 features, are there third-party apps that allow it? [link] [comments]
iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes, even after clicking "trust this pc" with my pin code Posted: 18 Feb 2022 10:19 PM PST Connecting my iphone to my pc works maybe 1 out of every 7 times I try it, and only multiple reboots of both devices have ever temporarily fixed it (once it worked but the iphone disappeared later on from itunes as I was using it). Other than repeated reboots, is there a way to fix this? Or a solution/temporary fix more convenient than shutting down my computer every time I want to grab a file off of my phone? I have an iPad too and this has never happened on that device, yet with my brand new iPhone 13, it just doesn't work. [link] [comments]
Potential problem with apple refund Posted: 18 Feb 2022 09:07 PM PST Recently, I purchased an app through the App Store by mistake. After contacting Apple support my money was refunded within 48 hours, however the app still remains useable and accessible on my device. This begs the question, doesn't this leave Apple and app developers vulnerable to people who repeatedly abuse the refund policy by buy apps and then refunding them in order to escape the payment? Backup iMessage…delete from phone. Posted: 18 Feb 2022 05:03 PM PST Correct me if I'm wrong. If I back up iMessages to iCloud, I can delete them from my phone and that entire thread will still be saved in iCloud? Also, does the same hold true if I did an iTunes backup. And which would be a better choice? Thanx so much! [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Feb 2022 11:59 AM PST Every other device in my network works fine with my WiFi but for some reason every few hours/days my iPhone 13 pro refuses to load anything on my WiFi until I toggle WiFi off then on again in control centre… any idea what that could be? [link] [comments]

How to avoid crooks if I want to order an app but don't have any developer skills? Posted: 18 Feb 2022 05:47 AM PST Hello. I'm not sure this is the right place for my question, and I'm sorry if it's inappropriate, but for several months now, I've been thinking about creating a scheduler or to-do app that would meet my requirements. I tried everything available in app stores, but unfortunately, there are always shortcomings or too complicated planning processes. Some time ago, a friend made fun of my old-fashioned way of using a diary for my daily planning and suggested switching to something more contemporary instead. Still, after I explained to him how my scheduling system works, he said that he'd happily pay for such an app if it existed. His words made me think that it might be more rational to find a developer and explain to him precisely what I need and finally get a product that suits me and also, hopefully, monetizes my productive planning system along the way. I turned to a person who works in app development, but the price he set for his services is beyond my means, to put it mildly. The only helpful advice I got after meeting him was about a payment solution for apps people use to avoid app store fees and the recommendation to look for a freelancer that will agree to work for a cut of the future revenue. The only problem is that I'm very far from the world of software development and have no idea where to start looking for a freelancer and, more important, how to understand that he's qualified for the job. Given how many frauds there are online, I'd be grateful if you gave me advice on avoiding scams. I'd appreciate it if you let me know where to search for decent app devs (I'm not familiar with other resources apart from Fiverr and Upwork) and how much it can cost me to develop a simple application. Thanks. [link] [comments]
iOS “erase all contents and settings” functionality Posted: 18 Feb 2022 03:25 PM PST Hi, so all i'd like to ask is does "Erase all contents and settings" reinstall ios? So if my iPhone is bugging out is it enough to do this or should I rather restore it in itunes? [link] [comments]
Focus Time: Can you Blacklist instead of Whitelist? Posted: 18 Feb 2022 08:18 AM PST Basically, during the work day I just want to silence a handful of applications like social media, news, etc.. Using what is built into iOS, or a third party app, is there a way to blacklist certain apps on a schedule? [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Feb 2022 03:40 PM PST So, I've been an iPhone user since the original phone. I've been living out of the US for a while and ended up using Android for about a year. Happy to be back on iPhone with the iPhone 13 pro max now. One major thing that I miss and am curious if there is a solution without a jailbreak. On my Android, I can have duplicate apps. Is this possible on iOS? For example. I have 2 facebook messanger apps. Each of them completely seperate, logged into seperate accounts. Is there something similar, or would I need to keep switching back and forth between accounts on the same app? [link] [comments]
Can’t turn on Slack notifications Posted: 18 Feb 2022 09:31 AM PST I have Slack installed and when I scroll through all the apps listed under Notifications in my Settings it's not there. If I go to "Slack" under general settings it's there but it has no option about notifications. Is this a bug or something? [link] [comments]
Can I customize notifications per person/group in messages? Posted: 18 Feb 2022 01:05 PM PST I have groups for family and friends but I dont want to mute the chats, instead I would like to get summaries from the chats every few hours. Is there a way to do this? [link] [comments]
Does the "Find My" app talk to iOS devices outside of your account? Posted: 18 Feb 2022 05:30 AM PST I had a person come to my house saying their kid's AirPods were showing as in my home in the Find My app. Trouble is I don't have any Airpods mine or otherwise. I was wondering if my iPad or iPhone could have pinged them while driving and then reported them when I got home or maybe they could be in the street somewhere. The bigger question for me is if iOS reports to the Find My service and if another person has started looking for their item if my device will send out my info saying it's here? Posted: 18 Feb 2022 12:39 PM PST Hi, I'm using Tasker Android app to automate some tasks (enabling hotspot when my phone see my computer Bluetooth, and some other stuff), I need to do the same, but with an iPhone. Is this possible, is there some similar app on the App Store? [link] [comments]
Posted: 18 Feb 2022 04:13 PM PST Allow us to passcode protect the #AppLibrary. It would provide privacy protection certain apps that we have installed and do not want to put them at the regular pages. [link] [comments]
Is there a way to view all available in-app purchases of an app? Posted: 18 Feb 2022 01:05 AM PST Some apps have in-app purchases that are "hidden", until the app wants to let you see them. Let me try to explain. I use a texting app that charges $10 per month for ad-free and premium features, and also a $7 per week option. Those are the only options available in the app. UNLESS you let you subscription expire, then a modified version of the in-app subscription page comes up and a $20 per year option is available. I can't find any other way to access that $20 per year option unless you let your current subscription expire and get that special menu. It's not available in the subscriptions page in my iPhone settings either. I've had this happen with a bunch of apps, this is just the most recent example. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
