What is apple smoking with these monthly goals?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2022 05:44 AM PST

I just got my January Monthly goal. I need to walk/run an average of 3.9 miles a day to get a total of 123.3 miles this month. I typically walk/run 2 miles a day in a workout then whatever else I get from movement. Which is not generally significant since I work from home and dont go out every day to do things.

Apple really needs to work a break system in to their monthly goals. Maybe a gold, silver, bronze system would be beneficial. You did not make the goal but you made a milestone still.

Hi guys I’ve never had a Apple Watch. I use a IP13pro and have started to use health so much as I work in a warehouse. Do apple watches count how many calories you have burnt thought out the day. (The health app on phone only tells steps in a day) thanks

    Unable to Check for Update

    Posted: 01 Jan 2022 04:54 PM PST

I was able to get an old Apple Watch series 3 for Christmas, that's been fully reset and is ready to be paired to my phone. I currently have an iPhone 11 running IOS 15.2. However, when I load up the Watch app on my phone I'm able to do all the pairing steps until it's time to download a new software update for the Watch. I consistently get the error "Unable to check for update - Checking for a software update failed because you are not connected to the internet" however, I am definitely connected to internet. I've tried uninstalling the app, restarting both devices and much more. Any tips to get it working?

    Lost Apple Watch

    Posted: 01 Jan 2022 03:25 PM PST

I lost an Apple Watch SE back in October and the location has shifted from my apartment to my gfs house. I know for a fact it's been dead since then. I don't usually use it and I do a lot of hands on activities so I have the tendency to remove it and set it down in odd places. Find my phone now says the Watch is at my gfs house today at 11:51 AM and I came back home after spending the night at around noon. I spend a lot of time at my gfs house but I rarely spend the night. It's ALWAYS said it's been at my apartment and I've torn the entire place down looking for it. Anyone have any ideas on why a dead Apple Watch moves location or still shows location history?

Is it worth having in college?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2022 01:58 PM PST

I've always wanted one and I can afford one. However, I was always afraid that it wouldn't be worth the cost or it is a luxury item not worth having at a young age. Anyone university aged who has found it has significant benefits that make it worth the cost?

My best friend left my home country for good, relocating to Chicago. Thank you Apple Watch for allowing me to quickly check the time difference between us.

Do watch bands require a “break in” period or is my skin just not used to watches?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2022 04:32 PM PST

Have a sports loop with my 44mm SE I got, and it's just not comfortable 6 days in.

Feels kind of scratchy wearing it just tight enough to make it not slippy, but any looser than that then it slides on my wrist and it's annoying.

I'm not a big watch guy usually, but I just got my first iPhone ever and wanted to full send having an Apple Watch for convenience (which it has been, super cool!). I just read all the posts saying that the sports loop is the most comfortable thing ever and I disagree. At least now, anyways.

Any suggestions for wearing it or third party bands that feel like almost nothing is there?

Help with setup panic and alert emergency contact for child.

    Posted: 01 Jan 2022 08:06 PM PST

First, I read all the details about configuring the emergency contacts within medical ID so let me explain more.

My child will be starting driving school very soon, and I want to make sure FOR ANY REASON that she could covertly active the alert.
As a parent there is no such thing as being 'too careful', especially in this crazy ass world.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Can I permanently change the end of day for activity tracking from 12:00 AM to a later time?

    Posted: 01 Jan 2022 07:49 PM PST

Some habit tracking apps like Streaks will allow you to set it to a later time, but so far I haven't found a way to do this for activity tracking on the watch. This is a problem if you work out late or if you're tracking mindfulness minutes and like to meditate before going to bed after midnight. Is there a workaround for this that doesn't involve changing time zones?
