Posted: 25 Jan 2022 03:49 PM PST I was told there were updates for several apps on my phone. I went to download the updates and my account was locked for security reasons. I tried all the steps to unlock my account and it still didnt work. Reset my iphone. Nothing. So I logged out of my account to try and log back in, now I am constantly getting "Verification failed. There was an error connecting to the apple ID server" Nothing I do fixes any of this at all. Any pointers? [link] [comments] |
I keep getting prompted to update my Apple ID Settings Posted: 26 Jan 2022 01:13 AM PST This morning I started receiving a prompt to verify my Apple ID and to enter my iCloud password. I kept getting "Verification failed" even after changing my password. Eventually it went through, but my iPhone is still asking me to update my Apple ID settings in the Settings app. I am still getting the Apple ID verification prompt as well. Is this a source of concern, such as a security risk? As far as I read on here, Apple had some issues with iCloud, but that was a couple hours ago and it was resolved. Sorry if this is the hundreth time this question has been asked. Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Jan 2022 04:14 AM PST My 2020 MacBook Air has recently been acting up, while using it the fans go full blast for about a second then the computer shuts down and it does this repeatedly, does anyone know the cause or how to fix it? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jan 2022 06:13 PM PST Can't reach Apple ID servers? Verification failed? You aren't alone. Just talked to support and they confirmed there are issues on their side. www.Apple.com/support/systemstatus Support confirms that when iCloud issues are resolved, login issues should be as well. Can my A1278/Macboook PRo (mid 2012), run three monitors or? Posted: 26 Jan 2022 06:25 AM PST Hey Reddit Apple hivemind, Hope all is well, just looking for a little help as I can't find a direct answer. I've been teach myself some coding recently and while I typically run my Macbook with the computer and a monitor connected to to it, (either an old apple monitor or I run a displayport to hdmi adaptor to a monitor...depending on which monitor I use/my location), I think it'd be easier/nice to have my laptop, my horizontal monitor and then a vertical monitor for code as well (so 3 screens technically). Does anyone here know if I'm able to run two external monitors with my current set up (or if I'd need some special type of adapter)? My graphics card is a Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB. I already Googled it and can't find a direct answer, so I was hoping someone here might be able to possibly clarify. Thanks everyone. [link] [comments] |
iOS devices with a depleted battery not powering on when connected to power Posted: 26 Jan 2022 06:11 AM PST One thing that I've found rather unbelievable with iPhones and iPads is that when the battery is depleted enough for the device to power off, you connect to a charger and can have to wait several minutes for their to be enough charge to power on the device, even though it is connected to the mains power. A Macbook, by comparison powers on straight away when connected to a charger. I've no doubt there's a technical reason for this, but it just surprises me that this is still the case after all these years of product development and evolution. [link] [comments] |

Trackpad doesn’t “click” or “press down” Posted: 26 Jan 2022 06:09 AM PST Hi, my 2020 M1 MBP has lost the "click" on the trackpad - anybody had this before and know a fix or am I looking at a trip to Apple? It's just been away for repair and I haven't used it for 2 months so I'm starting to doubt whether it even had a "click" in the first place! Does it have a "click"?? The feeling that it's being pushed down slightly when you "click"? All trackpad settings are as they should be and I'm running latest OS. Thanks! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 26 Jan 2022 05:48 AM PST I took a screen recording of a game genshin impact for 17 minutes and when it saved the audio wasn't working. I made sure I had my mic on when I took it but it still didn't work. Today I woke up and checked again and it doesn't even play. It just shows the first frame, blurry and a loading sign in the middle and if I try to share it via anything it just says, 'there was an error while preparing to share. Please try again later'. I shared it yesterday to my iPhone and the same thing happened with the loading screen. Other screen recordings as well as audios are playing. [link] [comments] |
Recurring Alarms Turns Off By Itself Posted: 26 Jan 2022 03:16 AM PST Hello, I have an Iphone 12 pro and I'm on version 15.1.1 I was woken up by severe cramps this morning and it made me realize I didn't take my medicine last night. I checked my recurring alarm and sure enough it was off. And my recurring 8 AM work alarm was off too. I distinctly remember the last time these alarms went off and I did not turn them off. I just hit the stop button. My recurring 8:15 and 8:30 alarms are still set even though I hit the stop button on those too. All of these are recurring alarms. I think this has been happening for a while but I always check my work alarm so I just reset it without thinking but I just started this medicine and so I'm not in the habit of checking that alarm. I definitely find this to be unacceptable? Might just start carrying around an alarm clock. And ideas of how to fix this? [link] [comments] |
I lost all my notes and voice memos under icloud Posted: 26 Jan 2022 08:01 AM PST A few hours ago my phone keep telling me to enter my password for my iCloud account and this happened repeatedly until now, even after putting the password correctly. So i tried to fix this issue myself because i'm really bothered/annoyed by it and after a few research and unsuccessful "fixes" i tried the signing out of iCloud then signing back in method. During the signing out process i checked all the boxes to copy the data and stuff so i can recover everything upon signing in. After signing in, everything looks normal as usual until after a few minutes the iCloud password verification pop up appears again. So I immediately went to safari and to my surprise i was in the normal browsing tab so i changed it back to the private browsing tab only to find all my tabs gone. I immediately freaked out and my first response is to go to the notes app to copy some website links and paste in on my safari browser. Well, i failed miserably because all my notes are fucking gone. All my website links, passwords, financial details, peoples contacts that i rather not have in my contacts app, a variety of list and a whole lot of important information gone. Be aware that all my notes are linked with my iCloud account and backed up regularly and during the signing in process i chose the merge data with iCloud option with my iphone so i was surprised when its not on my phone. This also happened to my voice memos app but there's nothing really important in there other than some voice recordings. So I tried and log in to the iCloud website to recover my notes but nothing was to be found under the notes app option. Unlike in the YouTube tutorials, none of my notes were found under the iCloud notes option and it just kept loading as if it was looking for my missing notes but nothing appeared. I'm gonna try again tomorrow just in case the problem is from apple servers and they fixed it hopefully. If you made it this far please help because i really need those notes back and also a way to stop the annoying verification pop up. Thanks and have a very good day to you. [link] [comments] |
Macbook Air occasionally won’t boot Posted: 26 Jan 2022 07:12 AM PST Hey I'm having a hardware issue i think. Basically every 3 days after my macbook air has been working fine, it just randomly decides it will refuse to boot, or it'll pretend to start up and give me the sound effect then cut out and die. I'm thinking I'll have to take it in to be fixed, but can anyone explain why in like 3 days I know it will randomly start working again? Surely if it's a hardware issue it would just be dud full stop. I know it's not a charging issue, I've let it charge for ages and my cords light still turns from orange to green. So like wtf. It's a model A1466 so it's a bit old. Any insight for when I take it in to be fixed would be amazing, thanks! [link] [comments] |
Can't backup over cellular iOS 15.2.1 Posted: 26 Jan 2022 07:04 AM PST Even though I have the option BACK UP OVER CELLULAR turned on, the backup fails. "The last backup could not be completed." All knowledge base articles say, "turn on WIFI". I have a cellular plan. Why should I use wifi? iOS 15.2.1. The only thing that seems relevant is that my phone was switching from LTE to 5G and back again while sitting in the charger, waiting for backup to happen. [link] [comments] |
I tried downloading on Apple, this happened Posted: 26 Jan 2022 07:01 AM PST So when I tried downloading, they said that I didn't use the iTunes Store, so I went there. When I tried to sign into the iTunes Store, they repeated the same message "This Apple ID has not yet been used in the iTunes Store. Which was weird, considering was just signing in. Left MacBook in cold car for 10 hours, won’t stop crashing Posted: 26 Jan 2022 07:00 AM PST I accidentally left my MacBook Pro in my car last night. It was pretty cold outside, between 20-30°F. Didn't notice until this morning. When I got my laptop from my car it was so cold it kinda hurt to touch it. Now every couple minutes it crashes and shows a message like: "your computer has restarted because of a problem, press a key or wait a few seconds…" What is going on??? Can it be fixed? iPhone Compromised Password Alert - it appeared but then disappeared? Posted: 26 Jan 2022 05:22 AM PST I got a message that said 3 passwords were compromised and when I went into "Passwords" under the settings, there was a red icon next to the second bar from the top. I clicked into it and it showed a massive list of passwords that I assumed were the compromised ones. However, since there was more than 3, I went back to the original Passwords page. But this time, there was no longer a red icon on the screen and the second bar at the top had changed to "Security Recommendations" instead. Does this mean the data breach was a false alarm? Or were they actually compromised but Apple just doesn't tell us which ones? In that case, how do I figure out which passwords were the 3 compromised ones? TIA! [link] [comments] |
