A few tips for new Apple Watch Owners Posted: 26 Jan 2022 08:42 AM PST Tips for New Apple Watch Users Always put your watch on and take it off over a soft flooring (like carpet). Be especially careful if you use an Apple silicone sport band as these can easily slip off while you're fastening the band. Before you ever for the first time wear your watch out of the house put on a thin film screen protector. No matter what anyone says, the screens scratch easily, and you will hate yourself for not having done so. Consider buying an extra charging cable. This way you can keep one in your car or at work to top off your watch whenever you're not planning on being active. Don't shower or do dishes while wearing your new watch. The soap will over time damage the waterproof seals used to build your watch and cause it to loose it's water resistance. There are many settings on the watch which you can change that will improve your battery life. One really big culprit is Noise Monitoring. Another is Always on Display. If your watch is under two weeks new, it's battery life will be kind of sporadic. This is because there is a bunch of indexing going on in the internal software on all new watches. Don't stress though, it'll end and your battery life will improve significantly. If you ordered your new watch with an Apple silicon sport band and the underside of your wrist becomes irritated or develops a slight rash, it may be because you are allergic to the nickel used in the manufacturing of the clasp. Switch to a nylon sport loop or some other style of band. Turn your watch off, remove the band, and wash it under gently running cool or warm water about once a week. This keeps it clean and stops the crown from getting all junked up with residue, sweat, dust. Be sure to dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth, and be careful not to drop it in the sink or bathroom. Posted: 26 Jan 2022 06:57 AM PST i wanna upgrade to the SE from the series 3. is it worth it. i want the watch to be able to last atleast 3years before upgrading again [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Jan 2022 09:31 AM PST Great! For some reason (DEFINITELY NOT because of Marketing reasons) but maybe because of HaRdwAre LiMiTaTiONS 🙄 this Unity lights face again is restricted to series 4 and up! Who would have thought! I sometimes really hate Apple for doing this, but even more for still selling series 3 to those (like me once) who had no idea for what shit show they signed up for with the 3. Sorry if I took it a little bit to far here but this just really screws me off [link] [comments]
Reset my watch but didn't unpair it, watch is with someone else. Do they get my notifications? Posted: 26 Jan 2022 09:22 AM PST Hey y'all so I gave an old apple watch of mine to one of my cousins to fix and keep. I did a factory reset but didn't realize I had to unpair it from my account. My cousin (who lives in another country) has the watch now and sent me a message saying they couldn't set it up because it's still paired to my phone. I'm curious to know if they would still be able to see my messages and notifications. I had find my iphone on so I'm not sure if activation lock would've still been a thing or not after the reset. Giving up on Series 6 and wrist detection Posted: 26 Jan 2022 08:52 AM PST I have wrist tattoos like many. Since the Series 6 has the sensors arranged differently (versus dead center on the watch on previous models), it is slightly on my tattoo and any small movement of the watch causes it to lock. Series 3 to 5 I could always find the sweet spot real quick and get it to work reliably. https://imgur.com/rGjBErP (pic of where watch sits/tattoo). I have tried numerous hacks/fixes:
I could wear it on my other wrist, but its tattooed as well and I just cant wear a watch on my right wrist..just not comfortable. I'm about to just disable and it and unlock/lock and use my PIN for Apple Pay. Biggest drawback is the unlocking the iPhone when wearing a mask feature not being able to be used and of course auto heart rate checks. ECG/EKG usually works fine and O2 works fine about 90% of the time with my ink. Wish apple would just give us the option to accept the risk and disable wrist detection while retaining all features. Anyway just more of rant, I love the watch and will continue to wear it. How many have decided just to ditch the wrist detection? [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Jan 2022 08:50 AM PST I got a new iPhone from Costco. I told the lady I was going to activate it at home because I didn't have time to go through that process right then. My plan was to hit another store, buy a case for it, then head home. Well, on the way to get a case, I tried to call my wife with really time-sensitive information. It was then that I realized my old phone no longer worked. I tried the new phone and it didn't work either. Whatever that Costco lady did, she messed up my account. I scrambled to set up my new phone as brand new phone because I couldn't wait the 30-40 min it said it would have taken to transfer everything over from my old one. I just needed a working phone ASAP. I'm wondering if that move was the root of my problem. When I went to pair my watch later that evening with my new phone, I had to set it up again as a brand new watch. I remember having to do that before when I unpaired and re-paired it to the same phone and it was a pain when time was a factor. What did I do wrong and what can I do in the future so that I don't have to go through this again? How to I unpair and re-pair my watch to the same phone or a new one without losing all my settings? Any trekking app that follows rutes? Posted: 26 Jan 2022 05:01 AM PST So, I usually do trekking on weekends, and I have an AWS4. Is there any app where you can put the route and whenever you wanna know where you are, it tells you? Kinda a Google Maps trip. Sorry for my english, not my mother tongue [link] [comments]

Any ideas for usefull apps on apple watch that you would want? Posted: 26 Jan 2022 07:59 AM PST I just bought an apple watch 7, and i want to try developing some apps for it. So do you have any ideas for apps you would like to see/find usefull? I want to try messing around with either rfid, blood-oxygen sensor, og ecg. But any app idea that doesnt involve any of those is also good. Edit: something that can help productivity in jobs, or everyday physical tasks would be cool [link] [comments] |
