iPhone X users are not missing out much Posted: 04 Dec 2021 06:28 PM PST Went from an X to a 13 PM. Wanted better battery life, I got it. Though I reckon my X would have better life if I went and replace its 4 y o and "stuck at 79% health for 1.5 year" battery. Wanted to have my apps not self-close when I am swapping between 3-4 apps due to the 3gb RAM of X. Problem mostly gone. BUT I took a FaceTime, and the the game I was playing still had to reload, after I answered and put the call down. 6gb RAM FFS. Also, being able to treat my X like a workhorse, ie not putting on a case, casually dropping it on the desk, putting it into my pocket or bag without first feeling what is inside, is an advantage of old phones. 120hz ProMotion is meh. Can't see difference unless I try to justify my purchase by doing crazy fast swipes on homescreen or Safari. Hardly noticeable in games even when I turn on 120fps. Funnily enough, I loved the 90hz on my old iPad Pro 10.5 when I first got it. I reckon high refresh rates REALLY matter on bigger screens, as it is more noticeable. Macro is pointless as hell. Point and shoots had it for years. No ideal why people are so excited about it. LIDAR with PolyGram on the other hand is AWESOME. X feels so good in the hands. I tried running with my 13 PM and the sharp edge and huge size just felt like crap. I just held up my X and damn, the lightness of it, the size. Damm... Good phone. [link] [comments] |
