So if we know what were gonna watch on movie night we'd like to download it in full in advance so we don't have to risk periodic buffering and a grainy video. | Posted: 04 Dec 2021 09:32 AM PST Hi everyone, I am planning to get an Apple TV soon, but I have a small concern that I haven't found any precise answer for. The Apple TV has a Photos app that syncs with iCloud. This is great, but I am a little concerned about privacy. Does that mean that if I link my TV to my Apple ID, everybody in the house gets to see all my personal photos in one click? (I have nothing to hide, but I have nothing to show either). I just wanted to know if there is a way to restrict access to the Photos app, or at least prevent it from pulling media from my iCloud account? Thanks ahead of time for your help! | My boyfriend’s Apple TV suddenly stopped working like it should Posted: 04 Dec 2021 11:43 AM PST I was airplaying Disney plus on his Apple TV when it stopped playing. I couldn't get it to start again so I restarted everything. The screen kept flashing and went black. I couldn't do anything and when I tried to turn it off it kept going back like I just turned it on. I turned it off and removed the cables and that fixed one problem, but now the sound is really weird. There is a static in the background and the swiping sound is changed. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'd really appreciate it. I don't know what else to try and I want to fix it before he wakes up. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 04 Dec 2021 08:50 AM PST I have a Sonos Playbar, connected to an LG OLED TV via optical cable. LG TV creates a delay when it's outputting audio to optical in Dolby Digital, so audio is always behind video in my set up. This can't be fixed by Sonos, because Sonos isn't receiving the audio signal quickly enough. Thankfully, my Fire TV 4K stick has a AV Sync Tuning feature, where I can set Fire TV to send audio signal ahead of video signal, to offset the audio delay my TV introduces. I want to buy an Apple TV 4K. Does Apple TV have a feature like Fire TV's AV Sync Tuning, where you can manually set Apple TV to send audio signal ahead of video signal? | Posted: 04 Dec 2021 01:46 PM PST Native atmos sounds good, I like it. However I want that spatial audio (head tracking) feature to work on all my shows. The problem is, for some shows it sounds really bad, a lot of echo, which ruins the experience. To try it out yourself, watch the very beginning of S4: Episode 10 "The Chair Model". I love my Air Pod Max's and spatial audio sounds incredible when watching on my iPad Pro. I was thrilled to see spatial audio come to tvOS, but in my experience the mix has been significantly different (worse IMO) when I pair my APM with my Apple TV 4K. The mix coming from the TV sounds "tinny", as if there is way too much reverb applied to the mix to make the mix sound "bigger." The net result is worse lows and highs when compared to my iPad, and dialogue is unbearably echo-y which has led me to switch off spatial audio in most cases. Hoping this is just a setting I can tweak somewhere, and would love to know if anyone else has noticed this. [link] [comments] | ||

| Frequent lack of audio with new Samsung Frame TV Posted: 03 Dec 2021 06:51 PM PST Good evening, I've had an Apple TV for many years, but just recently upgraded to a new 4K Samsung Frame TV a few days ago. Since we've gotten it, we have had frequent (maybe a dozen times so far) where playing an episode or even resuming from a pause will cause there to be no audio. This has happened in Netflix, HBO Max, and Hulu. I haven't found a cure, though usually if I either stop the show or sometimes force close the app we're in, the audio will work when we resume. I have no accessories plugged in nor connected. It's an HDMI connection straight from the Apple TV to the Frame TV. No external speakers or Bluetooth anything. Has anyone seen this? Am I bumping some sort of button? Is there a setting I have wrong somewhere? Thanks so much for any help you can provide! [link] [comments] | ||
| Long Press not working since TVOS 15 Posted: 03 Dec 2021 08:56 PM PST Ever since TVOS 15 was released I've had issues with long pressing. Anytime I want to hold on an episode to mark it as watched or to open something to get more info it does not work. Posted: 03 Dec 2021 08:32 PM PST I was scrolling through my subscriptions today cancelling the ones that I don't use when I saw that I have subscribed to Apple TV+. So, I decided to jump into the app to see what it was all about. What I found really confused me. It was an array of other subscription services I have (Disney+ for example) that wanted to open another app when I clicked on it? Also, there was an NBA game on I tried to watch that also did the same thing. I also noticed you have to subscribe to channels individually (such as paramount for example.) What in the world is this? What is the point of having an Apple TV+ subscription if I can't even watch anything with it? For reference, I was on the iPhone app. Side note: I am really not trying to complain, just trying to figure out what the benefit of a subscription is. [link] [comments] | ||

So to be able to download apps from the app store I have to create an Apple id. No problem. I did that and then when I sign in on the device it says I must verify the account in settings which then also says I must have an itunes account. To create an itunes account I must install itunes on my pc. Thats ridiculous. Why can't the damn itunes web page let me create the account without installing it? So many hoops. [link] [comments] | ||
| Glitching DualShock only on AppleTV Posted: 03 Dec 2021 01:02 PM PST Is anyone else experiencing some serious glitching issues with their controller on the Apple TV? While gaming, I'm finding my character randomly running, not responding to some buttons, or not responding to the analogue sticks. It is an intermittent issue. But sometimes it becomes quite frustrating to play. At first I thought it was my controller, but it works perfectly on the MacBook. If anyone else found a fix, I'd love to know.
