| Posted: 27 Dec 2021 09:49 AM PST Got an odd one here... and it's been going on a few days. I was out taking photos the other day and something odd happened and the camera crashed on my iphone 12 pro max (15.2). the photo button in the camera app wasn't working (was light grey), i forced closed it. reopened it and it was all black. Re-forced closed it and all seemed fine. Now it seems whenever I take a photo and it syncs with icloud photo it always seems to add an extra one. This was the first time taking photos or even using the camera with iOS 15.2. e.g. if I take one photo it'll start hanging for a minute and then saying "uploading 1 photo" and a minute later it'll say uploading 2. And then uploading 1 photo and then say complete. I've rebooted, force closed the photo app a few times as well as the camera. I've even deleted every photo i took that evening. Though it looked like one of the photos I had to delete twice? (maybe not 100% sure on this though, i could have just tapped wrong and missed it) Additionally, icloud. com, my phone and my macbooks photo app are in sync. So I believe my library to be OK, just seems like that null photo attempt left something lingering. after some testing it looks like it's just normal photo mode on the camera that triggers this, Video and portrait, screen capture etc mode are normal. There's also no real "hang" with the other modes, it just straight up uploads the image/video. Last night I force closed the camera app and this morning and it worked for the first photo but after that… it went back to the uploading 2. I am thinking this is probably a bug that was introduced in 15.2. Anyone else run into this weirdness after 15.2? Or have an idea how I can clear this out/ fix it? [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 27 Dec 2021 08:43 AM PST So I tried charging my iPhone 7 overnight, but when I woke up it was still just showing the battery icon when I pressed the power button. When I eventually get the phone to start up, it shows 1% battery, but no lightning bolt over it indicating it's plugged in (even though it is), and then a few seconds after I try doing something with it it dies again. I would try a hard reset, but my home button doesn't click so it's hard to tell if I'm doing it right. It's an old phone and I definitely should get a new one, but in the meantime I need this to work and I want to avoid going to a repair shop if I can because I just went to one last week. | Is it possible to replace a 1st gen iPhone SE battery? Posted: 27 Dec 2021 07:15 AM PST I have a 1st gen SE that is having battery issues. The battery loses charge quickly and charges slowly. The battery even loses charge during the night when i'm not using it. For example, last night I went to bed at 10pm with my iPhone's battery at 99% and when I woke up at 7:30am the battery was at 1%. It also tends to get really warm when performing OS updates. The battery health states it's at 84%. Other than the battery, my iPhone still works great! Is it possible to have the battery replaced? | Apple CarPlay Steering control issues : can’t control music when Waze is opened Posted: 27 Dec 2021 05:49 AM PST Hello, just got a Europe Ford Fiesta MK8 2021 MY, I have an iPhone 13 Pro with last update and CarPlay is awesome, but like the title suggests, I run into some issues when using the Music App : if I use Waze simultaneously (seems to be a problem with maps or plans too), the steering wheel controls and autoradio buttons end up not responding after like 2 min and I can't change or pause music anymore, and I have to turn off/turn on the music on the autoradio to get control back. Very annoying. Does anyone ran into the same problem ? Any advice ? Tried a force restart, got on with apple chat and they recommended hooking it up to my laptop for a factory reset-no luck at all. Queue going to the apple store today. They looked at it and said it's a screen replacement even though no water damage or visible scratches/cracks were identified. I got the screen replacement and it works now, but they couldn't explain why it happened. I had to pay because it's 13 months old-hopefully the claim with my credit card company will reimburse me for it. Has anyone heard of this happening before? I posted on another subreddit today and was told that 3rd party cases could be the culprit. I was using a spigen bumper case…not sure how that could cause the issue though. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 26 Dec 2021 11:36 PM PST So, my XR (13 months old just out of warranty) died suddenly one fine day. I had no backup on iCloud. Took it to Apple Authorised Service and they couldn't turn it on, instead offered me a new one for a 20% discount, I would lose all the data too. My brother took it to a guy who fixes iPhones and he managed to turn it on but the phone won't received mobile signal now, he said something like the IMEI number of the phone is lost but am not sure what reason he gave. Other than mobile signal, everything else was working fine and the phone was also showing up on my Apple id. I salvaged all my data and decided to factory reset the phone. Big Mistake!! Now, I am unable to get past the set-up screen. I choose language, region, and then set-up starts which gets stuck at "Unable to activate. An update is required to activate your iPhone." So, it is basically a brick now!! I have tried putting it into DFU/recover mode and using iTunes to reinstall iOS but it didn't work. Will Apple's Authorised Service fix it for me? Or Can i trade-in my XR for a new iPhone (in my country, Apple website for a trade-in asks if all buttons, screen and camera work - I won't be able to show the working camera to the delivery person!). | Any Guides for switching Android to iPhone? Posted: 26 Dec 2021 07:49 PM PST I'm finally switching my parents from their android phones (Pixel 2, I think) to iPhones (SE). Looking for the best way to transfer all their "stuff" (contacts, messages, calendar, apps, etc), and if anyone has any tips or tricks. I did the first one, and ended up with duplicate contacts. Which meant I had to go through and manually delete 400 contacts, one-by-one. The Move to iOS app is... ok. Takes forever and then fails before it finishes. I let it run for 3 hours earlier on the first phone and then it errored out, and while it seems to have transferred most things, it definitely missed some items as well. I'm thinking there has to be an easier way. But maybe not? Anyone have any ideas? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
