| Downloaded call trace app also appeared to download Peacock Posted: 03 Nov 2021 08:32 AM PDT Hi, I recently got a weird call and wanted to trace it, so I downloaded the Mr Number lookup app after seeing it on Google (followed the link from Google… first mistake) the link did open up the App Store and I downloaded it, but while it did download the mr number app I also saw what appeared to be the peacock app downloading. | Posted: 03 Nov 2021 07:26 AM PDT I have a bunch of views I have to monitor in Airtable for my work. They are essentially just lists of things I need to do, but 90% of the time they are empty while I wait for something to come in. I'd like be able to continue my day without having to constantly check airtable but I would also like to avoid using email and notifications because I have a bit of an unhealthy relationship with both and I'm trying to minimise my reliance on them. Does anyone know of a way I can create an iOS Widget that displays a live count of items in each view/list? Even if it means I have to sync things with another app entirely Google Sheets. I was thinking I can get the data out of Airtable with Zapier or Integromat but then I need to find a way to get it into an app that has a widget option where I could show the number. I would essentially like a medium size widget with 4 numbers on display. I don't need to interact with them, it's broadcast only but has to be live. Hope someone can help! | Issues with Apple Services on Home WiFi Posted: 03 Nov 2021 07:23 AM PDT I'm really hoping someone on here has had the same issue. I have been having weird issues with my HomePod, the App Store, and even lately apple updates on my home wifi. If I am connected on cellular data or my work wifi, everything works fine. The weirdest thing is that everything else works--Safari connects just fine on my phone/iPad. All of my apps that are downloaded work fine. It's JUST the apple server stuff--and only over my home wifi. Has anyone else had this issue? It can't be an Apple ID issue--because the ID works literally everywhere else. Could this be an issue with a router setting? Really hoping to find some help! I'm going nuts with this! I've wiped all of the devices--it fixes it for a little bit, but then it's right back to the same issue. HomePod loses its internet connection, and the phone/iPad can't connect to Apple Services. | IOS mail notifications not working properly with custom domain Posted: 03 Nov 2021 05:52 AM PDT Hello! For some reason, I do not get proper notifications when I receive mail in my custom domain email address. I set up the custom domain using the new iCloud + features, and I can send and receive no problem, including with push. I've also set up a filtering rule to have all mails sent to my custom address sent to another folder in iOS mail. However, I don't get any notifications for mail received at that address. I can send and receive no problem, and it comes in a timely fashion, but I don't get any sounds/banners/etc. I double-checked, and any mail sent to my "normal" email address properly triggers notifications. I would be very happy to get some advice on this, as the custom domain address was meant to be for my business, but that means notifications are a must!! [link] [comments]  | ||

| Set background app persistence affinity Posted: 03 Nov 2021 04:21 AM PDT Is there a way to set app priority to keep them from being suspended in the background? What I'm looking for exactly is keeping Excel open. I use it to log data at work but often need to open a reference website (Safari) and a PDF (books). Most of them time I can switch between apps without any issues but there are several times where Excel is suspended which closes the workbook - sometimes losing the last 3 or 4 entries, even when out of Excel for less than a minute. What I'm hoping I'm overlooking is some setting that treats an app like the phone treats music or navigation; no matter what's happening it will not suspend those background apps. | These Battery Notifications Have Got To Go Posted: 02 Nov 2021 10:39 AM PDT Why haven't they included an option to stop my phone from receiving big pop-ups that stop me from doing anything else before I click off? Just put it as a notification in notification centre, I don't need to be warned when the battery icon is right there. It's like the 5th time this week where my battery has got to 20% and I've been in the middle of typing a message or browsing the internet just to be interrupted by a battery pop up.
