    Hello everyone. I have an intel MBP 16" for work, connected to 2 LG 4K monitors via a CalDigit TS3 Plus. After work I switch the cable to my Macbook Air M1 and I'm perfectly fine with using only one of the monitors... the problem is that I never know in which of them the image is going to appear. That's a problem because one of the monitors is in front of me, and the other is on the side.

    Is there a way to control which monitor to use with the M1?

    Bluetooth issue on new m1 macbook pro

    Good morning,

    I got my new 2021 16" Macbook Pro the other day and have been having bluetooth issues with it. When trying to connect to a bluetooth device, it just repeatedly connects/disconnects. When it does stay connected, headphones are not visible under sound devices to connect to. Over the past three days of repeated trying, it has successfully paired with bluetooth maybe 5 times. I've tried this with various bluetooth devices (and they all pair just fine with my iphone). I also am unable to locate the device when on Find My. It recognizes it's turned on, but no location, and I think that runs off bluetooth.

    I've already tried a lot of things I found while researching - disconnecting all bluetooth devices, turning off & on again, booting into safe mode (issue still persists in safe mode), reinstalling macOS, clearing the plist files, killing the bluetoothd process, toggling the airplay sharing setting, etc. No success. Ran diagnostics and came back with no issues. Holding option-shift-bluetooth does not come up with any kind of debug option like it's supposed to.

    Apple says my next step is to bring it into the store. Before I do that (and since there's no way no how I'm facing the apple store on a holiday weekend), I thought I'd check to see if any of you have any advice.

    Can I wipe a (formerly) company iPad and do what I want with it?

    Hello,

    My dad has an old-ish iPad (I think it's the first gen iPad Pro?) that has been sitting in a closet for a few years, and he said I can have it. He used to use it for an old company, but that company no longer exists. Can I just wipe the thing and go ahead and set it up like new? I'm just afraid if I wipe it, it may ask for some kind of code or PW upon restart and I won't have anywhere to go for that... thanks!

    UPDATE: I kinda just went for it and it just needed an apple ID to reset, which I had. So we're golden! thanks.

    AirPods lost in hotel room

    Apple believes my AirPods to be with me right now in my hotel room, yet I have been searching for the past 2.5 hours with my family and cannot find them. We have looked everywhere it is possible to look, at this point we are convinced they are not here. But multiple times the Find My app has connected to the left and right AirPods (at random locations within our 3 room suite) and the app shows they are "with me" as of a minute ago.

    Could the Find My Bluetooth be wrong? Or is that impossible?

    Internal microphone not working and headset not detected

    Hi,

    I am having an issue with my daughters iPhone 7. It all started with facetime calls getting dissconnected directly when answering calls. After some troubleshooting I concluded that it was a mic issue, and since facetime cant detect any mic it simply dissconnects the call.

    I cant make any voice memos and any videos recorded are recorded as soundless videos. It is not that they are just silent, there is no audio track recorded at all.

    So I tried to connect a known working pair of earpods, but the device does not detect them at all. Nothing happens when I plug them in and the sound is till being played from the speaker on the phone. The lightning port is OK, at least to the point that it is able to charge.

    Any ideas?

    I have tried the obvious things like restart, reset and restore from backup, upgrading to IOS15 but the behaviour is still the same. Hardware issues maybe?

    IPad mini 3 useless? How to fix?

    Hello, been reading all day that my iPad mini 3 is practically useless unless I go into router settings and change its encryption? Or at least that's what I'm getting from said info. It's iOS 12.5.4 and I guess anything below 13 cant connect to certain newer wifi encryptions. Is there not any other workaround? I don't have access to my routers settings online so I can't change it to something like WPA 2 or whatever it needs. No other workaround though? Don't understand how Apple can practically tell everyone below the 4th generation of iPad mini's to F off. Pls help.

    iPhone 8 plus factory reset

    Hi friends! I recieved a hand me down iphone from a friend of a friend. I know the passcode, but not the apple id, so I can't reset it. I reached out to the friend of a friend but he's disinterested in helping. Does anyone know of some third party software or a work around I can do to factory reset this thing?

    Hi, moving from an iPhone 11 to 13 which in the past I've always done with iTunes on my PC. Is this still the best way of doing things? I've cleaned out extra apps and such so I would like to make my new phone basically the same as my old. I've read that you can just put your phones near each other and have the transfer done this way. I assumed that would take longer than iTunes, is that correct? Is one way or another easier/more straightforward?

    Also, within the past year or so I started using iCloud to store my photos. The photos on my phone only go back a year or so to when I started with iCloud. Before that I would dump everything to my PC and clear out my phone to save space. What do I need to do to transfer over with iCloud? Anything different? I saw the option to have smaller photos on my device which I think I'll use, but I didn't know if I needed to change that setting first on my new phone so that it doesn't download all the huge files? Hope this makes sense, still not really sure how iCloud photos works, just that it backs up my photos (wife lost a bunch when her phone got locked/reset so we started using iCloud then.

    Endless review loop App Store

    So for my job I have to use a macbook. I am not al all an apple person so this came with its challenges, but almost everything is sorted now.

    I am unable to log into the app store however.

    I am in this endless review loop and I have tried:

    • updating payment info
    • setting a billing address
    • logging into other apps (all are fine, just not books, that wants me to log into the app store, with the same problems)
    • Logging my apple ID in and out of my macbook

    Please help. All the info on Apple's support forum is completely useless.

    Is there a way that I can get .flv's, .webm's, etc. to play with QuickLook so that I don't have to open a media player?

    As the title says. I found QLVideo which allows Finder to preview video files as static images, but I'm hoping to be able to watch them in full like I can an .mp4.

    Does anyone know if this is possible?

    2007 MacBook Pro power/sleep mode issues

    When my 2007 MacBook Pro is in sleep mode, the fans spin really fast, and the computer is very hot. When I try to turn it on, it won't turn on. I have to hold the power down to turn it off and turn it back on. It will turn back on without the boot chime for a few seconds then restart and turn back on normally. Then when I sign in it says that I shut my computer down because of a problem, does anyone know why it does this?
