Braided Solo Loop Sizing Confusion Posted: 07 Oct 2021 06:08 AM PDT Well, I was looking to buy an Apple Watch for quite a while now, and tomorrow is the day. I have everything in order (case material, case size, braided solo loop color), but there is just one issue I can't wrap my head around nor find a clear answer to. People on here say to go one size below the suggested size from Apple and that the updated tool is more accurate, so as I measure between 6 and 7, that would be a size 6 for me, right? But then again, the braided solo loop is very expensive, and I want it to last. People on here report that the solo loop (especially the braided one) stretches out over time, which I've seen on pictures as well. So the suggestion is to go 2 sizes down, as it'll be tight for a month or two, but comfortable from there on out and won't stretch out too much. So that would land me at a size 5. BUT NOW, it appears that the new braided solo loops are more tightly woven and therefore may be more resilient to stretching out over time, negating the previous point. Long story short, I am beyond confused and would appreciate some advice. My plan is to go for the Watch with a size 6 braided solo loop and order a separate braided solo loop in a size 5 to try on (Can I easily return the one that doesn't fit? I'm from Germany if that matters in this case). Unfortunately I can't really go into an Apple Store to try some on as the next Apple Store is quite a while away. Thank you in advance! Am I going to regret getting stainless steel? Posted: 07 Oct 2021 07:33 AM PDT I'm 19, and currently only have a fairly small income, but still living with my parents so my expenses are not high. I've had an aluminium S3 for 4 years, and I want to upgrade to a S7 this year. The amount of scratches on the screen of my current watch (and the idea of having a nicer looking watch) is making me really tempted to spend an extra $400 (AUD) on SS, getting the cost pretty close to half of my savings. I'm very conflicted. On one hand, I don't have much use for all of the money I have saved up at the moment. On the other, the idea of halving my savings feels pretty painful. Not sure what to do! Any help making a decision would be greatly appreciated [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Oct 2021 08:18 AM PDT Do people still fall for crap these days. Trying to sell my watch and I get so many scammers. I love the "well I'm not in your state so you can just send COD or PayPal". Of course that's followed up with a fake PayPal email. Sad that in 2021 people still fall victim to these people [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Oct 2021 06:46 PM PDT Series 7 will probably have the biggest update (with smaller bezel and brighter display, which is fairly noticeable) until Blood Glucose Sensor is ready in the Apple Watch. Design: Yeah, Prosser, Mark and Mingchi Kuo have all predicted a redesign this year, but Apple cancelled that for some reason. It's NOT cancelled in last minute. The supply chain said they had never received a boxy Apple Watch prototype. It probably doesn't exist at all. So it's hard to say series 8 will have a dramatic change in design. The current design gives the most comfortable feeling. I personally like iPhone X more than 13 Pro. So a redesign doesn't mean a better design. Battery: It's hard to expect a dramatic improvement without increasing the overall size of the Apple Watch. And charging daily is not a big deal for most of the people. Health sensor: This is the core component of Apple Watch and also why Apple Watch is useful as an extra device apart from iPhone. But Mark and Mingchi Kuo have both agreed that Blood Glucose Sensor is several years away. The next sensor we can expect is body temperature sensor in series 8. But is it really useful? Can you think of any use cases for a body temperature sensor? The body temperature keeps consistent in our body, and it's not like respiratory rate that changes when you sleep. CPU: Based on the cpu improved in iPhone in recent years, I don't think there will be any dramatic improvement. Display: Updated this year. So I won't expect any major update in Apple Watch in next few years until apple can ship the new Apple Watch with a Blood Glucose Sensor, which will probably be 3-5 years away. [link] [comments]
Getting a free Watch Series 2 from Apple to replace my Series 1 which had problems under warranty Posted: 07 Oct 2021 12:34 AM PDT My Watch Series 1 started acting weird on October 1st, with power quickly draining. It's under monthly warranty, so Apple Support did a remote diagnostic and determined that the battery had gone bad. At first they promised a courier would come by the next day with a replacement and pick up my old Watch, but days passed and nothing happened. Finally today I got got an email from Apple saying they can't find a Watch Series 1 so they are offering me a Series 2 instead. Fine with me. Apparently the differences are: includes GPS, fully waterproof so can go swimming, brighter display, longer battery life, faster CPU. Maybe if I continue at this rate, and keep my $2.49 a month AppleCare subscription, in 10 years I'll work myself up to an SE. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Oct 2021 07:40 AM PDT I'm using an Apple Watch SE but I absolutely cannot get all my contacts to sync no matter how many time I reset the sync data or the watch altogether. My contacts are up to date on my iPhone 12 and everything is also synced with iCloud. Is there a fox for this? Been dealing with the same thing since my Series 3 through multiple WatchOS's and iOS versions. [link] [comments]

Going from series 3 42mm to series 7 Posted: 06 Oct 2021 08:15 PM PDT My series 3 was a great watch until it decided not to power on a month ago. I am going to pre-order the series 7 and was wondering which size should I get? 42mm felt perfect and I have a 6.5 inch wrist size. I researched on here and it got me even more confused on which size to get. [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Oct 2021 08:42 AM PDT hey! so i have a small crack/scratch on the left side of my s6 scree. it hasn't gotten worse (idk when it even popped up) but should i go through the hassle of getting it repaired (through apple, with applecare+) or is it still waterproof and everything? i've worn it multiple times in the pool and while washing my hands and there hasn't been any issues that i've known of. i can't tell how deep it goes but there's definitely something there. are there also mechanics here who wear the apple watch during work? Posted: 07 Oct 2021 12:30 AM PDT i would like an apple watch but i am a mechanic and i am afraid i will damage it fast. I really don't want to have a case around it. I put a screen protector on it anyway [link] [comments]
Question about the configuration for the cellular plan on the S7 Posted: 07 Oct 2021 07:32 AM PDT I currently have the S6 cellular version that I got from Verizon last year. It's cracked and beat up now due to it somehow unstrapping when playing basketball and falling screen first on the pavement. I'm going to preorder the S7 tomorrow and going with the cellular version again since it is so convenient. I do have a question about the cellular configuration though. When I got my S6 from Verizon, they set up number share to my iPhone. If I get the S7 through Apple, would I need to take it back to Verizon to transfer the number share over to the new watch, or when I unpair my S6 to backup everything to restore on the S7, would there be an option to restore the cellular plan also? I looked at a guide on the Apple website about transferring the cellular plan, but I'm just looking for some clarification. Thank you. [link] [comments]
S6 battery drained from full charge in less than 2 hours Posted: 07 Oct 2021 07:31 AM PDT For the past few days, my series 6 (non-cellular and non-beta) battery is dying within 2 hours of taking it off the charger. Checking the battery health shows it down to 86%. I have also noticed that the watch itself feels very warm when I take it off the charger. My usage of the watch itself is very minimal. For the most part, it's used as just a watch, only occasionally will I read messages on it if I happen to be away to be away from my other devices. Is it worth doing a full restore on it, or is this common enough that it could be OS related and I need to just tough it out until another update comes? [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Oct 2021 08:07 PM PDT I've just downloaded the new watchOS 8. Since the update, a female voice announces when I close my exercise ring, achieve my move goal, etc. Both Siri and voiceover are disabled. Any ideas how to turn this feature off? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Oct 2021 06:15 AM PDT I'm thinking in getting my first smartwatch and despite not liking the ridiculous low battery life, I'm not liking all the non Apple alternatives and lack of compatibility. So I decided in the SE (budget mainly), but it's a good idea to get one now or should I wait until Series 7 comes out and expect a price drop or maybe wait a year for a rumored SE2 or something similar?
