| My iPhone 12 Pro Max to iPhone 13 Mini Journey Posted: 07 Oct 2021 06:45 AM PDT This will be my diary of how switching from the Sasquatch of the iPhone lineup to the smallest notched iPhone is going. I decided to switch because the Pro Max size was a little overwhelming and wanted a little exciting change with my phones. Day 1: Love the form factor; super nostalgic to my favorite iPhone ever (the 5s). I have already gotten used to the typing, and the Pro Max already looks and feels big to me again. One thing I've noticed already is the battery life difference.. it definitely drains a bit faster which was expected. | iTunes iOS 15 update bricked my phone Posted: 07 Oct 2021 03:16 AM PDT I can't believe the timing of this. I almost never use itunes, but I'm leaving on trip at noon today, so I thought I'd throw some music on my phone. While I was figuring that out, I got a prompt that I clicked without realizing I was actually updating my phone (I thought I was backing it up). The update fails and bricks my phone. I tried it maybe 5 times before I just gave up and decided to factory restore. But here's the kicker: itunes won't let me. Every time I click "restore", I makes me update and restore. I don't want that anymore. I need my phone to be a blank slate that works at this point. Any suggestions? I don't have time to get to an apple store today. I am really not happy about this. | Why are there 2 different iPhone MagSafe arrangements for cases/accessories? Posted: 06 Oct 2021 02:15 PM PDT Some cases have just the circle and some cases have both the circle and the bottom alignment magnet. Why are there 2 versions of the magnet array? Apple's own case line up is inconsistent because the leather case just have the circle and the clear case have the bottom magnet. Some accessories such as the MagSafe wallet tend to be worse with the cases that only have circles (I.e. Apple leather case) than other cases with the bottom magnets(i.e. Apple clear case). It's also inconsistent with third party cases too. Moment, Caseify, and others just use the circle, while Spigen will have bottom magnet arrangement. You'd have to pay attention to the arrangement if you plan on using certain accessories such as wallets, power banks, car mounts, etc. Those of you who have these accessories, do you find it difficult to use on cases with just circles?
