Is it okay to leave my M1 Air off for a few months? Posted: 03 Oct 2021 07:34 PM PDT I just barley ordered an M1 Air and it's arriving on the 14th of October. I'm not opening it until Christmas, because I wanted to buy it early so I'll actually have a present for myself if they do sell out near Christmas (like all Apple products do). I'm assuming it would be fine because they're usually siting at some warehouse for longer before you buy it, but just wanted to make sure. [link] [comments]
Macbook M1 video blue outline issue Posted: 03 Oct 2021 10:55 PM PDT Hey guys, I just bought a macbook M1 recently, and everytime I watch a movie on 123movies, or anime on kickassanime.ru, when I make it fullscreen, and use the spacebar to pause/play, and the arrow keys to go back or forward 5 seconds, it has this weird blue outline on the edges of my screen (when in fullscreen mode), and I have to exit fullscreen, click on the outside of the video, and then double click the video again to make it full screen to go away, so basically I cannot press any keys while in fullscreen or I get that annoying outline. Does anyone know how to fix this? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Oct 2021 09:38 AM PDT Hey guys, I've just bought a new mba m1 which will arrive in two weeks time. Do you guys have any tips on taking care of the device? I plan on commuting with the mac to school and etc, what sleeve would you recommend? Can i carry it in my normal backpack? Any way to clean the screen? Any other accessories that you'd recommend? Any piece of advice is appreciated ☺️ [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Oct 2021 05:34 PM PDT A week ago my Chrome started having some issues—wouldn't load pages because it said "This webpage is not secure" or something like that. Searching a bunch and tried every suggestion but nothing worked. Finally, someone on Reddit suggested that I update my OS (I was using El Capitan, quite old, and had never updated for years). It's a 2015 Macbook. I tried updating today to Big Sur and now my Macbook won't work—it merely shows a flashing folder with a question mark in the middle. I called Apple and we tried to troubleshoot but were unable to do anything. Made an appointment for the end of the week with a Genius Bar. That said, there's a bunch of "computer repair services" near me. The appointment isn't for a week and I need to computer to work for my job etc. Does this sound like a common problem that one of these places can fix? [link] [comments]
Should I get it repaired or should I save up for an upgrade? Posted: 03 Oct 2021 05:09 PM PDT I have a Macbook Pro 2017 13 inch no touchbar. 8gb RAM. I've had it since November 2017. Since that time I have had to replace the keyboard on four different occasions. And in early 2020 I had to replace the screen when it went all funky on me. Right now some of the keys are starting to get stuck again (as they usually do around this time after a repair), and one of my speakers is giving out. It's making a crackling sound and when it doesn't it's just really quiet. It's a shame since I watch movies on this thing. I also see a little white spot on the screen (which is only distracting when the background is white). I use my Mac to edit both audio and video, as well as using Fade In (screenwriting software). This past two years I've been using it pretty heavily day in and day out. I have an appointment with the Genius bar tomorrow. Is it worth paying to get the speaker fixed? I don't know how much it'll cost, but should I just wait to upgrade to one of the new M1s? I'd probably get the Air if that's the case. But I don't currently have the money to do that. A bag for carrying my charger cable, charger brick and an USB-C Digital AV Multiport Posted: 03 Oct 2021 11:39 AM PDT What's the most protective bag for storing my MacBook Air 2020 M1 charging brick, charging cable and an USB-C Digital AV Multiport adapter? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Oct 2021 07:37 AM PDT I open up my MacBook Air and it's at only 64%, which I know it should be at 100% from charging over 5+ hours or whatever. I'm skeptical to reset SMC and it to cause possible further problems (very slim I know) as I've had ethical dilemmas with going to an Apple Store before and them trying to claim water damage on me, originally with my first MacBook Air that I had to replace in 2014 with this one. I've restarted the laptop itself and it seems to be charging for now but a little slow. I haven't noticed any major charging or running issues prior to so I was completely baffled to find this. What should my next steps be? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Oct 2021 05:18 AM PDT Hello! I encountered an issue where on my M1 MacBook Air, quite often, the cursor stutters. Almost looks like the cursor is screen tearing. A restart always fixes it. Sometimes it only goes for a few seconds, other times a minute, and other times it's there till I restart. It lags, stutters, and blurs. Looks like there are 2 cursors for a split second. This happens on an external display too, so I'm pretty sure it's software. Before you ask. Both displays are at 60hz. This is also happening with both the trackpad and an external mouse. Changing the tracking speed doesn't help. Is there anything you recommend I do before I reinstall the OS? That's a last resort and it's a pain transferring the files around. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Oct 2021 08:38 AM PDT Hey all, looking to purchase my first MacBook. As a long time windows user, I'm familiar with specs, and how that particular OS runs. However from a hardware/longitivtiy standpoint should I go with a Pro or Air? I plan to start my own business, use it for website development, a small amount of light video editing, and taking online classes. Just want to know if the Pro might be overkill before I shell out that much. Thank you all :) [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 Oct 2021 07:11 AM PDT Hi Guys. Is it bad to charge your MBA M1 2020 with a Samsung 25W PD Adapter? I'm worried it will affect the battery. [link] [comments] |
