3 finger drag is my new favorite trackpad setting. Posted: 08 Oct 2021 06:55 PM PDT I can't believe I just figured out that this exists. It's literally a godsend. PLUS you can 4 fingers swipe up for mission control, something I use about 100 times per day. Dragging was always something that felt weird with the MBP trackpad, even though I absolutely love everything else about it. Now it feels perfect. I'm sure plenty know about this, but in case you didn't or just needed a reminder. Give it a try. [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Oct 2021 07:12 PM PDT Hi! Does anyone use their Macbook Air M1 with an external monitor? Planning to buy one soon but still having a hard time choosing which one to get. My plan was to get a 27-28" 4K 60hz one. Any thoughts? Read that its hard to read text on a 4K display with MacOS. My other option was an Ultrawide 1440p 144hz monitor. Has anyone here tried using mac with an ultrawide? Or should i stick to the normal 16:9 ratio monitors? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Brand new 2019 pro not charging out of the box. Posted: 08 Oct 2021 03:08 PM PDT I just bought a brand new 2019 MacBook Pro from the store that i work in, got a really good deal on it. When i brought it home and set it up i noticed that the battery status was displaying "Replace Now"… I've contacted apple and they want to charge me 200€ for a new battery even though i just bought it. I'm currently waiting for it to reinstall MacOS to roll out the possibility of a software bug. I've also reset the SMC multiple times. I've also tried three Apple USB C 20w chargers along side the bundled mac charger, none manage to charge it. Has anyone got any idea what this could be? I've read online that it could be the charging connection pins inside the unit or something, but I'm not voiding my warranty by opening the mac to check. I'll be taking it to one of our flagship stores which can deal with repair issues. Hopefully the factory reset will do the trick and if so i'll comment below my findings. [link] [comments]
MacBook Pro (mid 2012) won’t boot Posted: 08 Oct 2021 01:14 PM PDT I just got this hand me down MacBook Pro from my parents, the keyboard and touchpad didn't work but I was able to use a usb keyboard and mouse. I installed boot camp to my Mac and now it's stuck on a black screen that says "No bootable device — insert boot disk and press any key" I tried to switch ports with my USB 2.0 flash drive and click all sorts of keys with no luck. I've tried multiple keyboards and none of them even respond. Someone please help me. [link] [comments]
Looking for recommendations for drawing pad for school notetaking Posted: 08 Oct 2021 07:31 AM PDT Hey all, are there any good options for a small drawing pad that I can use with my M1 Air to supplement my school notetaking? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Oct 2021 11:01 AM PDT Searching for a 24 inch monitor for productivity usage, to go with my macbook pro - max £250. So far I'm interested in:
Seems they all offer something different, AOC the higher refresh rate (although I don't game so not sure if this is really an issue), the Dell has USB-C which is nice but could just use a dongle, the LG has the highest resolution but at 24 inches not sure if that is really needed. Also grateful on if there are any other monitors you'd recommend. Thanks! [link] [comments]

I am looking for someone to bring me an ifixit kit from US to India. The kit would be delivered to your place and I would pick it up from wherever you are landing. Please let me know.
