    New AppleTV logged in under my Apple ID is asking for my dad's AppleID password. Can't find any similar scenarios online. Anyone heard of this?

    Hello! I just upgraded my apple TV to the new 4k version and I'm having a strange issue I can't find anywhere on the internet.

    I logged in and set the ATV up and it's logged into my Apple ID, [me@gmail.com](mailto:me@gmail.com). All of my apps downloaded. When I open any third party apps (for example Showtime) it's asking me for my DAD'S Apple ID password. I have 2 options, settings or not now. If I click settings I'm asked to type in the password for [dad@gmail.com](mailto:dad@gmail.com). If I click not now, I'm taken back to my homescreen and cannot open that app.

    I have checked my settings and logged in and out a bunch of times. I have an Apple One subscription tied to a family plan with my fiance, dad, and mom on it, I'm the head of the family plan.

    My dad has an apple TV with a lot of these apps on it and it's set up under his Apple ID, [dad@gmail.com](mailto:dad@gmail.com). Last week my mom texted me for my Apple ID password and said THEIR TV was asking for my Apple ID! Something weird is going on.

    Anyone able to offer any help?

    iPad Air can’t find AirPrint printer, iPhone XR can.

    I have a canon pixma pro 100 that I am trying to connect to via AirPrint on my new iPad Air.

    I can find it off both my iPhone XR's, and I've power cycled and reconnected the printer to wifi.

    I've ensured the printer and ipad are on the same network, it is not a dual band network.

    I'm lost for solutions, has anyone found the same issue?

    Best Mail App to Track Who Opens Your Emails

    What's the best mail all I can use on Mac to track when emails are opened? I'm sending cold email, so I'd need to track this.

    Preferrably a free app, or one-time payment, not subscription.

    I know of Mailbutler, but their free option has a watermark on it, which renders it bad for my purposes. Any solid alternative I can consider? Thanks!

    My iPhone order was delivered to the wrong place

    UPS delivered my iPhone order to my neighbor. Luckily, I was at home and saw the UPS driver deliver the package to my neighbor's house at like 9 PM and was able to get it from my neighbor. (I checked the tracking details, and it said "Delivered" at the time I saw the UPS guy.)

    Even though I got my package, this is still so frustrating! The "Proof of Delivery" on UPS says that the driver "Met customer." (They did not ask for a signature.) I can't imagine what would've happened if I hadn't seen the UPS truck. Should I still report this issue to Apple customer service? Not sure what my point would be when I talk to them, but man...

    Late 2013 27" iMac endless kernel panic boot loop, no recovery mode, no safe mode. Could this finally be the end?

    Hi gang.

    My stalwart, long suffering, incredibly trusty iMac may be knocking on death's door.

    It is a late 2013 27" iMac, running the latest version of macOS Catalina 10.15.7. 32GB RAM, Intel Core i7. 1TB SSD. Model A1419 (I think).

    Today it hard crashed to a kernel panic. Tricky to explain, but the crash felt a lot 'scarier' or more... serious than a standard crash. It was clunkier, took longer, and the OS truly locked up, and then flickered out with some weird graphical glitches. Very grim.

    Following the crash, the iMac started a reboot loop, ending with a kernel panic after the Apple logo progress bar hits about 75%. This is repeatable and what happens now every time the computer is powered on.

    Note that the FIRST time the iMac attempted a reboot, the Apple logo/progress bar had a visible graphical glitch a handful of times before hitting the kernel panic. I haven't seen the graphical glitch since.

    Here's what I've tried so far, with no luck:

    • Boot into Safe mode: no dice. Progress bar fills to 100% then stops. No further.
    • Boot into Recovery mode: no dice. Progress bar fills to 50-60% then stops. Doesn't go further.
    • Boot from bootable installer drive: no dice. I created a brand new bootable drive with a fresh download of Catalina. I could get to the drive selection screen, but after selecting the boot drive, the progress bar takes me to 50-60% and then stops. Nothing further happens.
    • Boot from internet recovery mode: no dice. I got the globe with the progress bar. Progress bar fills to 100%, then the system restarts with a chime. Then I get a progress bar to 50-60% which triggers a kernel panic, and then an endless boot loop.

    I think that's pretty much it in terms of trouble shooting options.

    I am going to attempt to access the SSD tomorrow via Target Disk Mode, but I don't have high hopes. All my critical files and projects are safely backed up (thank you Google Drive/Filestream/CloudHQ + AWS) + local external copies, and 90% of my other sundry files, documents and other bits and pieces of data on the iMac are also all totally fine. I've been expecting the iMac to die for, like.. A few years.. So I've been pretty meticulous with backups. But I'd still like to be able to access the SSD if I can, because I'm sure there are some bits and pieces of data lying around that might have not been included in my "big important directories get backed up but maybe don't worry about all the crap in your downloads folder" protocol.

    I have an appointment with the Genius folks on Monday to get an official diagnosis, but I thought I'd see if anyone here has any thoughts.

    Any help or insights would be appreciated.

    A couple other thoughts on this whole thing:

    • This iMac was a truly incredible computer. It was the sturdy, reliable backbone of eight years of essentially non stop, pretty heavy duty work. It has never given me any problems, and it's been through some less than ideal living conditions (like living next to a dusty prairie window for a year or two). To this day, it has been fast and responsive enough to every single task I have thrown at it and never blinked. Incredible machine.
    • This is a super, super shitty time to be needing to buy a new mac. I was going to upgrade — finally — when the new 27"(or 32"?) M1 or M2 or whatever new version eventually comes out, but it seems that may not be for a little while yet.
    • I thought I might be able to tide myself over with an M1 Mac Mini, but I am not sure it's a good time to get one of those, either, though there may be an upgrade launched at the end of this month.
    • Falling back to my 2017 Macbook Pro with 8GB of RAM sure does feel like a huge step backwards. I think it will probably catch fire once the thunderbolt hub I ordered arrives tomorrow to power 2x external displays. We'll see.

    Bought new iPhone 13 pro, can't transfer data using iTunes

    I traded in a 256GB iPhone 11 for the iPhone13 Pro 128GB. I didn't use the iCloud but just backed up the phone using iTunes on a Windows PC. When I try to restore everything to the new phone, it stalls and I get a message saying "Not enough space on new phone to restore"

    I understand that I made a mistake and my backup file is too big (photos, downloads, etc). Is there any way I can just get my contacts and text messages from the encrypted backup? The old phone is gone, I traded it in. I have lost all my texts, contacts, everything. There must be some way to get the essentials off the encrypted itunes backup on my PC?

    I got an ipad air last week with the monthly apple care. Yesterday I cancelled it because I thought I was going to return it but I ended up keeping it. Well today I tried to buy apple care on the website but I could not find my ipad on the devices like the first time I did it. Is it not renewable? Its only been 7 days

    My iPod Touch keeps showing me the wrong album art for my songs.

    [Not Solved] Hello. So, I have an iPod Touch 7th generation that is running the newest version of iOS 14. I want to fix my problem before I upgrade to iOS 15. My problem is when ever I add a song to my iPod it just gives the song a random artwork. I add all my songs manually on windows iTunes. I also add my artwork manually from an image I saved. On iTunes the songs have the correct artwork. When I add it to my iPod its wrong on the iPod but correct when I look at it on iTunes. If I add a song with no album art it's just shows the generic music logo, but as soon as I add one it just picks a random artwork. Even when I delete the album art it just picks a random album art. Also deleting and re-adding the song does not fix the problem. This problem only seems to happen with songs I added after August 2019 around the time I think I downloaded iOS 14. I feel like I fixed this problem before but I don't remember how to and I can't find were I read the solution. I've gotten fed up with it and I just want to fix it now. I also want to prevent having to delete everything off my iPod because I have like over 2,000 songs on it and I don't want to have to re-add them all. bellow are some screen shots that might help explain my problem.     Ipad Pro wont recover, error 4005

    After some help, my Ipad Pro (2nd Generation) stopped working. Randomly it started turning off and would reboot using the force restart (home button + lock button). Then that stopped working one day. Now I have an ipad that wont turn on even after being charged, and the force restart does not work or put it in recovery mode. No apple logo or charge symbol is displayed. Just a completely black screen. Windows 10 pc and itunes also do not detect the ipad when i plug it in.

    I tried to restore the ipad by putting it in DFU mode. When I put it in DFU mode, itunes recognises the Ipad and asks me to restore. When i start the restore, it gets stuck on "Waiting for Ipad" and there is a 4005 Error. I also here the disconnect sound on my computer.

    Does anyone have any tips on how I can fix this?? Is the ipad stuck in DFU? Why does it disconnect and why am i getting a 4005 error.

    Ive tried changing computers, cables, charging it over night. Updated Itunes. Nothing works. Thanks :)

    I put an airtag on my daughter's bike and I would like my husband to also have access to it. He is an android user. I don't see a way to do it but I am probably just missing something because that seems like it would be a common use-case.

    Phone shutoff glitch

    My phone has been glitching on and off for the past 3 days. At random times it will start delaying, then randomly start shutting off every 2 minutes. And when I turn it back on before it shuts off again, the battery displays as 0% and not charging even when it is. Also, it will not save anything I did in those 2 minutes before it shuts off again (like social media stories I watched will show up un-watched, messages I received won't show up, and anything I was typing goes away. It is on and off so it will sometimes fix itself and I don't do anything different to fix it so I have no idea what's causing this issue. I had a similar issue with my phone randomly shutting off 6 months ago, but that was with my iPhone 8 and I solved the issue by buying more storage and upgrading my phone to an iPhone X /10 with much more space. So I don't understand why this issue is happening to my new iPhone X with a ton of extra storage. Please help, my phone shut down twice while writing this 😭 I have an iPhone X / 10 with ios 15

    Can't drag files into Itunes library

    Over the past few days, I haven't been able to drag music files into my Itunes library anymore. I have tried multiple fixes and had no luck. When I try to drop the files into the library the cursor says "link" and it seems to do nothing. I am beyond frustrated with this software so any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Can't access "Billing Info" anymore

    Hello,

    When trying to buy from iTunes, I get a notification to check my "Billing Info". But after I press this "Billing Info" button, nothing happens/loads. Also, some of the links do not work on my Account page (links to change the payment method, billing address, region etc).

    This problem happens on my two PCs that both have Win 8.1 and the latest version of iTunes (12.10.11.2) installed.

    The problem started suddenly around two weeks ago (prior to that I hadn't changed any settings or updated software).

    Here's what I've tried so far (on my both PCs):

    • Signed out of iTunes
    • Authorized/Deauthorized the computer
    • Completely reinstalled iTunes (deleted all the iTunes folders prior to installation)

    I turned my iCloud photos off. I cleared my entire Icloud photo gallery so I don’t have anything left in icloud photos right now. However, if I turn icloud photos back on now there’s no way the photos would return on my device since I already deleted them all on icloud, right? Just making sure

    Ok simple question, iMac, osx 11.6, truetone disabled, auto adjust brightness disabled. Brightness keeps raising itself and Im getting literal and figurative headaches lowering the brightness every few hours. Anyone know how to fix this bug?

    So I just got the iPhone 13 after my 7+ slowly begun giving up on me (rest easy buddy) and now I'm really excited because this is my first time with true tone display, portrait modes, front camera portrait, animojis, and what not and of course the beautiful cinematic mode.

    So I just wanted to know what are some of the things you do to maximize your phone's lifespan? Like charging overnight, etc etc I just wanna know a good way to keep this guy running smoothly for a good 4-5 years at least. Cheers!

    ECG Questions. Series 4&5 vs 6

    What is the difference between the ECG feature on the series 6 & 7 vs the series 4 & 5? Is there an ECG on the 4 & 5 or do you have to download a separate app? If so, does that app behave the same as the whatever feature is on the newer models? I'm having a tough time getting straight answers from Google here.
