iPad Mini 6 Screen Clearance Issue Causing Discoloration and Distortion… Needs a Recall Posted: 05 Oct 2021 09:11 AM PDT The more we can get people to raise this issue, the greater chance there is of getting a recall. I got my 64gb Wi-Fi iPad Mini 6 just about a week ago and noticed that there seems to be an LCD clearance issue - if your put your mini in vertical orientation (with the power button on the top right) push very lightly on the screen and you will see distortion and discoloration about an inch down and in from the top right. On most models this will happen in three spots along the top of the display (when vertical). I tested it alongside a Genius Technician and he ordered a replacement. A week later (today) the replacement had the same issue but worse, I ended up just keeping my original! The Genius this time tested all the other display models and found the same issue (tip: it's much more prominent on a dark screen, go into dark mode and. Open notes for example). He was very surprised and mentioned that I should keep my eye out for a recall — he said he wouldn't be surprised if there is one. Try it out yourself. Put it in dark mode and open Apple notes with a new blank note (so you can see it more clearly). Make sure you are in vertical orientation with the power button on the top right (just so we are all talking about the same area of the screen) and *very lightly push on the screen and you will find large discoloration and distortion on one particular spot about an inch down and to the left from the top right corner. This IS NOT discoloration from pushing to hard which would show up under where your finger is pressing. This, instead, seems to be a clearance issue between the housing elements and the LCD. You can move your pressure around the affected area within a radius of about three inches and the LCD will still show discoloration in the SAME spot. In fact, if you look at the attached takedown picture, you will see that the discoloration is occurring RIGHT near where the corner of the battery ends and the logic board begins. There also could be some ribbon cables tucked right here that I am not able to see… None the less this is a legitimate issue. I used to replace screens and batteries unofficially and whenever a ribbon cable wasn't folded just right it would push up on the LCD display and cause this exact issue... It's a clearance manufacturing issue that occurs with at least mine, my replacement, and every other model display at my local store. Hopefully we can raise the issue enough to get a recall on it….. Posted: 05 Oct 2021 10:00 AM PDT Hey! Seems people are getting a "balance adjustment" on the Apple Card and it matches perfectly with the 3% missed cash back. I did not get an email, nor did any steps with them. The process may be automatic based on failed purchases with Apple Card and placing it with a different card. Anyone else? [link] [comments]

Does anyone else miss the form factor of the iPhone 5/5S/SE? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 08:17 PM PDT I wanted to like the iPhone Mini. I really did, but it is still a little too big. What I mean by that is I like typing with one hand and the screen is just a little too wide to type with one hand. I kept hoping they would just make an iPhone SE 2016 with a full screen, instead of the home button being on there. Even now, I just buy the iPhone 2016 SE edition as opposed to the iPhone Mini. I'm also not happy with the way Apple has sort of pushed the price tag of the iPhone even further up than it already was. I just... I just don't care for the "Galaxy" iPhones. I know there are people who like them, but I really don't want to be on my phone for that long. Siri fulfills a lot of necessities too I guess. I can't move around with the phone in my pocket as well. Once or twice, I've had a big phone and I do a lot of moving around at my job. The phone would end up getting bent. [link] [comments]

Have You Endured a Bad Experience With a Product Refurbished by Apple? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 04:42 PM PDT Louis Rossmann made a video about Apple being sued for low quality refurbishing. I wanted to buy a refurbished iPad from Apple. I did a lot of research on it, and most people see it as a great deal. Only a few people said they had a bad experience with a refurbished product from Apple. I have heard so many people say that they do the best refurbishing out of any company. Have you endured a bad experience with their refurbished products? ——- Data: I have read dozens of comments and forums on the internet. There were only a few people out there who had issues with a refurbished product. It is important to point out that most of these were with older products. Again, most people who responded to this post said they had no issues with this program. Albeit, most of the comments were about iPhones. There might be a higher standard set for refurbished iPhones as they are their best selling product. Could this be why it took them so long to sell refurbished iPhones in countries outside the United States? Two people who left a comment under this post had a bad experience with their Apple product. The first one was with a MacBook battery. They said it died instantly. Apple says that they replace the batteries of refurbished products, so either Apple lied or there was damage elsewhere in the community. Apple says they test everything, and that they are just as reliable, so this is their fault. Another person had issues with an AirPort. Quite an old product at this point. Could Apple have upped their game within the last few years? It is also worth mentioning that I posted this on an Apple community, a community where fans of Apple gather. That might have been a bad idea. I doubt it, though. Thank you for responding! [link] [comments] |
