A body case for MacBook Air M1? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 09:55 PM PDT I use a case on everything I own (pun intended). Does it make sense to use a case on a MacBook Air? I am kinda clumsy and feel really nervous that I will scratch the laptop or probably ruin its body in a few months. Please provide any recommendations if you use a case for your MacBook too! MacBook Air M1 decided to die last night, and came back to life in the morning. Posted: 05 Oct 2021 09:53 PM PDT I don't know if this issue can go on or not but last night my MacBook Air M1 died on it's own. I can't turn it on, I tried to reset the NVRAM, even tried the SMC as a desperate attempt. This morning, it woke up like nothing happened. It ran like normal. But my concern is if my Mac dying is a sign which I should worry about? Should I go and have it checked? [link] [comments]

All I have is USB C inputs, using the M1. Why Can't I find an adapter that takes USB C inputs? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 02:14 PM PDT So I might be wording this wrong but, my previous MacBook pro had 4 USB C ports, so I bought new USB C cables for it. Now I got the M1 it only has 2 usb c ports, cool let me buy an adapter, then there's literally no adapters with more than 2/3 usb c ports???? All USB A etc... Anyone found a solution? I need like 4 usb c plugged in at once to work [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Oct 2021 05:52 PM PDT I've got a 2014 retina MacBook Pro 15, that's had a screen replacement in the past (not by apple) and I was having major issues with not being able to adjust brightness in any way while I was on macOS Big Sur. I was in contact with apple support but it was no help. I have downgraded to high sierra and now my brightness works which leads me to think it's software. But now I'm wondering if anyone out there has any idea when the lack of support for brightness started? I want to update to Mojave but I don't want to lose brightness functionality and have to restore back to high sierra again. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Oct 2021 01:23 PM PDT Hello everyone, I just bought a Macbook Air M1 8Gb/256Gb and just before opening the box i read some forums and articles saying that the 8Gb/512Gb is better because of the 1C adding (8 cores). I'm wondering if I should go for the 8C version or Macbook Pro ? I mainly will use it for work (office and emailing), some photos & videos editing and maybe gaming as I can run Arcade. What do you recommand ? Thank's a lot [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Oct 2021 11:02 AM PDT I'm thinking of buying my first Macbook. I'll be using it mostly for web development and hopefully, mobile dev. I'm not quite sure if it's better to wait for the M1x (since, based on leaks, it would be launched this month or so)or just buy the available M1. If I'm going to buy now, In terms of performance, Is the air 16gb 512, enough or should I go with the Pro ? Thanks [link] [comments]
Just ordered MacBook Air. What should I expect? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 05:03 AM PDT So I am switching to MacBook Air M1 from my almost 9 year old Toshiba. I have never owned a MacBook before. What should I expect? [link] [comments]
I'm a writer, and I want to make the best use of my MacBook Air (2013 model). What all can I do? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 08:17 AM PDT I've always wanted to buy a Macbook Air for my writing. Its portability and lightweight being the features that made me choose it in the first place. It has been nearly a year since I bought this refurbished edition.. and I love it. For my writing, I mainly use the basic version of Evernote on this device, and sometimes Google Docs. As I'm a writer, I do the below tasks more frequently and want to get some suggestions on how to better my user experience and efficiency in the usage of the device:
I started using the Apple Books app for epubs. It's cool. But when I recently loaded a PDF book into the app and launched the book, it still opened it in Preview mode... which felt strange to me. Doesn't Apple Books have its own PDF reading ability? Which other app is better for PDFs on a Macbook (preferably a free one). That's it for now. Based on my above usage and requirements, can you please suggest me how to improve my user experience on this super sleek device.. especially those tips that can help me in utilising the Macbook in the best way for my writing? And one more thing... Macbook is the only device from the Apple ecosystem that I own for now.. (apart from the iPod Classic 6th Gen 160GB that is). Thanks in advance, all. [link] [comments]
256gb or 512gb MacBook Air storage? Or 8GB or 16gb ram? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 07:42 AM PDT I won't be doing anything really heavy, just general surfing web, streaming shows, Microsoft office work etc. People have said to get 16gb ram if I want it to last longer in the future. So I'm currently deciding between what to increase the ram or the actual storage? I do have a old windows laptop which is semi-fine and I plan to keep all my stuff on there which I don't need. I also don't want to spend too much so I can only increase one thing. Thanks for your help [link] [comments]
Help Tracking Down An Old Program? Posted: 05 Oct 2021 06:13 AM PDT Okay does anyone remember this app from the old school issued MacBooks back in the day? (like, I wanna say late middle/early highschool for me so... Like 2006/2007? back in like... the HEYDAY of GarageBand) My beloved old girl (a MacBook pro 13 from 2011 - still up and kicking, but needs a new battery that I can't quite afford at the moment) was apparently just a couple years after when they stopped including this app. It was like... A journal type app I think, that came factory standard, promoted for taking class notes and subjects, but it was the BEST app for writing stories I'd ever used. It had these tabs along the left side, like a toolbar, but visually splitting each "Subject" into different headers that I used to have all my in progress fics in one place, as different "entries," with all the chapters visible as subsections of them. Ive been trying to find this software or a very similar version for AGES now, and I can't quite seem to find the right one? Anyone got any ideas? EDIT: This program was VERY similar to a current app called "Outline" in the way it was set up. However Outline was developed/released in 2011/2013, and I'm looking for something I was using 5-6 years prior. [link] [comments] |
