| IDK What Happened to my Iphone 7 Posted: 15 Aug 2021 06:51 PM PDT So I cracked my Iphone screen by being dumb and swinging my lanyard near it. Flash foward to me having it near a pool (I know, dumb). There was like one or two drops of water on it. Now my home button doesn't work, my phone won't play videos, and it won't vibrate at all. I checked the water damage indicator on it and there is no sign of it so I have no idea whats going on. What is it and how much would it cost to repair? [link] [comments]  | ||

Right now I have my phone on front facing camera with a remote shutter. id like to use the nicer rear cameras though, but I need to be able to see what im shooting to fix my poses etc. Is there a way I could cast and view live on my laptop or tv? The phone is still online as it shows up on Find My iPhone but it's not at a location we can retrieve it. She doesn't have a paid iCloud subscription. Is there any way to pay for it now and retrieve her notes and photos or is it too late? It's really the photos and videos that she wants back - three years worth. | How to fix broken charging port? Posted: 15 Aug 2021 03:29 PM PDT So the charging port on my 4 year old 8+ no longer works. And before you say clean it out, I have. Cleaning it out used to work but it doesn't anymore. Even with a fully cleaned out port, it's still incredibly loose and doesn't charge. It used to work at super specific angles, but now it doesn't work at all. It's definitely my phone that's the problem because I've tried multiple cables and devices. These cables all work on different devices, but none of them charge my phone. This isn't a problem for me because I do most of my charging wirelessly anyway. And I have two wireless chargers that I use to keep this thing topped up. However, my mom wants me to upgrade and give her my phone. And while I'd normally be on board, I'd like to make sure that she has a working charging port first because she doesn't want to use wireless charging. Is there a good way to fix this? Anyway I eventually managed it and set my preferences to how I had them before, and that is to get banner alerts on both my lock screen and home page. However, ever since, the alerts do not display, and it is only when I open the mail app that the emails arrive. If I go a number of days without checking, and then open the mail app, I get a flood of banner alerts one after another. Why are the emails sitting there waiting for me to open the app, rather than d/l in the background and showing as banner alerts as per instructed in my settings? | Iphone Camera stops working after restart Posted: 15 Aug 2021 05:54 PM PDT Every time I restart or update my iphone x, I get a pop-up saying "face ID disabled" and my camera app shows a black screen. When I press the button to take the picture, nothing happens. However, after a few days (sometimes weeks) the camera returns to normal as if nothing happened. My phone is fully updated, and I've been having this issue for a few months. It only does this after the phone is restarted, and it happens 100% of the time. It does not do this at random. | Posted: 15 Aug 2021 01:13 PM PDT First off, the MVNO I have been using has been great, and is absolutely worth the ridiculously low price it offers for unlimited cell phone service. But of course when I say "worth" it, I mean just that. Over the last 2 years I've had really good/largely reliable service with the occasional missed call or SMS/MMS here and there. Group texts where everyone else has an iPhone (I'm using a Pixel 3, awesome phone btw) can be brutal when I or someone else isn't receiving my pictures or vice versa. But maybe that's an iMessage thing, I'm not sure. Not to go into too many specifics, but this girl I am seeing ran into this issue with me and was unable to reach me one weekend. And neither were other family members of mine. She was slightly upset and did bring up the argument that in an emergency, a situation like that would be a huge no-no; and I actually agreed with her and mentioned getting an iPhone wouldn't be a big deal. To be clear, I have ZERO qualms with switching from Android to iPhone. You're not gonna find product bumper stickers on my car, I don't hold candles or fly flags for giant multinational corporations, and I honestly could give a fuck less what the letters on my phone say or where it comes from. And yes, that includes the sweatshop it was manufactured in. I just don't care one goddamn bit. I want something RELIABLE, and that truly is all that matters to me. Are people with iPhone's running into these missed/not registered calls, SMS and MMS? If anyone using both an iPhone and whatever 3rd rate service (MVNO) could help shed a little light for me that would be wonderful. Because while I have no qualms with switching between phone brands, I'm not too keen on giving up my $25 unlimited data plan. I don't use the Wifi at my house, or work, and I'm constantly running apps like Spotify, so I average about 18-20 GB a month. Will iMessage eliminate the issues with dropped calls/texts? Or will i need to actually go to one of the big carriers like Verizon or AT&t, and say goodbye to my super cheap cell phone service... Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks. The only thing that I would like for this iphone to have is longevity and reliability. The only thing that she would be using it for is social media, texting, calling, and maybe video chatting. I honestly don't see a point in getting the higher end models since she won't actually be doing any that would require a stronger cpu. | Is it safe to paint my iPhone 11’s earpiece with permanent or magic marker? Posted: 15 Aug 2021 11:23 AM PDT I have an iphone 11 and i took it to a phone shop because the earpiece mesh was dirty so it wasn't loud so he cleaned with a brush and the speaker works good no problem but the mesh's paint is gone and it's all exposed steel and it looks ugly so is it safe to paint it with permanent or magic marker? If no then what is the other solution? This had started after a few times of the phone self resetting but restarting the phone fixed it before. I have since reset WiFi settings as well as resetting all settings after just the WiFi settings did not work. | Help retrieving photos from Google Street View - iPhone 6, 12.5.4 Posted: 15 Aug 2021 09:48 AM PDT Hey all, I have (as you can see from the title) an older iPhone I've been using for music and pictures. I've been taking 360 photos for a project and have the setting in Google Streetview to save photos to my phone. I've then connected the phone to my computer (Debian, fwiw) and copied the photos from the DCIM folder. This has been fine until yesterday when I started running low on space on the phone and Streetview stopped saving the pictures to my Camera Roll. The pictures are still in the Streetview app and I emailed them to myself but they came as different dimensions for some reason (maybe down scaled for email?). Any one have any idea how I could either force the pictures from Streetview into my camera roll or any way to dig into the phone deeper than the DCIM folder? iOS is not my home turf so I'm pretty clueless on this.
