    I have to do the Hard Reset to turn it on again, and most times the reset doesn't even work and I have to try Hard Resetting for 30-60 minutes for it to turn on. Charging doesn't help either, tried with different chargers. Battery health is 92%

    Shattered iPhone 11 screen I shattered my iPhone 11 screen. Due to this the front camera works, but has a glare to it. Is this just a result of the shattered screen or is it an issue with the camera as well?

    I have an iPhone 11 and its gyroscope seems to be spoilt. Nothing happens when I tilt the phone into landscape mode in Safari and viewing videos in VLC player/Youtube app.

    I checked that I do not have portrait orientation lock enabled.

    Compass & Measure strangely seems to still work though.

    iCloud Photos

    I'd like to not save my iPhone photos on iCloud and just save that 5gb iCloud space for backup etc. I save my photos on Google Drive. Right now iCloud Photos is turned on and has about 2gb of my photos automatically stored. If i turn off iCloud Photos, it will stop automatically uploading to iCloud, right? But will all photos saved on iCloud be also removed and just remain stored on device? Or do i have to manually delete all those photos already stored on iCloud?

    iPhone 12 Pro Max having strange issues early on, read below.

    iPhone 12 Pro Max cannot stand the heat. Anytime I try to charge my phone or plug it in a hot climate such as after walking inside from being outside or getting in a hot car that's been sitting it will not charge itself.

    Battery capacity is down to 95% and I've had the phone since November of 2020. Almost 10 months.

    Also the back of the phone gets really really warm if I use it for an hour straight.

    Edit: not sure if this helps, I just switched to another carrier and have noticed I am getting failed text messages, failed calls, and dropped calls. I am the only one locally that's experiencing these issues as I've talked to my neighbors on nextdoor and they are not having any issues with the same network and towers.

    Help! Freaking out, my iphone is stuck in a boot loop

    So, I am pretty sure my iphone is full on storage because I get a notification about it earlier today, my iphone is now stuck turning on (apple logo) for about 30 seconds, then going to a black screen, then back to the apple logo. I tried connecting this iphone to a PC and Macbook and hard reseting it, it hard resets, but the iphone is not visible on either PC or MAC... I am not sure how I can troubleshoot from here or clear up the space on the iphone if I can't get it to reconize on my PC or Macbook. Any suggestions would be much appreciated (Iphone 8)

    Cellular Update Failed — can’t use phone at all

    I seem to always have defective units.

    I woke up this morning and my 12 Pro Max stopped being able to connect to data or make calls.

    It says "An update is required to use cellular data on this device."

    I'm able to use WiFi luckily, but nothing else. Apple Store is making me wait 2+ hours. My mobile carrier couldn't help either.

    Ive tried SIM card swaps, resetting network settings, but nothing's working.

    Any tips?

    Help with iPhone 7

    Does anyone know why my phone gets incredibly hot to the point where it smells like something was burnt in a toaster. I barely do anything on it and when I do use it it's to go on Reddit, check trending tab of Twitter and use Safari for guides for games. I have to put it in front of my fan for it to actually cool down

    Worried sick about losing my data during a PAC transfer.

    Got an iPhone 11 today since my 6s is starting to slow down, and the store workers had to change my data contract provider, meaning to keep my number the same across to the 11 they had to do a PAC transfer (this all means nothing to me aha) and i'm really worried that i'll lose my data on my 6s when the PAC transfer is complete because apparently the old sim card dies when it finishes.

    The transfer is supposed to take 2 days and I have the new sim card and the new phone ready to be turned on, but i don't know whether to set up the 11 before my phone number is transferred or wait until it's done.

    All of this is very confusing and I'm sorry if i sound like a child, but if i could just have some info or help about this that'd be great!

    Performance Question: iPhone 12 Pro getting very hot whilst using Reddit since updating to iOS 14.7 Is anyone else experiencing this?

    Messages in iCloud help!

    I currently am using 56gbs out of 64 for my storage. I've had messages turned on for iCloud for a while, but it only shows 6gbs stored in iCloud compared to 23gbs of messages on my phone (I've had an iPhone for almost a decade so i have a lot of messages). Do I just wait it out or is something wrong?

    July 20th 2021, United States, Swappa, purchase for personal use

    1. What is the issue, how often does it occur and how to replicate it?

    The issue is not a issue per se, but just a minor concern. This phone was purchased as a gift for my niece. The iPhone 8 is fully functional, and Touch ID/Apple Pay do work as intended however, it has a minor crack. I found a Apple Support forum post that references this and suggests it is a defect: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8153835

    1. What caused the issue? The phone came from the Swappa seller like this. I imagine that's why I got a killer deal on the 64GB iPhone 8 in the first place.

    2. What did you try to resolve the issue and what was the result?

    So one thing to keep in mind, it has obviously been professionally refurbed. The phone is fully functional and in near mint condition aside from the home button/Touch ID. My question is, if I pay for a out of warranty screen replacement, will they also replace the Touch ID sensor since that's part of the screen assembly according to Apple, and the forums?

    I need your opinion on a battery related question below:

    • I live in Norway and my phone is a hand-me-down.

    Hi, I switched out my old battery at an authorized dealer for a brand new one yesterday (the battery itself was not an original) and the capacity just seems... off.

    It drains approximately 1% every two minutes of active use (with apps like Google Search, Reddit, YouTube, Spotify or even my local news app), so I would get about about 3.3 hours of screen-on time. I tested these apps separately with nothing else on in the background.

    Is this decent/to be expected, or do you think I should go back to the dealer and ask for a new battery?

    Notes disappeared when I signed out of iCloud

    Some of my notes have been deleted and I can't find them. I didn't know they were backed up to iCloud, and I don't have that. I didn't know they could be backed up to another account, so I didn't do that.

    I had to sign out of my iCloud account because for some reason, my phone kept deleting their names and would only show their numbers. It was annoying and I read signing out of your iCloud could fix that, so I did that. And now some of my notes are gone. I'm really frustrated because their was important things on them! What can I do the get them back- if there's anything I can even do?

    I have an old iPhone 6s that was destroyed a couple years ago. Basically I had a faulty phone charger and it destroyed everything I plugged it in (my beats snd my iPhone). The phone will not turn on nor charge.

    But I have another iPhone 6s that belonged to my mom. I was wondering if there's anything I could do to potentially move the storage from one phone to the next.

    It's nothing super critical, I don't even remember what's on there. But it would be nice to retrieve some things.

    Multi-plug sparked and seems to have completely broken my iPhone 8 Plus. Any possible fix?

    Multi plug randomly sparked and made a noise earlier. Looked back at my phone I was using seconds earlier and it had completely died. It got stuck in the Apple booting logo and kept showing me the white apple logo screen, a black screen with a weird white line, then it would turn off.

    Managed to put it in recovery mode but the same incident also seems to have broken my macbook too. Went and borrowed a friends macbook but when I got back, the phone was completely irresponsive and won't even go into recovery mode anymore.

    I've tried the Vol +, Vol -, Hold power stategy and no luck. Screen not responding in any way nor anything else on the phone showing signs of life. Only thing is that when plugged into my power bank, the power bank will recognise something is plugged in and seems to be actively giving it charge. Apart from that. Phone seems completely gone.

    Any help really appreciated.

    My Iphone 11 is stuck in restore / update

    Hello all.

    Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

    I woke up yesterday morning and my iphone were stuck in bootloop.

    I went onto the official apple website and I followed the steps it says:

    Plug your phone in on charge, press up, press down and hold the lock button.

    This did not fix, so I discovered I had to restore.

    I did the same steps as before but plugged into my laptop. Then I received error occurred 9. So I tried the same steps in every usb slot. Same error. I tried a new wire every usb slot same error. I even tried the same on 2 other laptops and tried 3 official Iphone wires.

    I have contacted apple but they have asked me to take it into the store, the problem is I am currently isolating after being pinged by the covid app in the UK even though myself and everyone in my household is negative. I am unable to get to an apple store until tuesday and I am loosing money not being able to use my phone as I deal with some work stuff by my phone.

    The closest apple store for me is over 2 hours drive, so I just wanted to see if anybody else had find a fix for this before I travel on tuesday?

    Iphone 8+ has been acting super janky

    Hope someone here can help with my issues. My current phone is an iphone 8+ running iOS 14.6 (although these problems existed on prior versions).

    So my phone has a few issues with it that seem to be related to a drop on the carpet. Luckily the screen is ok. I'll list the problems but they all started around the same time or maybe from another drop on the carpet. I blame my sleep meds for the constant drops but I guess its good that I don't have concrete floors.

    Problems

    1. The haptic feedback stops working (I can usually get it to work again through some percussive maintenance but I'm sure that smacking my phone isn't the best solution)
    2. The side button for locking the screen doesn't function at all anymore. I get around this by using an accessibility function that allows me to lock the screen or restart my phone. But I can't turn it off because there's no way of turning it back on easily (that I know of)
    3. The GPS doesn't work at all. When I use any of the map apps it only seems to find my location based off of wifi signals but its useless for turn by turn directions because it either thinks I haven't left or it gives such a large radius for my approximate location that I could be on any of 15 different streets.
    4. The speaker volume is just really quiet. I don't think this is necessarily due to the drops. I work in construction so there can be a lot of particulate in the air. I think a lot of it has just settled in the speaker holes and muffles the phone. I was just hoping that theres some good tips for fixing that as well.

    My best guess is that there's something loose inside, maybe a ribbon cable or two. I'm not sure though as I've never taken apart my phone before although I am willing to try. I realize that its against the sub's rules to link to a repair site but maybe someone could link a Youtube video? Not sure if that's against the rules.

    Iphone Photo Album Transfer

    Just wondering if anyone knows how to transfer photos from phone to PC organized in the original albums, backing up the phone contents and have ~30k photos so really need the albums so the photos are remotely manageable.

    [Question] (contacts/messages/calendar) search results from previous owner showing on iPhone

    My son and I swapped iPhones. Basically we backed up our data to computer and after swapping phones, we restored from those backups.

    Everything looked good except for "swipe-down" searching on iPhone.

    Now, I see my son's contacts/messages/calendar search results on my phone. But clicking on them doesn't do anything.

    Likewise, my son sees my contacts/messages/calendar search results oh his phone. Again, clicking on them doesn't do anything.

    When we checked contacts/messages/calendar apps on our phones, we only see ours, not each other's inside the apps. Wrong contacts/messages/calendar items only appear in the search results.

    Does anyone know how to fix this?
