    I got my macbook air m1 for about a month now. I've had a film screen protector since i bought it, and today i indecisively took the film screen protector off because tiktok says it could potentially damage the screen. Did i do the right thing? Or my screen is now prone to scratches thanks to my indecisiveness? I have ocd please help me clear my thoughts and answer thank you very much i would absolutely appreciate all answers

    MacBook Air m1 upon shut down restarts after hitting any keyboard button

    I like to shut down my MacBook at the end of the day sometimes but when I hit any key board button or press on the touchpad my MacBook starts up again. It's so annoying, I just want it to stay off.

    Is there anyway to change this?? TIA

    MBA 2020 screen suddenly turned black

    I was typing on Twitter when my screen suddenly turned black. It lasted for about 2 seconds, then it went back to my usual screen (on Twitter, not the log-in start up). I don't have that as my hot corner/ screen saver. This is the first time this happened.

    Model: MBA 2020 (Intel). Got it last August.

    Any reasons as to why it occurred? Any tips? Thank you.

    I'm in dire need of a new laptop and can't decide on getting the mb air or pro. Im a student and probably won't be using the laptop for anything hardcore but would def need a laptop that'll last me a good 5yrs or more. I also kinda want to get the pro more just because of the Touch Bar but is the Touch Bar really even necessary ? And would u recommend getting AirPods ?

    What's your favorite lap desk/mat for using your MBP while sitting down on your lap? Imporant to get a cooling one?

    I have a 2019 16" MBP and by god this thing gets hot on my lap. So I'm looking into various lap pad's to use while sitting down/laying down. Should I get one with fans built in as well?

    Cant type green in the search bar

    for some odd reason on my MacBook I was trying to search for something with the word green, but for some reason as soon as I type the R in green, it deletes the entire line and makes me start again, repeating over and over, so far I can replicate it consistently by spamming GRE GRE and then it'll break. weird bug, anybody know why?

    edit, typing G R E as fast as you can replicates the bug for me, 2021 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar

    for some reason even after saving it as G R E, it changed it to the word are, such a bizarre bug

    When attempting to login to iMessage or Facetime, it begins to process the request and then hangs indefinitely. Logging out also seems to fail, and checking for updates results in an error telling me to make sure I'm connected to the internet (I definitely am connected). I've tried several troubleshooting techniques including NVRAM resets, moving /Library/Messages directory contents to ~, Ensuring correct time zone and automatic time settings, starting in safe mode, creating another admin user to log in to iMessage...Nothing works. Any info on how to fix or troubleshoot further? Thanks.

    Macbook Pro Bluetooth won't turn on

    So a few weeks ago my bluetooth headphones started to randomly disconnect. Then I would check the bluetooth on my macbook so I turned it off and tried turning it back on but it wont turn back on. I then restarted my computer and for 1 day it worked perfectly fine. Then the next day it stopped working again. Plz help.

    My MBA 2015 died then came back to life?

    Hi, MacBook Air Early 2015 11" owner here.

    Five days ago, it refused to turn on despite charging for an hour. I figured it was the battery that finally died since it had been telling me to service it for a little while now and it couldn't hold a good charge anymore. Tried a lot of things, it didn't show any signs of life, not a single flicker.

    I removed the battery, inspected and found no visible damage on the board, and made sure all connections were good, still nothing. None of the liquid indicators were tripped, and the insides look almost brand new. I had done a little cleanup of the dust that's been collecting with an antistatic brush because of heating problems (which improved vastly afterwards) a couple of months ago, and that's about it. With a multimeter, it registered 1.53 V instead of its rated 7.6 V. Under Power System Information, it shows 1732 cycles.

    I figured I'd remove and store the battery in a cool dry place, in some plastic then wrapped with a cloth inside a box until I could get a hold of a new one. The next day I tried connecting the battery again in hopes of anything at all, nothing. Two days after, still nothing. Tonight, I had a sinking feeling before I planned to purchase a battery tomorrow that I should try again, and I was greeted with a short flicker of the startup screen before dying. I pressed the power button and it came on, fully. It's in working condition although it's still telling me to service it. The only thing I can think of that changed from then to now is the weather, it was quite hot then and now it's pouring and fairly cold.

    I just want to make sure that the battery is the problem and if you will, tell me of any other things I should check and make sure of? Thank you!

    M1 MacBook Air flickering when connected to monitor

    Hi all, my brother's monitor keeps flickering when display certain shades of grey. It is connected to his M1 MacBook Air via a usb-c dongle.

    I was wondering what kind of solutions are there?

    Changing the usb-c dongle? Getting a monitor with usb-c Input? (Worst case scenario)

    Tried the display calibration settings already, and different refresh rates, but still didn't solve it.

    Any input much appreciated!

    internal crack(?)

    I literally just bought a new macbook pro last month, but there is what seems to be a tiny internal crack. A few lines now appear as I turn on my laptop, and it won't let me login. There are no external cracks. What should I do? :/ I hate myself so much lol I have an exam to study for and my mom will kill me. How much should I prepare for in getting it fixed?

    I don't really care too much about the lines, it just won't turn on which is the issue

    After trying to immitate UI/UX of Mac on my Windows and Linux Systems so far, today I no longer require that, got my M1 MBA :D

    I have always admired the UI/UX in macs. I remember looking at mac OS snow leopard when I was a kid, and since then I just wanted to experience that sexy UI on my system. I tried to find youtube videos which could help me style and theme my Windows system like that, and even installed Vista because it had that mac like feel. Fast forward to my university days where I was required to use Linux as I'm a comp science Student, I switched to Ubuntu and even tried to theme my Ubuntu system like Mac using GNOME tweaks and few YouTube tutorials, but it wasn't enough. I wanted more, I wanted those minimize animation which was there in macOS, I switched to KDE based Desktop Environment and switched to Manjaro Linux distribution which offered KDE. I styled my system to look exactly like Mac, from all the themes, icons, application title bar and even to the minimize magic genie animation and the app dock. Whenever I screen shared people used to ask me when I got a mac and I used to say that it's linux :P (mac is very expensive already and here in India it's more due to the taxes)

    Today, my first Mac arrived, and it is M1 MBA 16 GB Ram and 500 GB SSD, I can finally experience mac OS in real and don't have to theme my systems.

    I already have iPad 8th gen which I purchased around Jan of this year, so I hope it will complement my MBA.

    I work mostly in developement (Android apps, will try out iOS someday) and ML/AI. GPU aren't the best in M1 chip but I can always use cloud GPU or rent them for my tasks. I also got AirPods for free with this Mac so I'm happy with it. I would explore more and how I can make use of my MBA the best for my needs.

    Please do suggest me in the comments some tips and tricks which might be helpful for a complete begginer to Apple ecosystem. Should I get a screen protector/keyboard protector for MBA? Could you also recommend healthy charging habits and is it wise to use while charging or keeping the laptop running whole night while sleeping.
