| just got the new Apple TV 4K having some trouble. Posted: 28 Jul 2021 11:15 PM PDT I just got the new Apple TV and I really like it so far, but I am having trouble playing purchased content from the YouTube app. For whatever reason every time I play a move or tv show that I bought, I get a " licensing error" and it's unable to play content. I have not had any trouble like this on any other platform, and it plays fine on my phone. Anyone know how to fix it? Thanks. [link] [comments]  |

When I'm using Chromecast and I want to switch channels, say to channel 7, I just click 7 on my remote and it changes channels. But when I'm using AppleTV and I want to do the same, I have to change the Input first. Is this a AppleTV setting I can change? [link] [comments]  |

It's a smart TV but sometimes the TV apps are sluggish. So I'm think of getting an external streaming/smart device like a Roku or Chromecast to stream Netflix, Disney +, HBO, and other web streams. But I do have one fairly significant quibble with it: I enabled Dolby Vision and selected Match Dynamic Range, and the Apple TV started using Dolby Vision for just about everything. Even content that's supposed to be in SDR, especially from apps like YouTube, Twitch.tv and Nebula. Is there anyway to keep Dolby Vision support without having it take over everything like this? | Posted: 28 Jul 2021 04:02 PM PDT I'm sorry about this thread. This topic has been done to death, I guess. I have lifetime Plex Pass. Just migrated to Apple tv 4k from Nvidia shield. I decided to try out infuse Pro for a month. I was impressed by the constant updates to the app. But, after using it for a month, apart from trakt sync, I can't find anything to justify using infuse Pro. I don't use cloud streaming. I have a Synology NAS which is my file server and I run a Plex server on my Mac mini. I use Plex server as backend and infuse as front end this past month. Trakt has stopped working on Plex for some reason in the past few days. I was using the plaxt webhook to scrobble my trakt plays. Is trakt sync reason enough to use infuse pro? Are there any features I'm missing over plex apart from the infuse UI? [link] [comments]  |

I consider buying a HomePod to have sound in my kitchen too but it should also play in the living room, so I don't miss anything when I switch rooms. | Posted: 28 Jul 2021 10:04 AM PDT Just upgraded a 3rd gen Apple TV with the 2021 model The prior one had worked perfectly, but I wanted to upgrade for atmos Now, I'm getting random choppy playback. It's pretty random, maybe once in a 45 minute episode, lasts for 10-20 seconds. The audio is fine but the video looks like it's 7 fps. Issue persists despite swapping hdmi cables, even across different av receivers. I have 150 mbps and never had this on the old atv, so it can't be internet related Anyone experience this and have any suggestions? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 28 Jul 2021 09:59 AM PDT I have a Sony TV and I want to control the volume of the TV with the Apple TV Remote App, specifically using the volume buttons on my iPhone. I know this is possible and I don't understand why it doesn't work with the way I have it set up. The Sony Bravia Sync is on and recognizes Apple TV as a device. I know it's enabled because I can turn on and off the TV with the Apple TV Remote App. When I adjust volume on my iPhone the Apple TV light blinks so I know Apple TV recognizes I am trying to change volume, but nothing happens to the TV. I've done a million searches on google and can't find the answer. Please help me! Tv is a Sony KDL 40BX420. The answer might be… I need to just get a new TV? [link] [comments]  |
