Posted: 26 Jul 2021 12:31 AM PDT One thing that bothers me since i got my atv 4k is that huuuuuge delay of 2 seconds whenever i skip, pause/play a song over the spotify app on my iphone while airplaying to the atv… I did a quick research and it seems that this problem is on spotifys side since they only use airplay 1 and not airplay 2… Its 2021 and my music streaming experience has just become much worse than it was when using a 10€ alexa echo dot …..thats insane :-( [link] [comments]
No Bluetooth audio on Apple TV+ when using my nvidia shield Posted: 26 Jul 2021 03:48 AM PDT I have an Apple TV 4K and Apple TV+ and my air pods work fine with them. I recently put the Apple TV+ app on my Nvidia shield. I tried to watch a stream and the video played fine but I had no audio with my air pods. All my other apps audio worked fine with the air pods. I tried other Bluetooth headsets and none got audio on the Apple TV+ stream. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks [link] [comments]
Posted: 26 Jul 2021 03:36 AM PDT Pondering trying out the TVOS 15 beta, but I have a few questions: Can I revert back to the official release if something doesn't work right with the beta? When the official tvos 15 is released will those with the beta update to the official release without any issues? I guess I'm concerned if I do check out the beta I will forever be locked in..... Many thanks! [link] [comments]
Will Spatial Audio on Tvos 15 beta work with other apps like Netflix or just Apple TV +? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 01:51 PM PDT Just downloaded the beta and movies in my Apple library sound awesome on my air pod max with the spatial audio. Curious if it will give you 5.1, 7.1 and atmos on Netflix, Disney + as well or is spatial audio not supported yet for this apps? [link] [comments]

2nd or 3rd gen Apple TV with no remote… can I use or am I screwed? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 01:08 PM PDT Right now I have it plugged into Ethernet and a computer monitor, but whenever I try to pair my phone using Apple remote it tells me I need to enter a code on the Apple TV. Of course with no remote I can't do this. Any workarounds? (I don't think these older models have Bluetooth and I don't have a Bluetooth keyboard anyway) [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Jul 2021 10:55 AM PDT Lately I've noticed an annoying behavior with my Apple TV 4K gen 2. I take it out of sleep and any content I play after that has a tiny playback hitch every 2 seconds or so. It's like it skips a frame or two. It can take me a while to notice but once I do it is super obvious and impossible to ignore. I'd say this happens every 10 times I wake it or so. The only way I've found to solve it is to reboot the Apple TV. ATV is on 14.7 , I can't say for sure it started after that update but it must have been close. Anyone else have the same issue before I report this to Apple? [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Jul 2021 06:45 PM PDT I am glad that blind people have the option for descriptive audio, but it is driving me a bit nuts while watching the Olympics. There is a person describing what is on the screen, while the announcers are talking. On the broadcast version you need to turn it on by enabling SAP, but for the stream on ATV 4k I can't seem to find a setting to turn it off. [link] [comments]

CEC Standby won’t work after learning sound bar remote Posted: 25 Jul 2021 09:37 PM PDT So I had my Apple TV 4K (latest model) set up. The Siri remote's power button would turn the TV on and off via CEC fine. And the Siri remote was able to control the TVs volume via IR fine. Now I introduce a sound bar (optical audio from TV) and have the ATV learn the sound bar remote. And it works, I can control the volume on the sound bar from the Siri remote. After powering down (really just standby) with the Siri remote, I can't get the TV to come out of standby again, and I'm forced to cycle power on my TV. I've narrowed this down to the volume controls. When I change the volume from the learned sound bar remote back to the TV via IR, the issue goes away. This is behavior is consistent. It seems as though the ATV is maybe sending a bad CEC command when it's having the Siri remote control the sound bar via IR, and I don't understand why those two things would be related. Any experience or help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments]
Do you have to have Apple device to watch AppleTV+ shows? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 09:08 PM PDT I have a Samsung television and an Amazon Firestick. I decided to watch Ted Lasso (a year late, lol) and downloaded the AppleTV+ app, with paid subscription. I was able to watch the first two episodes without issue, but for every other episode, it tells me in-app purchases aren't allowed on the device and to watch, I must purchase or rent on an Apple device? I tried signing out and logging back in to my account, but that didn't help...I'm going to be disappointed if I have to have an Apple product to keep watching! But surely there is a way since I'm paying for the app? [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Jul 2021 03:06 PM PDT Was anyone able to get Airplay to allow 2160p quality within the YouTube app? I'm on iOS and tvOS 14, but it seems I can only selected 1080p as the highest quality during Airplay. According to this guide on 9to5mac, I should be able to select 2160p via Airplay? https://9to5mac.com/2020/10/02/how-to-watch-4k-youtube-iphone-ipad-apple-tv/ Although 4K works on the Apple TV YouTube app, the reason I want to do this is because playback speed doesn't work with my Airplay Speakers. If I use the native player, I should be able to adjust playback speed using Airplay speakers, while in 4K. [link] [comments]
The new AppleTV support ARC only? No eARC? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 06:47 PM PDT When I switch my TV from ARC to eARC, I got no sound out of the HomePods. Only ARC work. The spec: https://www.apple.com/apple-tv-4k/specs/ AppleTV 4k has HDMI 2.1 and support eARC. Check HDMI connection on the AppleTV say the connection is good. Maybe my HDMI cable is not good enough for HDMI 2.1? Let me get a new one and see. [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Jul 2021 05:16 PM PDT I have an Apple TV HD (4th gen) that is connected to my account that is primarily used by my kids. I see that I am the default user, but I see no way to change this. I'd like my kids profile (set up under my oldest son's Apple profile) to be the default user. I've searched all over but can't find any answers. Does anyone here know how to do this? Mute doesn’t work with multiple speakers? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 04:14 PM PDT So I have the new Apple TV 4K and my living room Apple TV has always been linked to a HomePod stereo pair. Then I usually tell airplay to also play to my other HomePod stereo pair for a kind of surround sound effect. The problem I'm encountering is when I press mute, it works, but pressing mute again doesn't being the volume back. I have to manually increase the volume. It's like the system can't figure it out when more than just the linked HomePods are being controlled. Am I missing something? [link] [comments]

Sudden increased remote power drain? Posted: 25 Jul 2021 08:05 AM PDT I've had an Apple TV 4K (1st gen.) for a while now, and I love it. Lately, however, seemingly out of nowhere, the remote has been going through battery super fast. It usually lasts a couple months or so, but I just charged it within the past week or so, and I got a low power warning yesterday. I checked the percentage, and it was 14%, which is usually enough to last for a while, but this morning, I checked the percentage again, and it was already down to 4%. Has anybody else been experiencing this? Not sure if the latest tvOS update might have caused it, since I did update recently, or if it could be a hardware malfunction. I wouldn't mind having an excuse to upgrade to the new one, though I also don't mind the old remote, if it's something that can be fixed, I'd rather save the money for the moment. [link] [comments] |
