    My monitor shows gray square when I closed my lid. I have so much issues with my monitor.

    MacBook Pro Late 2016 - Not Charging then not powering on.

    Symptoms - MacBook was stating "not charging" in OS. Tried a different charger, smc reset, nvram reset etc. Ran down battery (using prime95) was hoping it would reset a battery issue. (112 battery cycles)

    • MacBook obviously now wouldn't turn on. Opened MacBook and disconnected the power to the battery (big copper screw and pulled connector up). This didn't help.
    • Organised an appointment with authorised apple repair.

    Apple Authorised Response

    The logic board looks to have failed. I have disconnected the battery, speaker , SSD, and keyboard. This did not change the issue. Suggested logic board replacement.

    How screwed am I? Is it definitely a logic board issue? Should I just cut my losses and sell it for parts.

    It is a shame the amount of care I have taken with it over the years and it still fails.

    Did I mess up?

    I recently purchased the MacBook Pro 13,m1. But 2 days ago I just heard about the new MacBook 14 inch coming soon. Which has some amazing feature and rumoured to be the same price. I can't even return it anymore since it's past 14 days. So what do you guys think was it bad purchase and bad time to buy it?

    Macbook Air M1 or Gaming PC?

    Hi, could anyone help me out?

    So, my 10-year old laptop is about to be replaced and I am given only 2 options: Macbook Air M1 or a gaming pc that will be assembled by a store.

    I need a laptop/pc mainly for school works, which is usually just documents and for zooms/gmeet. But sometimes, I do some light to medium video editing. I only edit clips, edit out the sound, etc. The outputs are usually just 3-5 minutes, rarely gets to 7 mins beyond. Plus, I don't play computer games. 😂

    If I do end up getting the macbook, what apps would u guys recommend for video editing and for creating documents (word, ppt, excel, etc)?

    Redesigned MacBook Pro

    I will be an incoming freshman this fall in college. My question is, any idea on when the redesigned MacBook Pro will be released? I've really been holding out on buying my laptop because I've been waiting on the new one. I'm going to need it the first week of august, am I out of luck and should I just buy the m1 from last year or wait it out?

    How do I properly clean the screen of my MacBook Air?

    Got a MacBook Air a couple months ago and am loving it. However, the screen has gotten dirty. I'd like to clean it and not fuck it up. What's the right product for cleaning the screen? Isopropyl alcohol?

    M1 Macbook Air or Pro?

    For some context, I'm an art student saving up for my first macbook. For the most part, I will be using this laptop for typing, browsing, watching videos etc, since I do the majority of my artwork on my iPad pro. However, I will need to use Photoshop, Illustrator and possibly Final Cut Pro on occasion (probably once or twice a month if that). Will the M1 Macbook Air be able to handle that? Or should I just get the Pro? I'm on a student budget so the Air would be ideal if possible as it's quite a bit cheeper.

    TL;DR: Is the M1 Macbook Air Capable of running programs like Photoshop (will only be using very occasionally), or should I just get the Pro?

    Air or Pro for comp sci

    I was planning on picking up a macbook pro for college but am wondering if I'd be fine with the air. My high school used macbook airs and they really showed their age, but the m1 air seems pretty powerful. Would an m1 air be capable enough for studying comp sci?

    MacBook Repair Question

    Hi, My MacBook is currently being repaired at apple because of a keyboard issue and I have one question. Does anyone know how long it'll take? When I check the repair status it shows it's being inspected but it's been showing that for a few days now.

    Using a MacBook and a gaming pc.

    Hi. I'm thinking of buying a MacBook air as a "side" computer and I don't know if it's worth it. I'm a gamer that's why I have a maxed-out gaming pc, but I am thinking of buying an m1 MacBook air for other stuff. I am a programmer and I think it would be better to code on a MacBook also I plan on using the mac for web browsing, photoshop(maybe), playing Minecraft-_- and as a travel laptop, but I just don't know if its worth to purchase the mac for these uses and I don't want to waste my money. What do you guys think?

    (also ignore any errors I'm not a native speaker)

    Edit: also forgot to add that I use an iPhone,iPad, and an apple watch so I'm in the Apple ecosystem

    How Much RAM do I need to run Logic Pro || M1 MacBook Air

    I'm getting the Macbook Air with the M1 chip and I'm wondering if I should get the base 8GB of RAM or the $225 CAD upgrade to 16GB.

    I don't use my old Macbook Air for a lot of strenuous activity other than large Logic Pro projects and 20 or so Chrome tabs which it has trouble running.

    I'm leaning towards 8GB but if you have a good point for or against the 16GB upgrade please tell me, it would be very valuable. Thanks!

    Mouse scroll step problem

    Hey everyone! Recently I purchased MBA M1. This is my first MacOS device and I come from Windows and its a little bit confusing in the beginning. I use the Logitech Pebble Bluetooth mouse with the laptop and I have problems with the scroll - when I scroll once it almost doesn't scroll the page - just little move. I must scroll faster just to do 1 scroll. I also tried in Minecraft - I can't switch to next item in hotbar without scrolling fast and multiple times. Installing SmoothScroll fixed the issue in browsers and file explorer but with SmoothScroll enabled when I scroll i jump 4-5 items in hotbar not one. Also SmoothScroll is not free. Is there any fix for this without using 3rd party software. Or If i need to use SmoothScroll how I can fix it for Minecraft.

    Its really annoying.

    Worried about latent damage in 2019 Macbook Pro

    While my (Intel) Macbook Pro was connected to my LG Ultrafine 4k monitor, I accidentally unplugged the monitor's power cable from the receptacle. As of right now, my Macbook is fine. Is there a possibility that my Macbook sustained a latent defect as a result of the accident ?
