    Today, I was able to recover my father's iPhone XR, without any data loss. The iPhone was stuck in the boot loop of death, and all Apple repairmen had said there was no way to recover the phone without losing all the data.

    After an arduous week, I was finally able to push an update through iTunes, and we got our priceless data back! It's backing up to iCloud as I write this, and needless to say, regular backups are going to be the norm. I urge you all to follow the same!

    Shout out to r/mobilerepair and r/jailbreak. It's so great to help each other out!

    How to “save” live wallpaper?

    I used to have an iPhone Xs, and I used its exclusive wallpaper (the planet-like one). Now I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max, and transferring the data also transferred the wallpaper. I have been using that wallpaper, however I want try something new. As I like that wallpaper I would like to find a way to save it, before I try the new one, as it doesn't show up in the wallpaper settings because it's exclusive to the Xs.

    What happens to the previous “Home” location labels in Photos when you move and change your address?

    My family just moved and I'm in the process of updating my address everywhere. When I update my home address for Apple/iOS purposes, will my old photos retain the "Home" location label (e.g., when viewing the photo itself or in Memories video clips)?

    what exactly are application installs from safari (no jailbreak)?

    so there are ways of installing apps like emulators from safari (without jailbreak). when you click one, a pop up occurs that safari would like to install. running them requires accepting a publisher. but i thought that apple does not allow applications installs unless from app store. how do these actually work? i couldn't find any information on what these type of downloads are called and they are not progressive web apps because you dont 'install' them by selecting add to home screen.

    Frustrated with managing Family Share subscriptions as Owner/Manager

    This is incredibly frustrating that subscriptions need to be cancelled on the device with the subscription even though the subscription is being paid for by my credit card as the family owner/manager. I receive the email with the charge. Several times now this has been a huge hassle.

    So I had made a "family Apple ID" for a community family iPad. That was later given to my son, reset and signed in under his own Apple ID. AppleTV+ was signed up for the free trial under the family Apple ID. I've now been charged, and I have no way of cancelling the subscription without setting up a device with that Apple ID I no longer use. I can't cancel it on the website as it just launches the App Store where I'm signed in with my account and shows my device subs.

    So I'll ask again, why on earth does the Family Share/Owner not have the ability to easily manage subscriptions that they are paying for? This feels predatory and the opposite of what I expect from Apple.

    How do I separate all my downloaded/saved photos into a separate album on iOS?

    I save a lot of photos and it would be hugely helpful to have them in a separate album for easy access. Is there a way either within iOS or a shortcut/app to do this?

    Back up Itunes vs iCloud

    iOS 15 beta: visual lookup working for anyone?

    The live text feature works for me on the camera and photo app but the visual lookup feature where the photos and camera app recognises an object in the viewfinder/image doesn't work, I've tried on multiple images but the option doesn't exist.

    Anyone had any luck?

    Is it possible to automatically have your photos sync to google or microsoft cloud instead of icloud?

    My mom doesnt want to pay for the expanded icloud storage but I don't want her to lose anything. I know the MS and google drives offer 15GB, is there a way to have them integrate the same way as icloud where all her photos automatically sync to it? Thanks.

    On Discord, a friend says that I had called them when I hadn't. Then when it happened again, they picked up but I wasn't there, instead it said that they had called me. I filed a report on Discord's website but the same peculiar thing happened to me on WhatsApp where calls I didn't make went to my other friend but when he picked up, it called me and then when I went to pick up, it just declined the call every time. I own an iPhone SE, does anyone know what might be causing this issue? Have I been hacked or something?

    HDR for photos

    Hi, have someone notice, that auto HDR for photos never turn on? I have iP 12 and also in extreme light situacion nothning happened. Everything with phone is allright, always have last update.

    Do voice message senders get notified when you replay a voice message?

    If I replay a voice message that I kept and reacted to on imessage from a while ago, will the sender be notified?

    Transferring files from iphone to linux pc

    I connected my iPhone 6 s plus to my Linux PC through a USB cable, but I am not able to find my downloads in the Downloads folder. In iPhone, I have saved the files in a downloads folder in 'on my iPhone'.

    Is there any other way to get my files, also airdrop doesn't work on '< iPhone 7'

    I don't want to use Wi-Fi or mobile data, as it is too slow in my region.

    What determines if an album will play as a slideshow vs playing as a memory movie?

    Basically the title. I've noticed this recently when going through photos and I wanted to see it as a memory movie but noticed I didn't have that option. I could only view it as a slideshow which isn't as nice in my opinion.

    You should be able to double tap a tab in safari to Add to Reading List.

    Jpeg + Raw

    Just took some RAW photos on an Iphone 12 with Camera + 2. I've got the photos into my camera roll and it says "Jpeg+RAW". Now I need to import those images to my Mac. I've tried Airdrop and some other methods but everytime they get into my mac I press "get info" and they are just a JPEG. How can I solve this?

    Personal hotspot not working

    I tried every solution I found so far. My APN is the same for mobile data and hotspot, i reset network settings, i tried changing them manually too, and still it shows as "set up personal hotspot" and when I try to access it I get the "to enable personal hotspot on this account contact your provider" message. It worked until some time ago, suddenly no more. Please help.
