I hope to restore to a 12.something version of iOS via a previous backup, but will I lose iCloud backed up photos between now and the previous backup date that I restore to? | Possible to Find When Phone Updated Itself / the iOS? Posted: 22 Jun 2021 11:07 PM PDT iPhone Xs running iOS 14.6 (now--grr, was 12.something before) I swear I had my phone set to manual updates for the iOS. Well, the damn thing updated and is now definitely set to automatic downloads and updates in the newest version. Does anyone know how to find out WHEN the damn thing installed the latest version through the phone itself? I need to return to a backup with my previous iOS to make a very important app functional again and at least export that data. Thanks [link] [comments]  |

| iPhone 12 desaturation video uploads to OneDrive Posted: 22 Jun 2021 04:20 PM PDT I have an iPhone 12 that I purchased three weeks ago. I'm in the US. I upload photos and videos from my iPhone to the OneDrive app. Since getting the new phone, all of the videos that I upload lose their color quality -- the videos look desaturated. It happens in the app and on the desktop. It also happens when I directly download the video to my devices and play from there. I emailed Microsoft support thinking it was a OneDrive issue and they said this: "From my understanding, what is happening is that your phone is changing your videos when you upload them to your Onedrive. There could be multiple causes of this, either your phone is uploading the wrong file format or resizing them so that they download faster. Onedrive as an app doesn't have any resizing or compression built in, so this likely is being caused somewhere during your phone's upload to Onedrive." | Posted: 22 Jun 2021 04:15 PM PDT I have a pair of headphones that are about 5-6 years old, maybe less. They have the standard 3.5" audio jack and they've been working fine until now. I have an iPhone 7 Plus (also tested on my iPad Pro) so I use the audio-to-lightning adapter. Last night, all of a sudden, the audio started sounding really strange when I was watching a movie. The best way to describe it is; I can hear the sound effects and music but not the vocal track. I don't really see how this is possible with a pair of analog headphones. I thought it was a problem with the adapter so I picked up another one today but I'm still having the same issue. I've also tried another old pair of headphones (even older than these) and the audio sounds fine with them. Has anyone else had this happen before? | iOS 14.6 12 Pro Max Sudden Volume Increase (Power button/typing) Posted: 22 Jun 2021 05:43 AM PDT On iOS 14.6 when the screen is active and music is playing through Spotify, pressing the power button or typing in Safari greatly increases the volume. When connected to Bluetooth speakers or AirPod Pros this can potentially cause increases in volume that can damage hearing and scare people. Can anyone else replicate this issue? [link] [comments]  |

| Audio randomly fades in and out when recording videos. Posted: 22 Jun 2021 01:56 PM PDT I have an iPhone XR running iOS 14.6. The issue started last night as I was trying to record a video. I watched the video back, only to find the audio was fading in and out at random. I had not changed any settings. I tried it again today, and the issue persisted. I tried to search for answers, and the best I got was to remove the case or disable noise cancelling, neither of which worked. I have noticed that it mainly affects my voice, and when I hold the phone close to my face, the issue stops. It's only when I'm a few feet away and try to record my voice when it becomes noticeable. Furthermore, it affects both the front and back facing cameras. Is this a software issue, like a setting I unknowingly turned on, or a hardware issue with the microphone itself? Thanks in advance! | Posted: 22 Jun 2021 11:41 AM PDT Alright, so I have two phones with me. An iPhone X and an iPhone 8. The X works just fine, completely normal. The "Control Group" of this situation. The iPhone 8 however, has an issue where it will: A. never fully charge B. Is currently stuck between the Low Battery screen with the charger icon. indicating it needs to be plugged in. C. when it is plugged in, after about 10 minutes of charging it will go to the Apple Logo screen. Most iPhones would continue to the lock screen after a short time, however, this iPhone enjoys testing my patience by staying stuck on the apple loading screen, its current record is an hour and fifteen minutes. Now, I have done some searching on the internet, followed the iPhone 8 Recovery screen steps, and have successfully gotten to the restore screen. I was full of joy until I realized both my computer and Itunes do not see the iPhone plugged into it. At first, I thought maybe it was the cable, so I tried a few other cables, same issue. I then followed the same restore process with my iPhone X, my computer recognized the phone instantly and Itunes was just as eager to respond. My current Dilemma is figuring out what I need to do to "open my computer's eyes" and allow it to actually see and respond to the iPhone 8. If anyone has any suggestions, tips, tricks or anything that could help, I am all ears. I could send it in for repairs, but honestly, that is such a hassle and is the last option i would like to take. Also not made of money right now. [link] [comments]  |
| Transferring photos from an old iPhone 3GS Posted: 22 Jun 2021 11:35 AM PDT I recently found my very old iPhone 3GS, it has some old photos of my past pets and my son when he was younger etc. I'd like to try to find a way to get these photos from this old phone and onto my current phone (Samsung S10+) My first thought was go download Google Drive on my old phone and upload them, however when I try to download it on the App Store I get the message the phone is too old and not supported. Connecting it to iTunes would be useless too because all it would do is make a backup in the Apple format right? It's been a long time since I used iTunes but from what I remember it doesnt let you transfer individual photos onto your computer and save them does it? It involves syncing from iPhone to iPhone right? My only other thought would be to painstakingly email a load of photos to myself and open and save them using my current phone. But it would take a very very long time due to email file size restrictions. Someone must have had this issue in the past I'm sure! I would be very very grateful if someone could offer some help. I'd probably be ok receiving a report about my general app usage for the week, but I really dislike the idea of a log being kept of more granular activities like websites visited. I don't care that the data is local and Apple doesn't collect it, or that data is only collected on a weekly basis - I sometimes let family members borrow my phone, so local logs aren't something I feel comfortable with. All the settings are in Korean. When we select the HDMI input the TV displays an error that looks like "this device is not supported". But it's in Korean so I'm not sure what it says.
