AirPod Pros not turning on or connecting Posted: 26 Jun 2021 12:19 AM PDT Hi all, Just today I've discovered that my AirPod Pros have stopped turning on and will not connect, despite me charging them. The light on the front is no longer turned on, nor will turn on, and the device is unable to connect to it. I've tried charging it, I've tried holding the button on the back - everything I can think of. And yet, it will not turn on. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jun 2021 09:59 PM PDT I just turned it on, it has no Siri so I couldn't ask about the owner. It's also connected to cellular network. Should I wait and see if someone calls? Any tips on how I can return this? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 26 Jun 2021 01:50 AM PDT The silent mode button is all the way down and hasn't been touched, but it vibrates like it has been pushed down. I don't know what I should do, and googling it doesn't give me any helpful articles or advices. I have iOS 14.6, literally everything is updated. I've been experiencing this for quite some time now. Dropped my iPhone 12 pro in a lake... what should I do? Posted: 26 Jun 2021 01:36 AM PDT Okay, so, just a quick re-cap. I was at this lake with my friends today, and one of them dropped my iPhone 12 pro into the lake. It wasn't too deep, and it was only in there for like 30 seconds before she picked it up. My case isn't that protective, and was pretty wet, so I took it off and went to look at the phone. I used a dry sweater and wiped everything on the outside as well as I could. We couldn't tell if anything had happened to the inside of it, so my friend suggested I play one of those ''play this audio to get water out of your speakers''. I played a two minute version of it, then turned my phone off, and wrapped it up in the sweater and walked back to my friend's house. It stayed turned off for a while. Then, I turned it back in again like an hour later, and everything seemed to be working smoothly. The only thing I noticed was that when I played audio really loudly, the sound sounded slightly off, like a small echo at times (I don't know how to explain it). I got home and played an hour long version of the audio I played earlier just to be sure). I thought that everything was all good, and I continued to use my phone as usual. My phone was at like 80% when it first fell in. I listened to music on it with my headphones (plugged into the port) for around 5 hours. Again, everything seemed to be going well. Then, my phone got down to 3%, and I decided to charge it, but I got this notification that says ''Liquid detected...'' So, I over-rided it, I don't know why, and let my phone charge up tp 12%, but I saw something say that it could permanently damage the phone, so I unplugged it, turned it off, and I plan on letting it sit for 24 hours or so. Anyways, I am really freaking out. I am a teen, and this is my first phone ever and I just got it like two weeks ago. I am too scared to tell my parents, because I don't want to get in trouble, but I also don't want to do something and completely mess up my phone. I thought that I would post to see if anybody had any similar experiences, or just any tips of what I should do. Or, if anyone knows of what might have happened to it on the inside. Any sort of help is appreciated! TL;DR: I am a teenager who got their first phone two weeks ago, I dropped it in a lake today. Didn't see anything unusual and continued to use it for hours. When close to dying, I tried plugging my charger in, but I got the ''liquid detected in lightning...'' notification, over-rided it, realized that was bad, now my phone is disconnected, and is turned off and sitting. I am currently freaking out. I am too scared to tell my parents what happened, so I would love to receive any sort of tips/personal stories related to what happened, or if anyone knows of what might have happened on the inside. :) [link] [comments] |

Siri not aware of severe weather alerts Posted: 25 Jun 2021 06:58 PM PDT Twice in the past week, Siri on my HomePods has been blissfully unaware of NWS-issued weather alerts in my area. The Apple weather app shows relevant watches, warnings, and other alerts without fail, but asking Siri if we're under any sort of watch or warning is met with "No, I don't see any severe weather in the forecast." Today, I even followed it up with asking what the current weather was, and she responded with "It looks like heavy rain for a while," followed by the next 12ish hours of forecast. Asking on my phone at least gives confirmation that it is in fact raining, but the HomePod seems to think the skies are perfectly clear. Is this a hole in Siri's abilities on the HomePod, or is there a way to sort of refresh her weather data to get those severe alerts to come in? [link] [comments] |
time machine backups over my router Posted: 25 Jun 2021 04:39 PM PDT I have a Spectrum Wave 2 RAC2V1K router with a usb port on the back. I'm thinking of hooking up a 2tb drive to it and using a partition off of that for time machine backups for each laptop in the house. Is this feasible? The router supports sharing storage locally over FTP, Samba, WebDAV, DLNA, AFP, and NFS. Both computers in question are running Mojave. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jun 2021 10:10 PM PDT I believe it's the GPU that has failed. What's the best way to get the files off the SSD. I'm not sure what format the drive is. I'm only familiar with IDE & SATA drives. Thank you in advance! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jun 2021 02:36 PM PDT When someone is trying to send me pictures via airdrop I could not preview them. Sometimes i just don't know whether or not to accept that because of that. How could it fix this problem? Thank you very much. [link] [comments] |
Password login trouble. iPhone and MacBook Pro can't log in using same saved passwords in keychain? Posted: 25 Jun 2021 09:45 PM PDT 11 Pro (updated) and MacBook Pro (Big Sur 11.4). Rarely able to use passwords saved from one device to log in into the other device. Any thoughts? [link] [comments] |
MacBook Pro 13" mid-2017 will not start after battery replacement Posted: 25 Jun 2021 09:20 PM PDT So I have a Macbook Pro 13" mid-2017, that had a bad battery that was swollen pretty badly. Got the iFixit kit, replaced the battery, no issues. Was running for about an hour and a half when I almost heard a zap, and then poof, no power at all. Tried to restart, nothing is happening. I have tried the following with no change in status:
I did check the power draw on the charger, and it's not activating, and barely pulling about half a watt when plugged into the laptop. When I plug it into another USB-C device you can see it is drawing at least 5w of power, so I know that is not an issue. Are there any secret steps left to reset this thing, or is it a paperweight with a brand-new battery now? [link] [comments] |
iPhone keeps asking to restore from backup. Posted: 25 Jun 2021 09:03 PM PDT I recently had to replace my 11 Pro Max through AppleCare/Assurant loss/theft and despite knowing that I did have an iCloud backup saved, when I received the replacement device it stated I only had a backup available from my iPad. I know that I can't magically make my old backups appear. I chose the iPad option just to be able to use my phone and it also updated to iOS 14.6. Now everytime I restart my phone/power it off completely and turn it back on, it always says "software update - sign in to restore from backup" as if it's a brand new device. I just have to go back to the wifi screen and connect it to wifi then it'll pause and just send me to my home screen but I'm not sure if that will work if I'm ever not able to select a wifi network. Does anyone know what's causing this and how to fix it ? [link] [comments] |
AppleTV keeps wanting me to redownload shows Posted: 25 Jun 2021 08:52 PM PDT I got AppleTV with my laptop. I downloaded some shows and never got around to watching them. Family sharing not uploading photos Posted: 25 Jun 2021 08:35 PM PDT So I bought a 200GB family plan for me and my wife and I was able to upload all my photos but she isn't Able to for some reason. There's still over 150 GB left in the cloud and I don't get how she can't upload her photos. It says to buy a bigger plan. Can some one help? [link] [comments] |
Deleted my videos from my iPad Posted: 25 Jun 2021 04:39 PM PDT Hey guys, I deleted my videos from my iPad because I didn't have enough space. I used the same iCloud account for my iPad and IPhone. Today I wanted to upload some videos in here but then I noticed they are all deleted. Is it possible for me to restore them back? I already backed up them both from my iPhone and my laptop. iPhone 12 Pro - Weird Keyboard Freeze Posted: 25 Jun 2021 07:51 PM PDT iOS 14.6 - started happening since I 14.4 figured others may have had it so didn't look much into it and wasn't happening frequently. Having a weird issue with this phone. It seems to happen in iMessage and Snapchat, while typing the keyboard freezes up. Don't know why, just randomly, before I can record what it does it, it comes back to life once I swipe up or I swipe out and exit the app then I no longer have the issue. This happens across multiple apps, doesn't seem to be just the two I mentioned but those are what I use the most. I've done a soft reset, along with a power off wait 2 hours power on and still having this issue. I'm assuming a phone reset is up next (I just hate doing this step, scared of just not being able to recover everything going phone to phone is a lot more easier) It also seems like the keyboard can't keep up with how fast I am typing, starts to lag behind. Would this be because of how quickly I am typing or it's not even humanely possible for this to happen. The phone is well taken care of, always in a case an keep a screen protector on it. Dropped a few times but very light and on carpet. Also do the apps within the iMessage keyboard (Giphy, Bitmoji etc..) cause something like this? I don't really have many apps downloaded for the keyboard just giphy and gamepigeon. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 25 Jun 2021 07:20 PM PDT I recently found my old iPhone 6 Plus from years ago and even though my parents have tried to fix it and taken it to apple to see what's wrong nothing is working. I tried to do the hard reset and update/restore the iPhone connected to iTunes on the computer, but the screen keeps changing from the apple logo to dim black/blue screen to black screen and repeats all over again. The screen doesn't show the iPhone/restore.update link. Although I have the newest iPhone I'm still determined to fix the iPhone 6 Plus cause I feel like it would be a big waste because it was working fine along time ago when another family member used it. I know most of you al might say to just get rid of it but I'm just really determined to fix it and I know apple will only say "There's nothing we can do" and just leave it at that so I would have to buy another phone even though I already have a new phone. I recently picked a thick piece of lint of the charging port since the phone was from a long time ago, I'm just letting the phone stay charged since it seems to be charging without the dead battery showing up . Any advice? [link] [comments] |
