New major release for RunFit for Apple Watch: Introducing « Trends »! Posted: 27 Jun 2021 05:10 AM PDT Hello! A while ago, I posted about my first app, RunFit for Apple Watch and the reception was positive. It's a standalone watch app for runners that allows you to display the weekly progress from your running workouts directly on your Apple Watch faces using complications. You can check out the website if you want to learn more. Today, I'm happy to introduce version 2.0. This release includes a new major feature: « Trends ». Based on how much you ran compared to the past few weeks, you'll see arrows pointing up or down for each of the three stats (distance, duration and quality). You can also see your running history for the past weeks and all of that is securely saved in iCloud, so you won't lose your history data if you upgrade your Apple Watch for example. This release also includes new complications types for Trends and many changes that I've made since I've posted based on the great feedback that I received on this sub. For exemple: • Added the option to display the quality pace in percentage instead of in minutes (with new complications) • Added an optional alert feature, where RunFit can send you a notification if your quality percentage for the week gets to high. It will suggest you to run slower from now on, because running fast all the times can increase your chances of injury. I wasn't able to implement a trial feature yet, but I've lowered the price to 1.99 USD to make it even more accessible. It's a one time purchase with no ads, no in-app purchases and absolutely no data collected. Hope you like it, as always feel free to leave questions, comments and suggestions! [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Jun 2021 04:38 AM PDT I really want to buy a MacBook Air or iPad Air to replace my old windows laptop. My day to day computer use is just YouTube/Netflix and Reddit. I actually don't even use my computer but once or twice a month as I do everything on my phone. I am a RN working in a hospital so on paper I do not need a computer for work. However, my state's board of nursing uses an online portal for license management and renewal that is only compatible on windows computers running Chrome or Internet Explorer. This portal was released last year! You can't tell me there's more people still using Internet Explorer, a browser Microsoft themselves have declared obsolete, than Safari or MacOS chrome. Not only that, but to renew my license I have to do a certain amount of continuing education modules. Basically glorified javascript powerpoints with a quiz at the end yet somehow they also require Windows and Chrome or IE, sometimes Firefox. My job also requires us to complete regulatory education modules as well and those don't work on Mac either and that portal came out 2 years ago! I decided to buy either this years iPad or MacBook anyway. If I need a windows device for work then I'll just have to go to the library or do it at work before/after my shift. [link] [comments]
I recently launched my first app, KnokKnok, a clean social connectivity app Posted: 27 Jun 2021 10:29 AM PDT Hi everyone, My app KnokKnok Vanishing Invites helps you get together with your friends in real life. It's an easy way to organize last-minute or casual gatherings without the drawbacks of text messaging, having to decide between texting one-by-one and waiting for replies or texting a group and ending up with too many people and too many loose ends. In KnokKnok, you create an event and set the max number of friends you want, then you invite some (or all) of your friends. They receive a text invite that doesn't reveal the host or event until they click though. Once you get enough takers, the event closes ("vanishes") and anyone else clicking through the text will get a message telling them the event is full, without showing any information about the event itself. It's like a cross between snapchat and evite. For every event, KnokKnok also creates a group chat and adds everyone who accepts so you can coordinate. Some features of KnokKnok include:
There are more details available on our website. I hope you get a chance to check it out and provide some feedback! [link] [comments]

Hey M1 Mac owners, what's the current state of iOS apps on macOS? Posted: 26 Jun 2021 08:28 PM PDT When the first M1 Macs came out, the reviews were pretty universal that the iOS app experience was not fully baked. I'm wondering if it has improved at all? Are any of you actually using any iOS apps on macOS on a regular basis? [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Jun 2021 05:32 PM PDT Just came back from a Genius Bar appointment today in the UK and was shocked by the experience I had. Found to be waiting around for ages and members eyeing each other to serve me. (I wasn't even the only brown person in the shop haha) But no one wanted to for some reason? Finally after 15mins of waiting I got someone who wasn't really interested borderline rude and very unhelpful. Came out with ridiculous scenarios to why my iPhone wasn't working and blatantly didn't offer any solution. After 2 hours got a replacement and that's only because they damaged my iPhone opening it. WTF is going on. Is it just me or anyone else experienced a change in quality with apple. EDIT - I had an appointment booked! [link] [comments] |
