    Hi, was looking for an app that could keep my battery away from 100% charged. I know Big Sur somehow has that as well, but this app could keep it at any % I wish to have. I thought I shared it with you. My 2019 MBP16 is already at 88% battery health... due to my always at the desk work.

    Programs using extreme amounts of memory?

    Hi there! Have anybody else expired that some programs hog extreme amounts of memory? On my 16 GB M1 MacBook Pro, I frequently has to restart Microsoft OneNote as it is using up to 16 GB of Memory, (it lies around 4-5 GB Usually, which is still extremely high imo). The _windowserver task also uses upwards of 2-5 GB.

    Both Microsoft OneNote and _windowserver run natively on apple silicon when I look at the cpu-tab of the task manager.

    The performance difference between the custom Compiled M1 version and the stock intel version is insane! you need to try it. The app is not signed or notarised so macOS will warn you the first time you run it. Simply press cancel, right click the app and press open. You might need to do this twice.

    Because this is a custom build you will need to install Homebrew from brew.sh and then run this command:

    brew install akeru-inc/tap/xcnotary cmake cmocka ffmpeg jack mbedtls qt@5 swig vlc

    **Browser sources will not work as these are not yet ready for ARM.

    I know the API that is available for macOS desktop isn't as powerful and efficient as Windows but I'm wondering if these days is any app or any option to do it like Wallpaper Engine, I am kinda bored with a static Wallpaper.

    How to prevent MacBook from sleeping when using a certain webpage?

    I have found couple apps that do similar thing but they only prevent it when the certain app is open, however I wouldn't like it to apply to all of safari, just to a couple webpages. Does anyone know how to do that or what app can do this? Thanks for the help

    Hi all, as a long time iPhone user but longtime windows user, I've been getting deeper and deeper into the Apple ecosystem, and with my old laptop getting- well old- and the m1 MacBooks looking awesome, I'm probably going to get a MacBook this year. I'm undecided on the pro or the air at this point, so feel free to push me in a direction if you want, but that's not what this is about.

    I would like to keep using my desktop on windows for gaming and data storage and transfer any data from my MacBook to it pretty regularly to keep my MacBook emptier. For this, I'm not sure what the best way to do this is. Their is the conventional USB stick once in a while to swap stuff over, which I'm not opposed to. But I'm wondering about some more streamlined solutions, either with an external hard drive or through Ethernet or cloud.

    Is the data rate fast enough to bother with an external hard drive? It seems kind of like the most streamlined solution. Or would it be easier to use cloud storage, which I could potentially use from anywhere instead of just at home. Or would it be worth using Ethernet, enabling file share on my desktop, and finding the desktop through the wifi on my MacBook. Would I need to enable file share and search for the desktop each time I do this or would their be a way to make it quicker to do.

    Or if anyone else has better solutions, I'm basically at the start of my planning process for this so I'm looking for really any advice or ideas.

    Why do the Microsoft Office apps take so long to open?

    Okay, I've just had it. It's just so annoying. Word bounces for like 20 times before that thing finally opens. I've got a 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro (fn keys). It has an SSD of course. I just don't know why Office opens so slowly. Come on, Logic Pro opens way faster than Office.

    Can somebody help me how to speed up Microsoft Office. It's terribly annyoing how slow it is when starting it up for the first time. I don't have any antivirus installed, nor CleanMyMac X.

    Bootable backup without the data stuff?

    Is it possible to create a bootable backup of macos without all my personal data? I have that backed up separately. All I want is a bootable backup I can go back 3 months from now once I filled my OS with junk and feel like it.

    Any tool to achieve this?

    Safari "Copy image" problem

    Hi,

    I've noticed this issue and searched for it google and reddit, but couldn't find any solution for it, so I thought about asking myself. Is there any fix/workaround for copying image to clipboard in Safari that forces the copied thing to be just the image, not the standard image + link combo?

    Right now when I'm pasting the copied image into some apps it works fine, and in others it pastes a link to the image. I'm looking for some solution or extension that could add an option to force the copy of just the image. I know I can download it, then open from drive etc. but I need it to be fast and reliable. I'm new to mac, so I don't know how to deal with such situations yet, but that's the only reasonable way out for me.

    trustd process hogging CPU after Big Sur 11.3.1 Upgrade

    Hi all,

    I just updated my OS from 11.3 to 11.3.1 today and I'm having an issue with the process trustd hogging the CPU. It's using around 99%. I can force force quit but it comes back within a few minutes. I'm seeing a diagnostic report in my console with trustd in the name, but I'm new to the MacOS and don't know if it's applicable/how to interpret it. Can anyone provide any insight on how to fix this?

    Opening PDF Makes Safari Tabs Crash

    Ever since the Big Sur update, every time I try to open a PDF on my university's website (Blackboard), it crashes whenever I go back. I have to manually force close the tab and then reopen it so it'll respond. Is there anyone that has experienced this and found a fix?

    144hz on external monitor! Help!

    Hi, so I need some help guys, I just got my self a MacBookAir 13" Early 2015. I mostly use it on the go for some small photo editing and video editing I do for my company, but I need to know if I can have 144hz from it to my samsung Odyssay 24RG50 monitor in full HD, the monitor has a HDMI version 1.4 and on my Mac i have a Mini DisplayPort. So does anyone knoe what do I have to buy or can I even have that fps output from my Air.
