So recently about 3 days ago, I sent my friend a voice recorded text message as we usually do and when he opened the message it just said "0:00" for how long it was and the line representing the audio waves was flat even though I did record something. Does anyone know what is wrong and if there is a way to fix it? When I send the messages as well it says how long they were and such, it just doesn't do that for him. [link] [comments]  |

They swear it's not a hardware issue...This sounds weird but I'm wondering if it has to do with me trying to update my watch and the install failing in the middle of it....that just came to me.... I even went and signed up for the Apple Beta but I can't download 14.6 unless my device is on wifi - HAH. | Help // dropped my iphone 7 plus Posted: 02 May 2021 04:51 PM PDT Help // dropped my iphone 7 plus Earlier today I dropped my iphone 7 plus, At first it kept restarting or shutting down after being used for about 5-7 minutes. And now it keeps restarting after 30 mins - 1h Only in sleep it does not restart. After each restart the battery is shown to be very less and after a little while goes back to about what it was before, though it sometimes stays the same or goes up a few too. One more thing the battery health was 87% before dropping now it shows 97%. I doubt it is a software issue as before dropping it it was fine. There doesn't seem to be any damage to the phone casing. Also the power button seems fine it doesn't seem damaged. Is there anything I could do on my own or should I have it repaired? is it okay to trust a local phone repairman depending on the scale of the issue? Thanks [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 02 May 2021 11:58 AM PDT Not asking for help, but I am sharing an anomaly after installing iOS 14.5 on the iPhone SE (2020). Since I'm located out of the U. S. at this time, I took specific note that after installation of 14.5, the iPhone would not engage WiFi Calling on T-Mobile USA any longer. I reset network settings, I erased the iPhone and setup as new and it still refused to engage WiFi Calling. I regressed to 14.4.2 (still signed by Apple for the time being) and WiFi Calling worked normally. This behavior was not observed on an iPhone 8 belonging to another user here. | Iphone 8 plus no service issue. Posted: 02 May 2021 11:35 AM PDT Hello, so I've been having issues with the cellular service since approx. a month ago. I have this phone for at least 5 month now and its 2nd hand like new conditions. The problems with the service started a month ago with periods when the "no service" thing pop up for at least 30 seconds and then it goes back to normal, doing that thing every hour or so, then it switches to no service for 3 days (in which i did everything in the apple support page, even putting it in recovery mode). After the recovery mode thing it got fixed, but also i notice the sometimes the carrier name will switch from being in all lower case, to all the letters in upper case, sometimes it stays normal and also no service for secons. 3 days ago, the no service appears again and also did everything in the apple support page but nothing. I still think is a software issue but idk anymore. Im not in a country where i can send the iphone to Apple directly, and dont have an official apple store... any other solution? or should i get another phone edit: I also notice that when it is in "no service" mode thing it drains the battery not fast fast but like in a constant look for network, when i put it in airplane mode the battery drains normally. But then it dims automatically and I go to Brightness to turn off the autobright setting and notice that it's set to maximum brightness already. Yet I KNOW it was brighter just a few moments ago. | Help! Confusion about esim on new iPhone Posted: 02 May 2021 08:45 AM PDT Help! New iPhone - couldn't activate carrier at Apple store (esim?) Yesterday I traded in my iPhone for iPhone 12 Pro at Apple store, when they tried to activate with my carrier (T-mobile) by entering my phone and last 4 social it couldn't find my account. Next they tried with my SIM PIN and that didn't work either. Instead they sold me an unlocked phone and said I could go to T-Mobile store to help activate, and gave me my SIM from phone I was trading in. That was a bit of a bummer since T-mobile also have a promotion at the moment where you get a $100 card for activating a phone at time of purchase. The apple guy said I'd need to go to T-Mobile store to upgrade my sim to make sure I was getting full benefits of network (5G?). I also overheard another Apple person mentioning to another customer that when your phone shows 5G it's not really 5G until they do something (I didn't hear the detail). When I left the store saw I had reception and tried making a call and I was connected to T-mobile network (and I'm also seeing 5G). Does anyone know if I still need to go to T-mobile? | Posted: 02 May 2021 06:17 AM PDT Yesterday a friend of mine dropped her iPhone, and the display broke (now the screen is completely black). For some reason she thought letting it fully discharge was a good idea. When the phone eventually died she plugged it in. The thing is when an iPhone turns off, you need to unlock it in order for it to start most of the features. Since the display is broken, touch inputs aren't registering and now her iPhone is completely useless. Is there anyway to make the touch inputs start registering again without changing the display? | iPhone Stuck in Recovery Mode with Full Storage Posted: 02 May 2021 05:56 AM PDT Hey all, Using an Iphone 11 Pro Max, I am up to installing iOS 14.5 onto the phone through iTunes and I get error 14 every time about a quarter of the way into the install. I have exhausted all other options so I presume this is due to the phone storage being full. I do not want to restore as I have a lot of photos I do not want to lose. iCloud is not set up so I can not retrieve them from iCloud. I have also tried accessing the files through Windows Explorer but the phone does not appear as a device. What are my options going forward? [link] [comments]  |
