1000 nits full-screen brightness? Posted: 03 May 2021 06:02 AM PDT Apple states the new 12.9" has 600 nits max brightness and 1000 nits max full-screen brightness. The iPad is always full-screen so can someone better explain what this means? [link] [comments]
Why is it so difficult to move files from iPad to computer? Posted: 03 May 2021 10:16 AM PDT I have two iPads, one of them is my dad's so I tried to move my files from my dad's iPad to the computer but the process is so complicated and difficult. I installed iTunes and said I trust the device and the device is a new iPad so don't merge with my other iPad. But for some reason all the files got merged and the files from my other iPad got automatically transferred to my dad's iPad. It's seriously so annoying. I can't even access any of the files on the iPad directly on my computer without WiFi even though I have it directly connected with a USB and I have iTunes open. I tried the Photos app but only 3 photos show up, not the tens of other photos/screenshots on my iPad. Also how do I make the iPad disconnect from my account so that my dad won't see all my files and so my files don't automatically get transferred to my dad's iPad? I heard Apple intentionally made it hard to transfer files between their devices and Windows devices but this is seriously so stupid. And WHY are they transferring files between my different iPads without even my permission??? [link] [comments]
For the average user, is there a noticeable difference between the new iPad pros and last years? Posted: 03 May 2021 09:59 AM PDT I held off getting an iPad Pro for the longest time now. I like my iPad Air but I'm gifting it to a friend who needs one and can't afford a new one. My question is: is there a noticeable difference in specs meaning is there a noticeable performance difference between the 11 and 12.9 besides screen size? [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 May 2021 01:40 PM PDT I wanted to ask if anyone knows any leaks or rumours about the next gen of the iPad. I read a few rumours about Apple unveiling the device during the April event but those were obviously not true. Also will Apple finally upgrade to the Type-C on the iPad or persist with the inferior Lightning? Will they adapt their new iPad design to the standard iPad? If anyone knows or has heard about the next gen of iPad feel free to reply with what you have seen or what you would love to see. [link] [comments]
What are the chances of Apple release exclusive features for M1 in the near future? Posted: 03 May 2021 05:06 AM PDT I'm researching for buying my first iPad. My expectation is that this new iPad will be with me for many years to come and, of course, I'd appreciate having support for apps (AKA pro apps) and new features in the next years (maybe not all of them, but the most important ones or sure). I found a sale of the iPad Pro 11 2020 128GB for 674 EUR and I'm wondering if I would lose too much by saving 200+ EUR right now. I'm new to the iPad world, and I've been reading a lot about about how powerful the iPads are and how iPadOS is the bottleneck at this moment. If this is true, and given M1 and A12z are the same architecture, would be reasonable to think that most (if not all) the features in the next 2 or 3 years will come to both iPad Pro 2021 and iPad Pro 2020? Or do you think there is a real chance that Apple starts releasing features and apps exclusively for the M1? [link] [comments]
Logitech folio touch for ipad air 4. Still buggy? Posted: 03 May 2021 10:31 AM PDT Logitech folio touch users assemble! How is the keyboard nowadays? I know it was initially buggy with track pad issues, key lighting issues and random unresponsiveness. Is all that now resolved? [link] [comments]
12.9 inch, 2018 IPad Pro Cases with detachable keyboards and mousepads? Posted: 03 May 2021 09:17 AM PDT Ive been using a Zagg Rugged Book Go for my case, since it allows me to detach the keyboard and use it either separately or not at all for things like drawing. Id like to find a case with that same detachable functionality, but with a mousepad on it. I know Logitech has the Combo Touch Keyboard Case, but there is no model for the 12.9 inch model, and I haven't seen anything else advertised for similar use. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 May 2021 03:28 AM PDT Has anyone managed to get the mx keys + mx master mouse working with flow on an ipad (or come up with a better workflow than turning the mouse upside down). Flipping keyboard input using the 3 input keys on the keyboard doesn't feel at all bad. It's turning the mouse upside-down and pressing a recessed button that isn't great. I've had a look in logitech options to see if you can remap the buttons on the side to switch inputs but that doesn't seem to be an option the software supports. Really curious to see how others have solved this. I'm starting to suspect Flow it's a windows/OSX only solution [link] [comments]
What exactly does Thunderbolt mean to the average user? Posted: 02 May 2021 08:23 PM PDT For those of us who won't be transferring large data files, does Thunderbolt really matter? The most I would want to do is utilize an external hard drive and connect/mirror to a small 21-23" external monitor. Would the iPad Air suffice? Edit: all makes sense. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Android chump buys a iPad Air - New Owner Thoughts Posted: 02 May 2021 03:10 PM PDT Apologies for bad grammar, am typing this at 11PM I have been a long time Android user since 2011 and have used devices from HTC, Motorola, Oneplus, Google and Samsung. I am currently rocking a Pixel 4a 5G as my daily driver. On my computing, I use Windows and use a rig I build a few years ago There has been the odd flirtation with Apple devices in a iPod and a iPad but ditched both quite soon due to not adapting to the OS (& its's limitations) and lack of storage (32GB on an iPad is rough). However, after years of using Android tablets, most recently the Tab S6, I can say with a great mount of confidence that Android tablets aren't particularly good as the OS and apps do not utilise the screen estate and apps. The frustration I had most with the Tab S6 was battery life, ever since I opened it, it always felt that the battery life was never good. In an act of morning angst, I ordered the iPad Air 4 and have so far am enjoying this Apple experience. I got the Air as it felt like the most balanced option for me, I didn't want the storage limitations and old design of the iPad 8 and I didn't want the cost (and power) of the Pro. The Air has a great balance in power, modern design (incl USB C) and being respectful to my wallet. My use case is reading comics, watching Netflix and Crunchyroll and some of that iOS gaming. The issues, I had previously are nonstarters, I'm getting around iPad OS pretty well and am enjoying the gesture system is very similar to Android which has eased the learning curve. Storage isn't an issue as I avoided my previous fuck up and got the 256GB model. I'm enjoying the speed and consistency of the OS and apps; I always knew that the OS was mostly clean of junk but I was very impressed at how many default apps I was able to uninstall. The USB C port makes transferring files much better than previously. I do love the build quality and how nice the screen is. I'm quite happy especially in the value for money category. I paid £630 GBP for a 256GB which seemed to be a fair price. What I didn't know is that came with three months of Apple Arcade (Hello Fantasian) and a year of Apple Tv (Hello Ted Lasso) which has sweetened the deal. I still have my criticisms, whilst the limitations of iPad OS/iOS aren't as insufferable, some of the limitations are ridiculous. The obligatory, you can't place apps where you want, which could result in your waifu's face being covered by the garageband app! iTunes on windows was confusing dogshit when I last used it several years and it still remains confusing dogshit now, I genuinely believe I have a greater chance of building a rocket then understand how iTunes for windows works. Files does open up flexibility which allows some work arounds but it feels so limited, even more so in the context of using it as a computer when I compare it to Windows. The lack of headphone jack is irritating. I understand, I am of the remaining 36 people on the planet who enjoy wired headphones so this is irritating. Obviously, this is part of a wider industry trend but a trend Apple started. This is minor, but an OLED screen would have been dope AF. On the whole, I'm positive and have been happy with the purchase. I don't see myself switching to an iPhone though, I much prefer the flexibility and logic of Android for my everyday needs. tablet without crack is a tablet without history Posted: 03 May 2021 01:13 PM PDT After I crack my iPad screen in a dumb way, I perceived that there are a lot of people who have cracks in iPads. Do you have it? How do you made this feat? PS:mine is IPad Air 1 [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 May 2021 07:08 PM PDT Has anyone been able to keep their iPad completely naked for 2yrs at least? I am one of those who like having my devices naked or invisible case(peel/totallee for iPhones) Trying to see if it's okay to not get any screen protector or case at all. Main uses are entertainment, note taking and reading. Preordered my very first 11 pro and thanks much for any inputs! [link] [comments]
Brydge Pro+ 11 inch for IPad Air 4 Posted: 02 May 2021 09:29 PM PDT Hello there, first post here. I was wondering if anybody has experience with the Brydge Pro+ Keyboard on the iPad Air 4. I'm thinking about getting the keyboard as I also use my IPad for Work. Thank you in advance [link] [comments]
Best Coding Program to Install on iPad? Posted: 02 May 2021 07:06 PM PDT I currently have a 2014 15" Macbook Pro, which was my go-to laptop for years. A few months ago, the screen cracked and got worse; I have been using it as a desktop setup (keyboard, monitor, and all) since then, where it works fine, but obviously, I can't move it around for when classes start to go in person next semester. I'm an Information Technology student so I need something I can code on, which I currently use Xcode and Visual Studio CODE for. Fixing the screen, according to a local shop, will cost $500, and since the computer is vintage and has been worked on by Apple before, I think I'm out of luck there as well. I have an iPad from about 2-3 years ago, more or less. I'm going to invest in a keyboard and mouse setup for it, in a neo-laptop style, but it still doesn't solve my question of what program I can use for coding. AFAIK, I don't think Xcode or Visual Studio CODE will run on it; anyone have any recommendations? [link] [comments] |
