iPad I've been drawing in Procreate on my iPad for 8 months now. And I can say that drawing in this app has become even more enjoyable than drawing on a paper, hah.

Got a new iPad Pro and the difference between Procreate on this and my old 2016 pro is like night and day! I’m on a bird kick right now - can’t stop painting them.

Is there an expected date of the embargo being lifted on the iPad Pro review?

    Posted: 02 May 2021 11:38 AM PDT

I'm waiting to see if the Mini-LED is worth it. I would love to get the 11 inch model but with my MacBook Pro no longer in shape to continue (and I don't need a new personal laptop anytime soon) I was hoping 12.9 inch could offset it as I'm not gonna do any heavy lifting tasks on it anymore.

I’ve just noticed a yellow-ish tint around the display of my iPad Pro 10.5. Any idea on what this could be?

Hacks for hand writing comfortably on the 12.9?

    Posted: 02 May 2021 12:09 PM PDT

Anyone got good hacks for when you wanna hand write on the 12.9 with no case with the pencil while sitting comfortably on a sofa (no desk), whether landscape or portrait? I'm always feeling like I could be doing something better with a pillow or something for stability and comfort instead of sort of leaning it against my knees like a clipboard, or keeping my left hand clutching the side of the screen.

    Console quality games

    Posted: 02 May 2021 02:23 PM PDT

Hey guys, do you think, now since the ipad pro has even more (graphical) power, there are even bigger and better games coming to the ipad? Maybe ports of existing xbox or playstation games or even ipad exclusive AAA titles? I would love to see that.

How does everyone use their Ipad when working from home, alongside a PC

    Posted: 02 May 2021 11:30 AM PDT

Hey everyone, I use my company-issued Win 10 laptop when I am working from home, and this will remain my main device for a number of reasons. That said, I would be curious to hear how people in a similar situation incorporate an Ipad into their daily grind (without it necessarily being main device). I can think of a few ideas, such as:

    - getting more mobile and being able to more easily take my reading / note-taking to another room, or out to the garden or park

    - doing my Teams/Zoom calls from different locations

    - Keeping an eye on and managing my MS To Do list (which I mainly generate in Outlook)

Any other thoughts or creative ideas? I would love to hear them!

    New Ipad Pro 12.9 Inch M1 2021 or Macbook Pro 13inch M1?

    Posted: 02 May 2021 02:48 PM PDT

Hi everyone wondering what would be more worthwhile? Pretty standard user for internet browsing, movies etc.

For Cost they are roughly the same. Also with the Ipad Pro i would get the magic keyboard too which is like £349 i think. I hear the new Ipad pro 12.9inch will have a really good display too.

Any advice is appreciates. Also i own a MBP 15 inch from 2014. Haven't really owned an Ipad. Also have Iphone, i watch, airpods too.

New 12.9 magic keyboard available now?

    Posted: 02 May 2021 12:47 PM PDT

I'm looking at the new magic keyboard on Apple's website and it says I can get it delivered on the 5th of May. I thought it wouldn't be available until the new ipad came out? Am I looking at the old magic keyboard or is it available now?

Note app with one key feature?

    Posted: 02 May 2021 03:54 AM PDT

I've been through a number of apps both paid and free, and still trying to find an app with one simple feature -

Aside from a blank screen to write notes, freehand, I am looking for an app that will let me import a (multipage) PDF and write on the pages. Not interact with the PDF, i.e. it can import and then be an image on the iPad. Now, I use Penultimate, a companion app to Evernote, and the process is cumbersome. It needs to import images, one at a time. So, I'm taking screenshots of PDF, loading to photos, then pulling in, one image at a time.

FWIW, I'd be importing math worksheets, and creating a tutorial or answer key. (any question/clarification pls ask. If this has been addressed a dozen times, sorry, I haven't found it)

    MiniLED Display

    Posted: 01 May 2021 10:09 PM PDT

To anyone that might know what mini-LED is or how it works or looks. Any idea as to if this is more beneficial for movies or is the 2020 version going to do a similar enough job for it? Is this more directed towards artists and creators?

Since the M1 is the new big thing, will Apple include it in the next iPad Mini?

    Posted: 02 May 2021 08:32 AM PDT

I just followed through with all things Apple Silicon (specifically the history of the ARM based chip architecture) and I finally learnt why the M1 chip is absolutely gonna blow all other chips outta the water probably by the M2/A14X generation.

The ARM (Acorn Risc - Reduced Instructions Set Computing - Machine) chipset architecture goes way back, and is really starting to cement its triumph with the pace and trajectory as we move forward. However then, that just got me wondering, will Apple find a window of time down the road to also include it into the iPad Mini? Or would it only share an A series chip with the iPhone series line up?

Left-handed iPad users: Do you find iPads comfortable?

    Posted: 01 May 2021 02:39 PM PDT

TL;DR: I'm a leftie, are the iPads adapted to us? (note-taking using the pencil wise)

Hey guys, so recently I've been researching models of iPads to buy. In a year's time, I will be in the university (I think software engineering) and I wanted to purchase an iPad as my daily driver.

Even though I'm still trying to decide whether the iPad 8th gen or the iPad Air 4 is the way to go, I wanted to get your view on note-taking.

At first, I was very intrigued by the manual note-taking in the iPads, seems really cool and comfortable, but the thing is: I'm a leftie.

All my life I've been hustling through the right-handed-made-for world, which also includes technology (I've been "forced" to use a "normal" mouse all my life) and that kind of stuff, thus, being difficult at the beginning to adapt. However, after writing all my life with the left hand, I can't imagine changing to my right hand. That's why I wanted to ask you what is your experience being left-handed and using an iPad as a note-taking tool, or maybe even a daily driver?

    Thanks!

    Note Taking app

    Posted: 01 May 2021 05:20 PM PDT

Is there an app on iPad for live collaboration via handwriting? An app where multiple people have a blank sheet and we can hand write and draw whatever we like live.

    iPads and Network Drives

    Posted: 01 May 2021 05:56 PM PDT

We are testing Intune and managed iPads with a VPN. iOS uses SMB to access network shares. I get a Content Unavailable error. According to the Internet, there is a 50 file limit. Does anyone know if this is true? Has anyone deployed SMB successfully?

    Student Setup

    Posted: 01 May 2021 04:16 PM PDT

Currently have an ipad and a macbook docked on an external monitor. debating upgrading my laptop to an imac. I never really take my macbook off my desk but as things return to normal, i'm wondering if i could get away with the ipad as my laptop. Main uses for my laptop currently are writing assignments/notes and viewing research/ class slides/readings. Occasional use of excel. Anyone in a similar situation? If so, let me know how it's worked out.
