Yesterday was my 3.5 year old daughter's Mother's Day presentation. It just so happened that my wife managed to be off work and we went to see this for her. I used DJI Mimo and my DJI OSMO 3 to stabilize the video (this is all relevant to this story and I appreciate your attention). So as we finished the presentation I kept the video rolling. I rolled all the way back to the SUV. Then I packed up everything including my wife and daughter and went home.

I got home and the video was gone. Like just vanished. No where to be found. I worked as a Network Engineer for a few years so I know that data doesn't just ... disappear. There has to be a temp file or something laying within the file system that I can find to at least extract part of it.

Of course I have and iPhone ... it's of the xR variety and it's sitting on a fresh 14.3 with a little help from that MDM upgrade we had a few weeks ago. I hadn't even jailbroken it. I knew what I had to do. Time to jailbreak!

and lo after 45 minutes of searching through files manually .... I found it. The video. Intact and encoded ready to go. The app must have crashed and not indexed the file? I really have no clue but I wasn't expecting to find it with absolutely NO experience with the structure of the Apple filesystem.

My argument here is that something went wrong between the user and the phone. The hardware that I own. Now I need to do a recovery job but no one can gain access to root? Had I not had a jailbreakable iOS version I'd have been screwed. That memory would have been LOCKED IN THE FILESYSTEM never to be recovered. Thanks Apple. Dicks.

Anyways ... that's my rant. I despise the eco-system. I truly do. I despise that I'm about to be forced to upgrade from 14.3 to 14.5.1 because my watch was replaced under warranty and you guessed it ... it won't pair with my 14.3 because it "requires" an upgrade. It DOESN'T. Stop lying. They are just making these artificial programmatic barriers .... but when my iPhone is jailbroken ... it's the best Phone on the market. Period. So that's why I stay. It's like an abusive relationship. I want control of what I own but there's always Tim Cook telling me what I can and can't do.[/rant]

Vibin aims to disable distractions while listening to music.

It enables Do Not Disturb and hides the lockscreen notifications to keep things clutter free when playing music. This is perfect for stopping alerts and dings especially when playing music through a speaker or in a car. All features can be toggled on/off individually through the settings pane. It also hides the Do Not Disturb banner.

[DISCUSSION] Useful tweak called HardRespring.

I found this amzing tweak called HardRespring on Bigboss repo by Ruphane. this tweak basically allows us to respring or ldrestart with hardware buttons. this is extremely useful incase of frozen screen. instead of rebooting and rejailbreaking, you can just ldrestart or respring. this saved a lot of time and is helpful when your phone freezes in middle of an important work. i am no position to donate to the developer so i just wanted to appreciate his hardwork by sharing this tweak with you all. big thanks to the developer. keep up the hard work:)

[Update] BackupAZ4 1.1 - Bring back the options page, package informations

Hello everyone !

I've just pushed an update to BackupAZ4 which push it to the 1.01.

This update contain features requested by users alongside potentially fixing an issue a small amount of users had. Full changelog below:

Changelog:

Added back the Options page where you can check how much a backup will take up space, respring / reboot / power off, etc…
You can now check a package information by clicking on it in the Backup Details list
Optimized the space calculation method
Potentially fixed a cause of crash at opening due to incorrect folder permission

As a reminder, BackupAZ4 allow you to backup and restore your jailbreak specific data (tweaks, preferences, sources, etc...) but also allow you to backup and restore your stock applications data, directly on device!

New features are added from days to days, next update will be about fixing an issue some users had when switching from a jailbreak to another alongside adding back backup sharing.

[TUTORIAL] Final Battery Health, iOS Stock Tutorial + Battery Life Tweak (after 2 years 95%)

Important: If you don't understand my post you shouldn't do this. This is an experiment, but for me, it's the best result what could I find after two years. This is NOT a tutorial for better battery drain for the use of tweaks, I will make another post for that, and we will see some tricks.

Actual: This is a iOS Stock Tutorial + Battery Life Tweak

Please tell me what's future tutorial do you want first.

Specs

Model: iPhone 11 Pro Max Model: iPhone 8 Plus

iOSv1: 13.5 - 80% of the time with Jailbreak: unc0ver 6.0.1

iOSv2: 14.3 - 20% of the time and actual iOS with Jailbreak: unc0ver 6.1.1 but now I use Taurine 1.0.2.

01.iOS Setting (YOU DO NOT NEED JAILBREAK)

My final setup on iOS 14.3, it's here if you want a several battery care just use like that.

Important: If you have some suggestion for better performance, please tell me about it, and I will add to the tutorial, just like I said in the beginning this is an experiment and is just personal experience.

[Bluetooth]: Turn it off when you don't use it.

[Cellular].Wi-Fi Assit: Turn it off.

[General].AirDrop: If you don't use turn it off (don't have effect on battery life if turn it on).

[General].AirPlay & Handoff: If you don't use turn it off (don't have effect on battery life if turn it on).

[General].Background App Refresh: Turn it off all of them!! If you can of course, and if you have trouble with some app, then turn it on that specific app.

[Display & Brightness]: Try to use dark mode and Raise to wake turn it off.

[Accessibility]: I give you my personal setup, the only configuration here interesting is autobrightness turn it on. If you have and older iPhone (4s, 5, SE) here you can add more CPU speed and battery life improvement turning it off some animation functions.

[Wallpaper]: Try to use a black wallpaper, if you want off course.

[Siri & Search]: I don't use Siri, all turn it off (for privacy and battery life).

[Privacy].Location Services: Privacy it's the most important settings. First LOCATION SERVICES turn it off as long as you don't use it (for privacy and battery life). But if you lose your phone and try to track it, you won't be able to!!! Be careful with this decision, in my case off!!. But if you decide to turn it on always, please configure the applications one by one. I uploaded those settings as an example.

[Privacy].Location Services.Location Alerts: Turn it off Show Map in Location Alerts.

[Privacy].Location Services.System Services: Turn it off all of them except, Compass Calibration if you use Compass App, and Find My iPhone.

[Privacy].Tracking: Turn it off all of them.

[Privacy].Motion & Fitness: Turn it off

[Privacy].Analytics & Improvement: Turn it off

[Privacy].Apple Advertising: Turn it off

[App Store]: Turn it off all of them

Battery Life Tweaks (YOU NEED JAILBREAK)

[BattSafePro]: This tweak it's very helpful because it let me stay on 80% capacity of charge and no more and later in the morning finish the rest of 20%. Charging to 100% (or overnight) stresses out the battery and degrades it faster. This tweak kept the charge level where it should be.

[RealCC]: This it's very useful because you can really turn it off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth

[iCleaner Pro]: This tweak has many functions, but in this particular battery life you can go to Launch Daemons, and turn it off this daemon: Game Center, HealthKit, HomeKit, OTA update, Voice control, VPN (if you don't know how it works or if you don't know if you use it, don't touch it or search first). But the names are intuitive.

[Powercuff]: Helped me limit my battery usage. Exposes access to hidden power throttling modes for better battery life.

[SmartBattery 2]:You can enable LPM at percentage in my personal setup 30%, Force LPM charging mode, Boost battery life by making the OS thinks the phone is not under load at all so no need to the power hungry CPU core get activated, Clever LPM activate when its locked and disables when it's unlocked.

[SystemInfo]: Very effective at monitoring battery info.

Final Suggestion

[Charging]: VERY VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT!!!!! My charging pattern it's rarely draining my phone less than 30% or allowing it to charge higher than 85%. Do not charge with fast adapter while you can, just stress your battery with this process. Don't use wireless charge, same situation. Use 1.0 A charger while you can.

[Jailbreak]: You need considerate Taurine and unc0ver version (have different result in battery drain, and the same with libhooker or substitute version. (next post)

[Tweaks]: Many tweak a lot of battery drains (next post)

[Publicity]: I don't exactly if the publicity, affect battery life. I use this tweak MYbloXX for iOS.

Important: If any have information, please write to me.

[CC]: Put a Location Services access on Control Center and you can activate and deactivate it.

today I decided to try and jail break my phone, but I just broke it instead. I was trying to jailbreak my iphone 8 using checkra1n on ios 14.5.1, and at first I succeeded, I had cydia and everything, but I did this for one reason, to install and use Iandroid, an android emulator for ios, however it doesn't work on jailbroken phones, and LIKE THE APSOLUTE DUMBASS I AM, I decide to not research how to un-jailbreak a phone, and instead to factory reset my phone and load a back up. But cydia was still on my phone and then finaly i decided to look up "how to un-jailbreak an iphone 8" and I needed something from cydia. And so I decide to try and Rejailbreak my phone hoping that tis might work, and so after the hole song and dance of jailbreaking my phone. it is locked on the boot screen. when I plug it in to my pc iTunes doesn't recognize it. and it appears as "PongoOS USB Device" on my pc. and what's plastered on the screen of my phone, a reminder of my stupidity, is this

Since they have confirmed no timeline for Home Screen customization, wondering if anyone could pick up the slack.

I don't use it for podcasts but yet now half my homepage over 5 lines are dedicated to them.

Maybe just a blocklist in general for Spotify.

Hi,

I erased my iphone to restore a backup after switching from my xs max, and I forgot to restore rootfs from Taurine before, and now the device flashes the apple logo every 20-25 seconds, but nothing else happens.

Is there any way to fix it? please

Running ios 14.3 and was jailbroken with latest taurine.

[QUESTION] I can’t install or uninstall any apps

I jailbroke my IPhone 8 on IOS 14.4.2 with checkra1n. Whenever I try installing or uninstalling an app, the app won't show up on the home page/disappear from the home page unless I respring my device. I'm currently uninstalling apps from the settings app as i just don't get the option from the home page. What do I do? Is a tweak causing this?
