    I live in Italy and I don't understand why here (and in other countries) it is not possible to connect third-party applications to the Apple TV app. Does anyone know why? Everything on Google TV is connected exactly, so I don't think there are any real rights issues. Who should we blame: Apple or streaming services?

    All new MLB app (May 2021)

    There's a total remake of the app released today. You may need to go to App Store on Apple TV and apply the update. If you have any feedback I'll organize below.

    The good:

    • Quicker access to Recaps
    • Quicker access to Condensed Games
    • Easier access to and better organized video clips with categories (eg manager post games, or plays of the week etc)
    • FIXED: HomePod issue where HomePod is default audio output

    The bad:

    • Location permission required
    • Missing feature: "Catch Up", Watch from the beginning, or inning selector during a live game
    • Missing feature: Line score when swiping up during stream
    • Missing feature: League standings

    YMMV

    • Now uses native Apple TV PIP capability in lieu of MLBs "split screen". For better or worse. It does let you keep a game playing while you use other apps which is nice.

    I have apple tv 4k and samsung hw-q950t soundbar connected to tv via hdmi 2.0.

    i heard that this soundbar support hi-res audio up to 24bit 192khz.

    also i heard that apple music on tvos also supports hi-res.

    in this case, will i be able to enjoy 24 / 192 without any extra hardware?

    You can use your Amazon echo as a Bluetooth audio transmitter to your wired headphones.

    Well, yesterday I was looking for a way to use my wired headphones with the Apple TV. Then I realized my Amazon echo 3rd gen had an aux port. Connected the echo as a Bluetooth speaker, connected my headphones to it. Done. Works like a charm. Just a quick tip if somebody is in a similar situation 😊

    Using Apple TV 4K to wirelessly extend my desktop using 2019 13" MacBook Pro base model

    I've been wanting to wirelessly extend my desktop to my ~47" 4k tv, but it seems like the only option to do this and not experience and sort of delay is by using an Apple TV 4K. For anyone who does extend their display and uses a similar model MacBook, is there any delay? Does the performance seem as effective as plugging in a second monitor to the usb-c via HDMI adapter?

    Furthermore, can I connect my Bluetooth headset to the apple tv?

    Have new Apple TV coming, question about my old one

    Hi everyone, as the title says I Have new Apple TV coming, question about my old one.

    Basically I'm giving it to my parents, same house, and they want it set up with a separate Apple ID they have which is only used for their iPad.

    Now I don't think I want them in HomeKit because it never leaves home and it's the only device on the Apple ID currently.

    So I know you can daddy a user in HomeKit, which I don't think is the right thing but please correct me if I'm wrong, and you can also add the user on the device itself.

    What would be the best way for me to do this?

    Does any Apple TV setting need to be enabled to use Apple Watch Siri to turn on/off device?

    I have an AppleTV4K connected via Ethernet, which is working well. I also have an Apple Watch, which is connected via wifi when I'm home.

    When I use the Apple Watch Siri function and issue a command like, "turn the Apple TV on in the family room" I get a response similar to "device didn't respond".

    I've seen other posts online with people reporting interactions from their watch. Do I need to enable any setting on the Apple TV to get this working?

    With the Google TV redesign, will apple follow the same route?

    Apple tv has so many names, and the design is hard to understand.

    You have apple tv4k, apple tv, apple tv TV app, apple tv channels, apple tv regular apps. This needs to change.

    Do you think they will follow googles new approach?

    Is this they year apple tvos finally gets a huge upgrade?

    I have some questions about Foundation

    So first things first. I am very excited about Foundation being made into a tv show (as well as Dune being made into a movie series). I wanted to get into the books but I keep hearing that they are all about philosophy (which I fear would go over my head) and that they do not stay with a character for very long. So I have some questions about the show.

    What are some ways that they could tell the story without going too deep on the characters? The only way that I can guess is that they treat the story telling like someone is telling a story like a oral story that you might hear from Native American elders or tell it like they are explaining the history of the Galactic Empire as a way to cover the vast amount of time that the series covers (I think the series covers thousands of years).

    Since the original Foundation books were written in the 1950's and Asimov making two sequels and two prequels in the 1980's It has got me wondering if Apple will only adapt the original 50's Trilogy or if they are going to adapt all seven books for the show?

    I was also wondering if Foundation will be Retro Sci-Fi in style like you can see on a lot of sci-fi book covers in the decade and in this pinterest page (https://www.pinterest.com/wilpagan1/retro-sci-fi-and-retro-future/), something like how the old Star Wars movies looked, or if they were going to do a more contemporary sci-fi style like in The Expanse?

    Can you portrait viewing on TV?

    I'd like to physically rotating TV from it "Landscape 16:9" to "Portrait 9:16" and Viewing/reading stuffs from an iPhone's "Screen Mirroring".
    (Like on a PC that you can rotate its graphics display 0/90/180/270° and your monitor)

    Is there a way or app to do it?

    Apple TV - App versus actual device

    I have a new Apple TV 4K on order, but have a couple questions. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

    The first is pretty simple, but I realized I didn't know the answer: is there any difference between the interface and available content using the actual device versus using the App (on a Roku, for example)? Are there more items available or live channels?

    The second question relates to that last item: does Apple TV (or Apple TV+) have an equivalent feature to the Roku Live channels? Most of the Roku channels are a little ridiculous, but it's sometimes fun to watch Chinese martial arts movies or 80s videos.

    Apple TV problems with Disney+

    Hi guys

    The show plays without problems. The problem arises when an episode stops, and I get the option to skip to the next episode. It loses hdmi connection, then comes back on with the show on pause. It happens all the time, and only in Disney+

    Running an Apple TV 4K through a tv from I wanna say 2009 (I know it's old lol) was working fine for a solid week but got this message this morning trying to watch a live tv channel through an app from the app store. Any clue how to fix this? I changed the HDMI cables 3 times but still get this message.
