| On the new remote you can program the mute button to anything! Posted: 30 May 2021 10:11 PM PDT This is probably obvious but I just wanted to share: I use a set of bookshelf speakers with my TV. I almost never use mute for them but I do like to turn them on and off independently of the TV occasionally. Since the mute button on the new remote is just programmed by IR, I just did the power button for the speakers instead of mute. Just wanted to let you all know in case that's helpful! | Posted: 31 May 2021 07:06 AM PDT I just bought the new Apple TV 4K (2021) and have to admit it's really entertaining. I have a LG OLED 77CX. First, i wasn't sure if paying that extra 200€ will be worth it, but it's so much smoother, scrolling through menues, switching apps etc. But i have one problem and that's Dolby Vision. My LG TV automatically changes the videos, matching the source. So if i use my Apple TV 4K and start Netflix, watching Modern Family, it will use the "standard" video settings. If i would start a movie which supports Dolby Vision it changes to "Dolby Vision Home" - picture settings. Now to the problem. My Apple tv even starts Youtube with Dolby Vision 4K and i can't change it on my TV. Every video is shown in Dolby Vision, which doesn't make sense watching videos on Youtube. A solution would be, to always change the video settings when watching youtube. But this would get on my nerves very quickly. I also have both options enabled, which say "adapt to content". | High storage used on 2017 4K model Posted: 31 May 2021 04:35 AM PDT I've just been looking at the storage used on out apple tv 4kto determine if to get another 64gb model or the 32gb model. We don't download games to the unit and just use streaming apps Netflix, Amazon, disney+, BBC i player, itvhub , all4, my5, uktvplay, YouTube, pluto, discovery+ along with plex, infuse, Emby, channelsdvr and Speedtest. On checking storage it says 56gb used of 64gb but looking in storage under general the used storage by apps work out to be around 1.5gb. Not sure how much space the os takes, but can't think it would be more than 10gb at the most and there is no way those apps are 1gb in size each, so where would the other 40gb of storage be? Anyone have any ideas on how to check where the space has actually gone and if a cache how to clear it [link] [comments]  | ||

TV LG C9 New Apple TV 4K 2nd gen New HDMI 2.1 Zeskit Maya 8k cable When I use the native Plex app built into the LG C9 Tv, Dolby vision content streams without an issue from my Mac. Now when I use my new ATV 4K, with the downloaded Plex app and start streaming the DV video, there is a green tint over the video. ATV video settings are set as SDR 4K with Match Dynamic Range and Match Frame Rate both turned on too. Is something wrong with my ATV? Posted: 31 May 2021 03:23 AM PDT I posted last week about the Siri Remote constantly disconnecting - I decided to try a remote from second new ATV4k and still an issue. So I've replaced the unit with a new ATV4k completely. It's not happening as much but it still happens, I've also just bought a new Xbox Wireless Controller and that is constantly disconnecting. This has to be a wider issue right? Happening on two brand new ATV4k, a brand new Siri Remote and brand new Xbox Wireless Controller. Never happened to my old ATVHD from circa 2016 I think. | Posted: 30 May 2021 01:46 PM PDT I thought I was dreaming when I compared my memory of my old ATV HD to the Android App (Sony 48' A9S), the box providing a cleaner picture (even from upscaled HD) and people made me doubt by downvoting my comments when I reported measurements made by other people on forums (the Android App seems to offer a twice lower bitrate than the native box App) but installing the new ATV 4K was such an upgrade that I did not even expected that much. Honestly Mortal Engines was a bit blurry like a badly compressed streaming but now it is just crisp. I noticed the same for See which was disappointing on the App, now it looks very clean. So I am very happy and waited the box to watch many movies I bought on iTunes and watched my 4K Blu Ray first. A truly huge upgrade for picture lovers who use these services. [link] [comments]  | ||

We are moving soon to a new apartment and only way to use the HomePods would be at a different distances of the left one and the right one from the TV. Then, I will turn the TV off for the day. Then when I turn it back on, the volume buttons stop working again. When I go in settings it changed the volume settings from tv ir to auto. After moving (with a new Wi-Fi network) I decided to use it again. I plugged in the ethernet cable in order to pair it with my iPhone but it asked to enter the 4-digit passcode on the apple tv to access it. So I live with my parents and I've recently bought a second Apple TV and given them my old one after their firestick stopped working. I pay for all of the streaming services and with those we've always had user profiles so everybody can watch whatever they want separately. Part of the attraction of the second Apple TV to the rest of the household is that I have an extensive film collection from iTunes and I want to share that and my Apple TV+ subscription, but I'd like to set it up so that for example, if we're watching the same show our progress isn't shared between the devices. | AppleTV home audio output via soundbar VS HomePod Posted: 30 May 2021 09:56 AM PDT Hi folks, I've recently ascended from a roku to AppleTV4kv2 and love it. One thing I'm still struggling with is using it as a seamless audio output for home audio. Previously i had a homepod mini in my living room, but since i have the appletv, i shouldn't need both devices and my soundbar and subwoofer should sound better than my tiny mini, but I'm having three issues.. 1 - If i try to play music using siri on homepod in one room (kitchen), then also play on appletv in living room with "hey siri, also play this in the living room" i get a "sorry, can't do that" 2 - If i airplay from my phone to kitchen and appletv in living room and the appletv has to wake, the sync is off between them until I toggle airplay on appletv airplay 3 - home automation to play music on appletv just doesnt seem to work consistently for my wake up scene Any similar issues from the community? Any advice on how i might resolve? Am i trying to do too much with the atv and should i just begrudgingly put the HomePod mini back in the living room for my needs? Thanks! [link] [comments]  | ||
| How do you fix “content not available” errors? Posted: 30 May 2021 07:30 AM PDT On my brand new ATV 4K, was watching the first Ant-Man movie with the AppleTV app yesterday. About half way through, we started getting "content not available" popping up. I tried restarting everything from the ATV, to my router and cable modem, but it would consistently pop up every 10 minutes. We finally switched from watching in the AppleTV app to Disney+, and it worked fine. Is there a way to fix this? I have a lot of movies I've purchased through iTunes.
