Issue with the YouTube app and Netflix app. Posted: 10 May 2021 07:28 PM PDT So recently I've been trying to watch YouTube on my 4th gen Apple TV and I can't seem to skip ads anymore. Yes I understand that the fifteen second ads are unskippable more often then not but even the two minute ads I can't skip and I'm getting sick of it. Is anyone else having the same issue? For context I'm using the same account on different devices and the other devices like my phone I'm still capable of skipping ads. And my Netflix problem is that it just won't work, I've updated the app, the Apple TV itself. Uninstalled and reinstalled Netflix and I just can't seem to get it to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you! [link] [comments]
Apple TV 4K just randomly stopped playing audio Posted: 10 May 2021 03:31 PM PDT This morning, everything was working fine as it always does. After playing some playstation I switched back to the Apple TV and the audio output just completely stopped working. I have a soundbar, and I even disconnected that and switched to the normal tv audio, and I still get nothing. Tried a different hdmi cable and got the same results. Tried rebooting the Apple TV. Rebooted the tv as well. Really not sure what happened and how to fix it, help! EDIT* I just tried switching to a different hdmi port and got sound. I'm on an LG C9. And clues as to what's the issue? HBO Max media volume much lower than other streaming apps on Apple TV? Posted: 10 May 2021 08:55 AM PDT Anyone else notice that the HBO Max app seems to play media at much lower volume than the other apps Apple TV supports? I'm constantly finding myself turning up my speakers an insane amount just to get to a normal volume when watching shows, only to exit and go to another app like YouTube or Netflix and have the volume literally be screaming at me. Even weirder, is for certain shows on HBO Max, the media for the show itself is quiet, but the "behind the episode" media that sometimes comes after it is loud like the other apps. Why does this occur? Is there any way to fix it? I'm using a Sonos Arc via HDMI for my speaker if it matters, but considering its App Specific, I doubt its an issue with the bar itself [link] [comments]

Posted: 10 May 2021 03:37 PM PDT Since the new OS update for my AppleTV 4K, the ESPN app has been an absolute nightmare. The subtitles are on and there's zero ability to turn them off. I decided that it might be best to delete the app, restart, and download it again from the AppStore. Well HO-LEE-FUK was that an awful decision. Now I can't choose my TV provider in the settings which means I can't use the app to watch ESPN programming. I have an ESPN+ subscription so I can watch UFC. It seems that that still shows in the settings portion. I've deleted and reinstalled three times. Subtitles still show when I watch something on ESPN+ and there's no ability to turn them off. Please tell me others are having similar issues and I'm not the only one. I have a total of 4 AppleTVs in the house and the other three work fine. But this one appleTV 4K is not playing nice with the ESPN app. [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 May 2021 05:10 AM PDT Apologize if I've missed it but is it confirmed that the new Apple TV will actually okay 4K hdr content ? I still haven't seen it I. The current Apple TV 4K. [link] [comments]
Alright, I genuinely wanna know the point of Apple TV and please pardon my ignorance, read below. Posted: 10 May 2021 08:19 AM PDT What purpose does the Apple TV serve, is it only for people with non smart TVs? I'm just starting to introduce myself in the apple ecosystem so I haven't researched a lot [link] [comments]

No true blacks on Apple TV 4K on OLED? Posted: 10 May 2021 04:16 PM PDT As the title says. When watching stuff on my Apple TV things like the black bars or loading screens never turn off the OLED pixels. Watching the same content with the Android OS built into my Sony KD65-AF8 shows the content is programmed to have those true blacks. I have tried content from Plex, Amazon, Disney, Netflix and Apple TV. It's extremely noticible on the black screen transitions when transitioning from menu to content. It doesn't seem to matter which video mode I'm in (Dolby Vision seems to make it even worse, in DV For the photo) [link] [comments]
