    safari problems

    i recently got a second hand XR, I'd say in decent condition it runs like normal. I installed iOS 14.5.1 when i got it and safari has been freezing whenever i try to enter some text into a box on websites. for example i was on NatWest trying to sort my banking and clicking a box froze safari completely. this never happened on my old phone (2nd gen SE) so i'm not sure if it's to do with the software update or the XR. Please help, cheers

    My iPhone X died ��

    Hello everybody. Last week i was using my phone (using facebook, nothing important) until the device turn off spontaneously and i can't turn on.

    I tried to enter to recovery mode or dfu mode and nothing happend. I tried Reiboot or iMyfone and they don't recognize the device. Same happend to iTunes.

    When the iPhone turn off it was full battery. After that i tried charging and nothing happend.

    Any idea?

    bought used ipad air

    I bought an iPad air at a yard sale this weekend and it is locked onto activation lock. I found the girl on Facebook that I bought it from she told me she didn't know how to get into it because she hadn't been on it in years. So what can I do?

    old macbook not turning on

    hey guys. i bought a used macbook in 2014 and it worked fine up until 2020. i don't use it for anything other than somewhere to put old photos or to make resumes so i shut it off and put it away in my closet for like a month. when i tried to turn it back on it would make all the normal sounds and the keys even lit up but the screen never changed from black. i'm kinda panicking because it has my entire photo archive from the last 7 years of my life on it and i cant access it anymore. would apple help me if i took it in? does anyone have any ideas on stuff i could do to at home? i've done some research and tried everything i found but its just not starting back up. please help

    Hi. I'm trying to set up my StepMom's new iPad 8th generation. I'm not familiar with the Apple ios. iPad info -8th generation -Software version 14.4.1

    I need to set up:

    -the wifi name and password so that when she leaves my house and goes home to her house it will automatically connect her to the wifi.

    -Whatsapp for her. Is there a way to set up Whatsapp on an iPad without jailbreaking it?

    Any help you can offer, I'd appreciate. Hopefully I've put this in the right group, gave the relevant info and asked the question the right way. Thanks in advance

    AirPods not connecting

    2nd Gen So they stopped connecting, I restart them pressing the button on the back nothing happens. They're constantly blinking orange, I press restart and it blinks white for a little bit but then it goes back to blinking orange.

    I called AppleCare but they didn't really help, if nothing works I'm gonna end up taking them to the Apple Store of course. Any idea what I could do?

    iPad Pro 12.9 (4th generation) won't come back from the dead w/ charger

    I left my iPad dead in my bookbag for [admittedly] a little longer that it should've been, and now I'm not able to turn it back on with the charger. I'm using the charger that was provided in the box it came in, and I've left it charging for a few days now with no luck, no sign of anything showing up on the screen.

    I have a Genius Bar appointment scheduled, but I'm wondering if anyone has any tips? I've already tried doing the hard reset with the volume up/down buttons and the unlock button.

    anyone know how to make calendar widget show next event rather than "no more events today"?

    my old iphone used to show the next event even if it was four days away, but the iphone 12 only shows "no more events" (or whatever it says, im paraphrasing)

    Not trying to bypass Activation Lock, but what can I do with these iMacs?

    Hi!

    I am in possession of two 2017 21.7" iMacs, both inherited from two people who unfortunately passed away.

    I have no proof of purchase for either computer, nor do I have access to, or even know, their Apple IDs.

    I'd rather not bypass the activation lock, as it'a obviously against their ToS, and sounds like it would be above my technical prowess anyway.

    My question is, what can I do with these machines? They're both barely used, and I'd rather not just toss them away.

    I can't find many, even on eBay, for sale, even for parts, besides some that are totally disassembled / stripped. I'll probably make some calls to a few shops around my area tomorrow, but is it common for people to sell locked Macs like that?

    Sorry if this is against the rules - I figured it wouldn't be since I explicitly said that I'm not trying to bypass the lock. Just looking for some advice on what to do with these pretty paper weights.

    Cracked camera lens on iPhone, not sure what to do

    As the title states, I have a cracked camera lens on my iPhone. I'm not sure how it happened or when, but it does distort the photos a little by adding what looks like rays of light to the photo. It doesn't happen on every photo, only ones where there are physical lights / lamps, or the sun is shining.

    Anyway, I don't have Apple Care but want to get this fixed. It's an iPhone 12 Pro which I bought specifically for the nice camera. I always take very good care of my phones & that's why I don't purchase Apple Care, obviously my fault / mistake.

    On the Apple support website, it says for an out of warranty fix, it could be up to $549. Of course when I contacted Apple they said that the Apple store technicians would need to look at it and then they'd let me know.

    I have an appointment at an authorized Apple service provider who said they could fix it for ~$100-$200.

    Should I wait until Apple can take a look at it and compare prices, or is it smart to do the authorized Apple service provider?

    Does anyone know an estimate of how much Apple charges for something like this?

    Any advice would be appreciated!

    How to permanently remove apps from account?

    I downloaded a bunch of weather apps trying to figure out which one was the best one and ended up deleting the rest. By deleting I held my finger down on the app until everything wiggled with an "x" and confirmed to "eliminate app".

    But now these apps I've deleted want to update and I don't know how else to remove them? It's not on my screen or device anymore so where do I go to get it completely off my iCloud?

    Android to iOS question

    About to get my new iPhone 12 tomorrow, and just wanted to get prepped for it. Question regarding the transfer: I'm planning to use both 'Move to iOS' app & mobiletrans (for WhatsApp).

    Which one of these should i do first? Or does it even matter, as long as I don't register the WhatsApp account on the new iPhone?

    Cannot hear Text to Speech

    I'm not sure if this helps, but it is an early Macbook Air 2014 that is running Mac OS Mojave 10.14.6. As for any recent changes that have occurred; I recently started using a pair of bluetooth headphones. But besides that, I see no reason why this may be happening. To my knowledge, there is nothing wrong with the sound. And I have also tried checking System Preferences as well. Unfortunately, I cannot even hear the voice test say the test that says "Most people recognize me by my voice". I do hope that someone here can help me solve this issue.

    How to Set Child’s Device?

    Hello! I hope this hasn't been asked before - I couldn't find anything this specific. I'm helping set up an old phone I don't use anymore to be my kid's (toddler) phone just to play with.

    I set up the child's Apple ID and all the screen time settings. I still seem to be able to access everything with screen time turned on. Do I need to log out on this old phone and log in with my child's ID?

    If I do that, will I still be able to access/change settings from there or from my new phone (through family sharing)? Thank you!

    Also will my child still be able to access my photos? She loves to look at them and I'd love to keep letting her, but I'm scared she will accidentally delete them.

    Resetting end to end encryption

    Will resetting end to end encryption on my computer (Mac mini late 2012, version 10.15.7) close all the safari tabs on my phone? Only asking because apples site lists "Safari History and iCloud Tabs (requires iOS 13 or later)" as one of the things that will be reset (and I do have iCloud tabs enabled)

    I'm pretty sure I can't find an answer anywhere because this is obvious and I'm dense/have a complete misunderstanding of how this works but oh well :/

    Catalina Photos: Export Complete with Errors

    I have a Smart Album in the Photos app with about 400 pictures. I'm trying to export these photos to a different location and I get an error message stating:

    Export Complete with Errors

    xxx of yyyy files have been exported to (location)

    The export operation failed to create files for zzz photos; first 100 are listed.

    Then I have a list of files with "Unknown Error (4)" listed under the Errors column

    Find my iPhone won't play sound when invoked via Airpods

    Hello, I'm using iPhone SE (2nd gen) and AirPods pro, both with the latest iOS/firmware.

    Today I was wearing my AirPods (paired to my iPhone) and I asked Siri to ping my phone. My iPhone got the "Find My" alert and I also received the corresponding e-mail but the iPhone did not make any sound or vibration at all. I later did some more tests only to find out that the same thing kept happening: I could not get any sounds when "Find My" was invoked via AirPods (alerts and e-mails were working normally)!

    ("Find My" sounds are working when invoked via iCloud.com)

    How can I move my message from iphone to mac mini?

    Hello, I have a ton of old messages that I have hung onto over the years and rather than deleting them, would like to store them on my mac, preferrably in the messages app or in some way I can read them later. What are my option? I've tried setting up message forwarding but it only seems to forward new messages. Syncing with icloud would work but I have 30 gigs probably of chats, and I think I cloud is 5gigs.

    I have heard of third party apps that convert messages to pdfs but I only trust Apple.
